Some nice ideas aimed at more experienced

Great pattern ideas but found it hard to follow and would be great for the experienced crochet crafted but sadly lack of pictures and technical instructions i found myself more confused. I will keep the book in the cloud as hopefully someday I will make something from it. This was advanced and I been crocheting for just over a year and thought myself confident but this i struggled with.

Since I retired I have thought about joining the knitting and crocheting group that meets at our local library every Monday morning to help each other with projects. One of the projects in 16 Crochet Shawl Patterns: DIY Clothing You'll Love appealed to me. I had done a small granny square pattern doll quilt years ago so I felt I could do this pattern. The one I did was the Napa Valley Shawl & Wrap in my own softer colors. It turned out very nice and I love using it on cool evenings.

I liked that 16 Crochet Shawl Patterns had projects for beginners and all the way up to more difficult patterns for people with experience. I also want to thank the group at that library for the help with putting the shawl together and understanding a couple of terms in the pattern that I wasn't sure about. This is a beautiful little book with some beautiful patterns and I will try another one next fall.

16 Crochet Shawl Patterns: DIY Clothing You’ll Love by Prime Publishing
Book starts out with links to other craft pattern sites.
Letter from the editors is included along with links to other tutorials online.
Table of contents where patterns are listed.
Each pattern starts with a title, color photo, designer name and a summary of the item.
Material needed are listed, finished measurements and gauge. Stitch used are listed and special terms are explained in detail. Instructions start and all the patterns are crocheted.
Very easy row by row instructions. Some have a charted diagram also.
There was at least one that is a stole type but it never tells you what else to do besides the 3 rows of instructions. It's not going to be very wide.
Special thanks is included at the end along with a few sample photos of finished items.

A wide range of styles of shawls, from real shawls to wide scarves and a kimono jacket. The photos, one each, were tiny. The diagrams were few. The instructions seemed to be for beginner to intermediate crocheters. The styles were a bit dated, as were the yarn choices, I thought. There is so much more out there today for yarn choices that I don't feel we should limit ourselves.

Worth keeping

It's got pics of the finished project, but they're kinda small....But pics! There's even a few graphs. The instructions are pretty clear. While I haven't wanted to make shawls in the past, a few of these grabbed my attention as projects I'd like to try.

A collection of basic crochet shawl patterns

This is ok for beginners. They're very basic (somewhat boring) shawl patterns. Also, the pictures were too small and you couldn't really see the shawl design at all.

Lovely

Love the variety of styles and patterns included! I am also happy with the range of abilities represented in the selection given. A nice big selection, with a lot of options... hook sizes, kinds and sizes of yarn, I LOVE that flexibility of "My likes, Your preferences, OUR OPINIONS!!" Has been taken into consideration during the writing of this pattern book!
I WILL look for more from

Good for the price.

Its patterns for shawls. It does what it needs to. Posting a review just to get to read it. Makes no sense that I must do this BEFORE reading. Ty Amazon!
