Hell, a word that not only describes a dark, fiery underworld, but also defines periods in our lives. Thus is the case for the 3 characters, Clara, Nick, and Toni; portrayed in this fiction thriller.
The story line Clara, the unbeliever due to God's lack of intervention; Toni, Clara's friend; homosexual by nature, faithful friend by design; and Nick, a pastor who endures his own trials. Their lives intersect as they each experience turmoil and tragedy in their lives. However, no matter the trials and tribulations that they face, choices must still be made that will determine their future.
Satan, himself has orchestrated a plan to, "Do on Earth As It Is In Hell." What happens as the inhabitants of Hell enter into unsuspecting people, places, and things in the world? What happens when they enter marriages, jobs, record companies, police departments, churches, and political offices? In the battle of good vs. evil, which force will prevail? In this tale, the decisions may shock you!
An agenda is about to be introduced, Satan is wringing his hands with delight as he dispatches evil spirits to Earth in hopes of continuing the cycle of hopelessness, sin, destruction, and ultimately death. In great detail, the layers of the character's lives are peeled away, revealing graphic circumstances that will change them forever; for there is a worst fate that could be faced, an eternity in Hell!
However, the story does not end without the deep, dark, underworld being revealed. Does Hell exist? Who is worthy of its torment and destruction? The story has Deception, Mystery, and Intrigue! With elements of life that seem all too familiar, and real.
It is sure to captivate you, encompass you, consume you; swallowing you whole, only to regurgitate you, releasing you to your own thoughts about its existence.
Life is scarier than fiction; the fate of the world is scarier than this!
Cortina Jackson is the author of, “On Earth as It Is in Hell," and "The Sounds of Silence are the Loudest." She has written articles, appeared on several radio shows, and has presented at speaking engagements that showcase her enthusiasm for fiction/nonfiction works; and her fight against domestic violence and abuse. Cortina holds two Master’s degrees, and has worked in the field of safety, law enforcement, and criminal justice for over 18 years. With Cortina’s experience and knowledge in law enforcement, she has seen firsthand that; oftentimes, life is scarier than fiction. This has given her a basis for the material in her writing that often seems too detailed to be true. Cortina is the proud mother of two sons. She is currently working on her next novel, and she is enthusiastic about sharing her passion for writing with you.
The author of this book takes the time immemorial subject of good and evil and delivers it in an old fashioned way in a contemporary setting. Jackson's writing is at its best when she's describing typical fire and brimstone type scenarios of hell, with demons being tortured for eternity or sent to Earth to sow Satan's seed, but I would have liked to have read much more about that. Unfortunately the book's not as consistent as I would have liked and more thought could have been given to structure. That aside, I very much enjoyed this story, where the emphasis is mainly on the characters; primarily Clara, who is a good Christian striving to make choices for her soul over every day sin, and Nick, the evangelical pastor who's firmly in the service of sin and its master: Satan. There are (sometimes graphic) tales of orgies, abuse, paedophilia, secret societies, hidden political agendas and conspiracies scattered throughout, highlighting some of the hypocrisies of the church and big business politics, and showing the devil's mastery of the world. So, whilst on the one hand, the idea of Satan being everywhere in the material world is nothing new, the modern day conspiracy side of this story is. You only have to do a quick YouTube search to see how many believe in Satanic conspiracies these days. And when it comes to things like government paedophile groups, we're not even in the land of conspiracy; as things that once were called that are now simply indisputable facts- and Jackson bravely delivers such topics well within this novel.

The words written seem to be falling into place before our very eyes. You cannot serve two masters. I was chilled reading, knowing the truth this book warned. We are seeing it everyday, we need to have eyes to see and discern. Must read
