3.3 ⭐️ The first I really enjoyed. This sequel I don’t regret reading because it fleshed out that cliffhanger ending, but I also felt like I didn’t gain much at all.
This felt rushed especially in the last, 50 pages or so. There is a very slow pace for the first 4/5 and then it’s rushed so fast that everything happens that matters in the space of a few pages.
If the book was being handled this way personally I think it would have been better to have cut out a whole bunch of the book and release it as either a novella or tack a few extra chapters onto the first book.
The spelling and grammar issues were worse in this than the first, to the point that the first major issue was found in the first few pages. I really do think the author could benefit from either beta readers or an editor. I would be surprised if they do have an editor because there was so many glaring issues even with basic spelling that gave it a rushed fanfic feel.
Saying that I still enjoyed it, and the author gave us a strap scene which I screamed at. Hell yes 👏🏻 again this one was very spicy. This series seems to be my guilty pleasure rn. Even as unpolished as it is it’s certainly bingable.

if i’m being honest i was a little disappointed with this sequel. it left me underwhelmed, and i hate that so much because i love the first one incredibly.
this book took everything i loved about the first book and totally tossed it to the side. for me, what made the first book enjoyable was keir and silvia’s relationship and dynamic. and i felt like in this book they were sidelined for a more plot based story. everything was definitely more about vampire/the order politics in this book and whilst i can see why that was necessary in order to achieve the end goal i think the first book did a better job of seamlessly interweaving the politics with the girls’ relationship.
again, for me, it felt like silvia forgiving keir came out of nowhere. i don’t remember them talking about anything that happened to them in the last book thoroughly (keir apologises but she never really addresses anything) and i think we’re meant to assume that a lot of their development is happening off page but i really would’ve liked to see that.
i also think the introduction of emery to only have her pop up here and there was totally wasted. she seemed like a really interesting character but realistically what did she do that gil couldn’t have done?
i don’t know, i guess i was just expecting more from this book than i got and that’s okay. it doesn’t take away from my love for the first book in the slightest but i probably won’t reread this one if/when i reread contract bound again.
this book was a lot better than the first i will say. howeverrr, i think the ending was a bit rushed ngl. like some scenes into the thinking process or the prepping for events would have been really nice to see in a little bit more in details imo.
still no favorite character bc this book series is not my favorite 🫤. but this is a silvia’s hate household tho! 🙂↕️💗
spice level 🌶️: 3.5/5 still spicy w the details but not too spicy in my opinion
I usually am very pro second book in a series in my opinion they’re usually better then the first. Unfortunately I enjoyed the first book way more, but I still enjoyed this one. The story felt a little slow in parts and rushed in others making the pacing a little off. After reading the first book my expectations were set so high I was just expecting more. It was extremely lacking in the emotion, the back and forth that made book one such a good romance, book two was kind of only peripherally a romance. I would have even liked a book three, or at least a longer second book so the story could have been better played out.
I loved the first book. It had a few editing errors and plot holes. But this one was lacked luster for me. Skipping 6 months was disappointing. I don't mind time jumps but it would have been nice to see some of the planning happened. Not to mention how short this book is compared to the first. Then not showing the first "I Love you" in the chapter when we got to see the events that led up to it was a disappointment. I loved the wedding part tho. Overall it felt rushed I could definitely see this series stretching on for longer than two books if it was done correctly. Good nonetheless.
A solid end to this series, but you could tell she was done with it. Six month time jumps at the end and an epilogue that seemed tacked on. The characters get their HEA, but the relationship tension and character arcs that made the first one so good just wasn't there, especially for one of the POV characters.
What a way to end the Blood Bound books! Satisfying. Fast paced and action packed. The friendships and ties between characters made the killing and bloodshed worth the read. Yes, it’s bloody, brutal sometimes but what do expect from a vampire story?
I am very obviously not the audience for this series or this writer. I literally had no idea what was going on after a certain point. Things were just progressing suddenly and the time jumps of 6 months did not help at all. The whole plot happens in these gaps and we are expected to keep up. Ella Mae should just stick to smut because actual novels don't seem to be for her.
2.5/5 whatever girl, sure. i took a chance and read the tiktok smut book sequel because why not. i can’t say that this is a good book but it was kind of fun. the ending was VERY rushed but i liked kier’s character development over the series.

I really enjoyed the first book, I feel like it did a good deal on creating Keir and Silvias relationship while creating a mystery to look forward to discovering the truth of later on in the series. Unfortunately, this book, in my opinion, threw everything from the last book away besides the idea of the book. Characters got growth, Silvia for example, but it just felt so rushed like everything changed over night, due to the time jumps we know thats not true but we didn't get to see how they changed and what things changed her mind. While on the rush topic, the whole second half of the book just felt rushed and like a fever dream. There were times where they would reference an event we didn't witness and thinking about it would have been a good building scene for the finally. Plots never felt fulfilled Events that the author specifically made a small plot in the first book was just glazed over in the end.
I am kicking myself in the backside for reading this second book after disliking the first one so much. I think I kept hoping Silvia would grow a pair. I can't believe I actually put money in the author's pocket. Trust me, it won't happen again.
Keir was nothing but an egotistical, manipulative, bully. Silvia was weak and easily manipulated. She was the definition of p-w'd There was no love here. Zero. People don't treat the ones they love that way
I was a major fan of the first book, and immediately signed up for the download as soon as the second was available. I have to admit the second seemed rushed to me? So much had happened in such a short time, and the ending was incredibly predictable, and quite abrupt. It was a good series and storyline overall, but this book seemed to rush it.
Why did i do this to myself? Why did i expect this to be any different from the first?
Massive plot holes - No sense of reactions to actions - Issues with Grammar - Less finger blasting that the first which was nice... Actually made it interesting when it happens.
This book has never heard of Gil - Emery pops out of literally no where.
Yet again I couldn't put it down. I love get lost in Elle Mae writings and worlds. You can relate so wonderfully to the passion and issues they all have, feel thier pain and growth.
Tropes: – Vampire x (ex) Vampire hunter – forced proximity – sapphic – 2x badass, sassy FMC – dark paranormal romance – Vampires against Vampire hunters
It took me a bit to warm up to the second book, especially after 2 years passed after the the events at the end of the first one. Dealing with the lapse in time it helps that it doesn‘t feel like two years have passed. There are changes and things that happened in the meantime, but Keir and Silvia are still the same (character-wise), still the characters I know and love. So, the first half of the book is more of a warm-up phase (that doesn’t mean I don’t like it because I do, but I needed time to get into the story), but the second half just SLAYS in the best way. In the second half I was as all-in as I was in the first book, and head over heals in love with the twists and turns. I wouldn‘t say the story goes into an completely unexpected direction (I think you can see that turn of events coming), but that doesn‘t matter in my opinion because the turns are good for the story, and to me it all makes sense now that all the puzzle pieces fall into place.
I loved the first book so much and couldn’t wait for this one. But I think everything was rushed. And it focused more on politics. I wish we could have read more about Silvia navigating her feelings for Keir, struggling between forgiveness and the hate and betrayal she still had for her. I initially thought Emery would be a “love interest” for keir or at least a fling, or maybe Emery trying to make Keir love her. Her plot line was basically none tho she seemed like a great character to keep reading about. Gil was long forgotten after the first few chapters. I didn’t feel like this book was a dark romance at all. What bothered me the most is how rushed the ending was written. No retaliation from the Order? Just like that? I’m left disappointed with this sequel. Only good stuff was the smut scenes and even then sometimes it felt like Elle just wrote it for the sake of the smut and that’s it.
I love that Elle’s books have a plot and make the stories more interesting but I’d like a balance between the plot to make us understand the story and the romance between the MCs and storylines from side characters that are being introduced as regulars

I was right, I did enjoy the sequel! I opened up my Kindle app soon after midnight and was super excited to see Lost Clause available to read. It gave me the action I was looking for and showed off Silvia's skills, which I really appreciate. In this aspect, Lost Clause is a definite improvement.
I had the pleasure of reading an ARC of Lost Cause and enjoyed every minute of it! The pacing and plot truly spoke to me and I devoured this book in a single sitting. There are dark elements to the story but I love seeing badass women come out on top, so ultimately it gave me ~feel good vibes~.
I finished Contract Bound feeling uneasy with the state of Keir and Silvia’s relationship, and not knowing if I was fully invested in seeing them come back together. But reading the second installment of the Blood Bound Duology sealed the deal: I’m team Kilvia down to the bone.
It was delightful to see Silvia step into her power and Keir wear her heart on her sleeve. I loved the character development they both experienced during the time gaps and challenges they faced.
I am glad that Silvia finally got some type of closure about her past and the truth about The Order. It would be fun to see another book set in this world with more vampires/witches/humans allying to take down the other Order locations.
Most of all, I loved that Silvia and Keir were able to build a community that enabled them and their people to genuinely thrive.
“Because together, no matter what, we would make it out alive. And we wouldn’t just survive. . . we would live”
ALSO: my girl Miss Mae knows how to write smut, it’s always such a fun ride!!!

I really loved the first book and couldn't wait to read the second, but this just was not like the first. All the tension of the first novel was all but gone. I feel like she just got bored writing this one. you really didn't go in depth with the characters, but you did get more of Kiers point of view. those seemed like they were in the wrong spots, though. The newer characters she introduced i kept forgetting who was who there just wasn't anything to latch on there. im glad they got their happy ending, but I probably would skip this one. it just wasn't substantial enough and there were alot of holes.
I give this book a 3.5/5. Shorter and less complex than the first one. But it solved all the necessary problems and left me with a strong sense of closure. There were times I was confused about what was happening in the story, but I’m not sure if that was the writing or me reading too fast. I highly recommend reading if you’ve finished Contract Bound.
This book for me went so much faster than the first one. Please ignore the people saying “plot issues” because she intentionally set it up for the second book. I disliked the path to understand the rebels but she pulls it off. I think the final solution felt improbable- but it gives you the HEA so, be happy 😂💜
This was a very fast read. Although the story happened too quickly in the latter part of the book, it wasn’t so bad. Book 1 was much better but I’m glad how Keir & Silvia’s story ended for them.
This was a good ending to a great first book. I did feel it was a bit rushed towards the end and wish I had more details about the planning that went into everything. I did notice a few typing/grammatical errors. But overall, I really enjoyed this duology!
