It’s a new semester of training at the Apollo Academy and Aurora Titon is ready to put the previous attempts on her life behind her. With Hailen Odette in police custody, she’s more that ready to focus on her dream of becoming an astronaut with the experience of a lifetime: a trip to space.

Space is everything Aurora dreamed it would be.
Until cadets start dying that is…
A deadly virus is wreaking havoc on Aviary, the space station where Aurora and her classmates are training, spreading quickly and without pattern. Mission Control won’t help them, and Aurora and the remaining cadets are trapped until they solve the mystery and find a way to contain the disease or die in the process. Their only hope is Sky, Aurora’s ex-instructor and late night confidante, who will need to betray everything he believes in and everything he’s trained for to save their lives.

With time ticking away and bodies piling up, Aurora faces the fight of her life, for both herself and the men that she can’t seem to choose between…

KP Lovely holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, which basically means she’s kind of a geek and loves flying airplanes. Naturally, her books tend to include aviation, hot flight instructors, aviator glasses, and — let’s not forget — kissing! When Kimberly’s not writing or reading, she can probably be found at the airport.

Firstly I want to thank the lovely author and NetGalley for kindly providing me with a copy to read and review.

Geeze...this one was intense and sacrifices HAD to be made.....definitely made me cry

Having found out that she'll be heading into space, nothing could get any better for young entrepreneur astronaut Aurora , finally she was heading in the direction that her heart wants her to follow....all she needs to do now, is choose if she wants a male in her life too? and which one?

And of course she's stuck in-between two, seriously HOT, guys, I mean how can a girl possibly choose?

Zane; this guys yet again pulls out all the stops, he's seriously amazing, having learned that he'd been genetically modified as a baby his next quest before flight school re-starts is to get to the bottom of what, how, when and why? BUT, there's only one thing standing in his way...and that my friends is the red-headed beauty that seems to have crept and made residence in his heart....Aurora...

Sky; OMG.! although he took a slight back seat in the beginning he certianly knew how to make an entrance back in the book, one that screams "look who's back" and this is why I'm so torn on which dude to pick, I feel sorry for poor Aurora's heart.

Obviously things start to go haywire when in space, folk start dying, secrets are being kept, and trust/friendships are put to the test

Can this bunch of training cadets learn of the virus and possibly find the cure?

Will they all survive?

Will Zane get the answers he's been searching for? And at what costs?

Totally ends with a cliffy :( so I wonder when we can get the next addition......

I liked the story – cadets trapped on space station with unknown virus picking them off one by one. Wasn’t so keen on the detailed descriptions of the flights/ simulations and technical stuff and skimmed a lot of them. Found the love triangle forced and super annoying because her relationship with Zane is show while the one with Sky is tell. I see a real connection with Zane and we are just told she has feelings for Sky too (for no good reason given they don’t actually spend time together and he was a dick to her in the first book). Also getting a weird RH vibe given how accepting both Zane & Sky are of her feeling for the other.

Intense. Exciting. Breathtaking.

AIRBORNE is a knockout follow up to Kimberly Chases’s APOLLO ACADEMY where the stakes are raised as main character Aurora tackles the dream of a lifetime---training in space. Aurora was born to fly between the stars, but when a deadly virus is released on the ship she’s training on, she’ll have to hone a new set of skills if she wants to stop the bodies from piling up around her. Throw in two incredibly hot men who are fighting for her affections and you’ve got a book filled with glorious tension.

I loved Aurora’s character in THE APOLLO ACADEMY but she’s even more of a badass in this novel. She’s dug deep and found her place among the stars and won’t let a life-threatening virus stand in her way. She’s smart, strong, funny, and able to hang with the best astronauts this side of the galaxy. And she’s an all around delight to cheer for throughout the book.

Chase not only gave us a great cast of characters with their own unique voices, but she filled the book with a believable and incredibly visual futuristic setting. She has such a knack for constructing worlds that are both breathtaking in their beauty and fascinating in their technological advancement. The setting is effortless, and readers can fall into the world without a hitch, immersing themselves into a carefully crafted balance of futuristic beauty.

Tighten your harnesses because AIRBORNE will take you on an intense, action-packed flight through space, where the stakes are high, the tension wire-tight, and the men too hot to choose just one.

So we are back at Apollo Academy and thousands of plots are going on as usual! I love the way Chase writes her characters and builds them from the bottom up so you know why they do what they do! Book 2 is mostly about Aurora recovering from her attack (in book 1) and getting back to school then --> Aurora's trip to space for the first time and impending the drama and danger that ensues! I love the way Zane and Aurora and Kaylana and Akemi all work together to get themselves out of sticky situation - the "life plot" of the book is great...

BUT....there is one thing I don't like ..and that is the LOVE TRIANGLE.
Chase needs to jump off that boat quick and make Aurora pick someone already!!!!

Aurora's passion in the books is saving people (both the world and her fellow cadets), yet she does something as heartless as encourage two people to develop feelings for her?!!?!?!?!?!?! No.
It seems very out of character for Aurora - as we see all the facets of her personality. Someone who is so caring of others when they are upset or scared (like Kaylana and heights) turns around and selfishly strings TWO people along FOR NO REASON?!??! And that is why this book lost two stars - this triangle needs to go.

While I'm excited to read the next installment regarding space and Aurora's possible new job! - I know I will stop the series if the triangle is not resolved. Its too cliche, it bothers me greatly in real life - so reading it makes me even more upset.
