Rate this book
Marisol Deo has spent the last three years with one thing on her mind: her career.

But when her reputation as a model comes crashing down at the hands of her ex-boyfriend and agent, she finds herself at the mercy of the media and desperate for work. And after a night out leaves her vulnerable, and photographed with one of her brother’s best friends, the solution is obvious.

Leo Romano has been back in Ruby Cove for two years, the small town familiarity of where he grew up providing a quiet refuge after he walked away from his security firm. But when the girl he’s been fawning over for years proposes a fake relationship to help fix her reputation, she’s asking more from him than just a fake boyfriend—she’s asking him to go back to the one place he’s been running from. The one place where he can’t escape his past.

As Marisol’s career starts to take off again, and she and Leo grow closer, the time spent back in the city begins to wear on him, and Marisol begins to wonder if the life she’s worked so hard to get back is one really worth living.

Is Leo’s love for Marisol enough to keep him by her side and face his trauma? Or will his past catch up to the both of them, and put a stop to their connection?

This book was sooo good.
The writing was clear and comfortably paced that felt so peaceful (I don't usually comment on the writing but have to for this one)
The way the chapters progressed was smooth enough to keep you going for more.

LEO, our MMC, is an ex-bodyguard/security worker who has lingering trauma from his past which is why he shifted to Ruby Cove to avoid dealing with the nightmares that Sorrento brings. But to close his security business he has to make a trip where a call brings him to a Marisol, our FMC, who's been struggling to find a job post her ex dragging her reputation down.

One thing leads to the other and her agent suggests for them to fake date but there's something that she doesn't know. Leo has been in love with her for years. And a man can only pretend for so long.

Fake dating the woman I’ve wanted to take on a real date ever since I was sixteen. But if this is all I can get for now, then I’ll take it. Even if it is temporary.

The chemistry between the two was undeniably hot, I could feel the heat from the screen!! But it wasn't just physical, they had such a beautiful domestic intimacy that'll make you crave some for yourself.

We go from caring for each other to fighting, to being entirely too close for me to know how to act in these quiet moments.

As a reader who values emotional intimacy over physical, this book delivered perfectly. The way both of them found their peace with each other, protect each other will melt your heart.

I need him to know that I’m here for him, not just the good parts and the goofy parts, not just for the parts where he’s protecting me.
I’m here with him in the bad parts, too. Maybe we can protect each other.

“If you think I’m just going to sit back and watch whatever might happen next, then you don’t know me at all. Because I’ll be damned if anything happens to you while I’m around.”

The flirting, the spice, the falling—was all so good that it left me wanting for more. I was crying in the epilogue it was that heartwarming!!

“What did I always tell you? You tell me when and where, and I’ll be happy to comply.”

It's my first 5 star romance of the year! Thank you Bridie Charles for writing them, can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I’m so sorry to report that this was incredibly underwhelming 😭😭

I loved Burn for You and liked Chasing You, so I hoped that this book, with one of my favorite tropes (faking dating), would be a favorite. However, this whole thing read like an extended epilogue, and I just don’t care for 300 pages of surface-level storytelling 😫😫

Fake dating was a weak trope for this plot line. Aside from brief mentions about Marisol not wanting to risk their friendship, there wasn’t a real, logical reason as to why they couldn’t or shouldn’t date. And actually, how good of friends have they even been since becoming adults? Sounds like they both fled their hometowns and distanced themselves from the family-friend circle early on, so how close were they that they would fear jeopardizing their friendship in the first place? There were no stakes in their “scheme,” and it made the whole thing lackluster.

The plot felt so linear, and the romance fell flat. The events played out like a bullet point list and were unremarkable in general. The romantic relationship was one-dimensional. They were always so sweet with each other—even the one time Marisol got mad at Leo lacked fire. Girlie pop was all bark and no bite; it was boring. There was no buildup to look forward to a fairytale ending since the whole thing was mostly free of genuine tension.

As individuals, there was so much more to explore in their character development. Marisol’s dieting struggle and Leo’s PTSD were described and handled so simply. Their journeys lacked depth and personalization to make the characters feel real and their growth sincere. Also, the reveal explaining Leo’s trauma? Wtf was that?! 😭 He had a lame ass backstory that read like it was written as an afterthought to give his “mysterious” past some kind of basis.

Another underwhelming element was the spice. It lacked an emotional layer, and instead, it felt like it was written for the sake of including heated scenes. These moments did little to show them grow closer through physical intimacy.

The ending was incredibly weak. Let’s be honest, if this were real, Marisol wasn’t gonna get blacklisted or anything for a PR relationship 😭 Even in the court of public opinion, no one would care enough to call for her cancellation 😭

Some writing issues that bugged me:
1. Why are we mentioning the fact that Marisol wears glasses so late into the story?? She wears them all the time, and yet there was nothing about them when she first spent time at Leo’s house.
2. Marisol’s interest in photography came out of nowhere. There were no hints of it in her character, and it felt like a cheap backup plan to get her out of the modeling industry.
3. The word “fucking” is overused and feels so awkward when it’s constantly placed in situations that don’t call for a curse word.
4. Same overuse issue with the words “giggles” and “giggling.”

Other things I didn’t like:
1. Why was Nutella catching strays? They made it to space with the Artemis II astronauts!
2. Leo’s constant finger-pointing pissed me off. Dude was blaming everyone for Marisol’s problems, and I guess it was supposed to be endearing because he’s so “protective,” but it was just annoying.

Overall, this was sweet, but I felt like I was reading an overview of two characters who could’ve easily ended up together without the events of this book.

Thank you very much to the author for the ARC of this book. This is my honest review. All opinions are my own.

Bridie Charles has done it again 👏🏻

Going back to Ruby Cove is like going home. You never truly know just how much you miss it until you’re there.

You truly feel as though you are being transported to the Ruby Cove universe when reading. Bridie’s writing has a way of pulling you in, connecting you with the characters and missing a place you’ve never actually been when you complete the book.
Bridie’s writing is captivating. It pulls you in, keeps you wanting more and has you absolutely dying to know what happens next.
The entire series is, in my opinion, everything you could want in a romance book and more.

Leo and Marisol’s story was incredible.
From the moment these two re-connected it was instant chemistry. Effortless and beautiful.
They were always meant for each other and watching them fall back into place, back into each other, was mesmerising.

One small town it Italy, one fake relationship and a whole lot of undeniable feelings… What more could you want?

"pose for me, covergirl."

this was perfect and so freaking sweet. leo has been down so bad for marisol and it shows. that man is a yearner, albeit silently, but that just makes it so much hotter. i loved how protective and possessive he was over marisol and how he lifted her up without dragging her down; he pushed her just the right amount and it was exactly what she needed. he truly took boy obsessed to a different level and i was salivating for it.

sweet marisol is an angel on earth. i resonated so deeply with her, especially when it came to her relationship with food. eating disorders and disordered eating are two things that are seldom handled with care, but bridie did a perfect job of representing them in this book. this aspect of the book, and of marisol's character, was incredibly important to me.

marisol and leo were the type of hot together that would have you gnawing at the bars of your enclosure from the soft touches and stolen kisses. seriously, leo touching marisol's leg had /me/ yearning, they were that hot. not to mention their polaroid shoot? to die for. i was obsessed and in shambles at the same time.

i loved this book to pieces and i can't wait for what's next! thank you so much to bridie for the e-arc! 💚

ARC Review

To say that I loved this series is an understatement. A part of my heart is forever in Ruby Cove now. It’s a series that puts you in a great place when you read it. Every book in this series is unique and I’m glad I got to read the three previous books before and didn’t end up reading this one only, which is the is the fourth book in this series, because It added to my experience reading “Lost in You” because I have witnessed all of the characters’ growth and development. The series is made up of interconnected standalone books. You can just read this one, but reading all four was a pleasure. The found family vibes and friendship among all the characters was pure perfection. Every story is different but you end up enjoying them all.

I was looking forward to this one a lot because these characters have been present in the previous books more or less, and it was lovely to see how multilayered they can be. How vulnerable they can be and how they also complete the missing pieces for each other. This story is full of everything that you will ever need.

Leo was one of the characters I was rooting for when I started the series, so I was really exited to start reading this one. The way his character unravels as the story takes places shows how complex and multilayered his personality is and how he isn't just the fun guy in the group. I loved how he constantly showed up for Marisol from the start and how he created a safe space for her. I loved how we finally got to see Marisol's perspective which made her more relatable as we got to see her from a different lens than in the previous books.
Seeing how their relationship develops and how both characters went through a journey of healing as individuals and as a couple was special. Their journey was unique in its own way, it was full of growth and development that they needed to make their relationship work.

thank you to Bridie for an e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!!!

Surprisingly enough, this book was the first Ruby Cove book i read, and I actually felt so much fomo that I will be starting the series in the correct order now!!!

Lost In You follows Leo, a former bodyguard, and Marisol, a model who was just smeared in the media by her ex!! Leo and Marisol are childhood friends, and so when the paparazzi catch them leaving together, they decides to embark on a fake relationship to save Marisol's career! Will sparks finally fly? Time will tell 👀

I really enjoyed this book!! It explored these characters separately and together!! Marisol's ED and body dysmorphia struggles are depicted in such a careful way that I really appreciated! Leo's PTSD was also written in a heartwrenching manner, and I really felt for him 🥹 I loved how down bad Leo was for Marisol and how he would do anything to protect and take care of her even before she realized her feelings :,)

Their romance was not too fast nor too slow! It was perfect!! I also lovedddd the found family aspect with all the side characters! I can't wait to read their individual stories because the crumbs I read in this one had me intrigued 🫢

This was such an emotional and sweet book! I really enjoyed it from start to finish, and I can't wait to read what Bridie writes next! 🥹

🫧 tropes 🫧:
- former bodyguard x model
- slow burn
- childhood friends
- fake dating

Returning to Ruby Cove honestly felt like coming home, and I could not wait to finally get Leo and Marisol’s story.

Marisol’s life is turned upside down when her career and reputation take a massive hit thanks to her cheating ex-boyfriend/manager. Watching her try to pick up the pieces while dealing with public scrutiny made her such an easy character to root for.

And then there’s Leo Romano… the brother’s best friend who has quietly loved her for years. Leo was steady, protective, caring, and absolutely swoony without ever feeling over-the-top. The fake dating setup gave these two so many tender and tension-filled moments, and I loved watching their relationship slowly shift into something real.

What really stood out to me was how emotional this story became beneath the romance. Leo’s struggles with his past and Marisol questioning the life she thought she wanted added depth to the story and made their connection feel genuine.

This series continues to make Ruby Cove feel like a place you want to visit. Small-town charm, lovable characters, and romances that pull you in every single time.

If you love:
🤎 Brother’s Best Friend
🤎 Fake Dating
🤎 Friends to Lovers vibes
🤎 Small Town Romance
🤎 Protective MMCs

…then definitely pick this one up.

*This was given to me as an ARC. Thank you Bridie, for the ARC opportunity!* 4.5 true rating

First? I love that we’re in small town Italy, oh my god. But fr, I really liked this book.

Leo’s a man working through a lot of stuff, and Marisol is a woman that just wants to get back up there and feel good about herself. One night changes everything in no time flat.

Did I necessarily like that he’d been pining since they were teenagers? No. Did I like the almost 3rd act breakup? No. HOWEVER — both of these things made up the story, and there’s a reason I said “almost”.

I definitely will recommend this, and I’m definitely going to read the other three in the series!

❝ Were you always this way? I ask.
“Obsessed with you?” he asks. “Yes.”

Quella chiamata cambia tutto.

❝ Were you always this way? I ask.
“Obsessed with you?” he asks. “Yes.”

Marisol is a successful model, or, she was before her ex-boyfriend, who was also her former manager, destroyed her reputation by publicly lying about the real reason their relationship ended. A new manager, connections, and a lot of hard work don't seem to be enough to win back the trust of high-end brands and return to the spotlight.
Until a disastrous night leaves her feeling unwell and doing the one thing she never thought she would: calling her brother's best friend to come pick her up.
Leo, a former bodyguard now running a security agency, wants nothing more to do with that world.
The scars that job left him with, both physical and emotional, taught him in the harshest way how life can change in an instant, and how little time we're truly given.

That phone call changes everything. Within a few hours, Marisol and Leo find themselves on the front pages of every newspaper. Paparazzi photos flood social media, news, and online platforms. After months spent in the shadows, Marisol's name is finally back at the center of media attention.
Finally, pushed by her manager and by the opportunity to rebuild her image, they decide to stage a fake relationship that, from the very beginning, turns out to be anything but fake.
Between evocative settings, found family, shared moments and runway shows, this book was exactly what I was looking for [and maybe even a bit more].

It's not just a love story, it's also a sincere and delicate portrayal of complex themes such as PTSD and eating disorders, which are not merely mentioned here but placed within an authentic and believable context.
There's no sensationalism or romanticization of pain: just a lot of painful reality, and the awareness that, step by step, everything can be faced.

I would like to sincerely thank the author for her trust, for the digital ARC copy, and for giving me the opportunity to read this heartfelt story.

First of all I wanna thank you Bridie for giving me the opportunity to have an ARC copy!
Then I have been waiting for Marisol's story since I get to know her in Burn for you also because we saw a little preview of the situation she got into when he saw her ex hitting on May.
The book stars with Marisol's career which is in a really low place due to her hex who ruin her reputation, Marisol is desperate because for a model living without anyone who book you is really difficult, so to try to forget for a few hours of her situation she hangs out with her bestie, and something happens to her and her first call is her one of her long time brother's bestfriends which is Leo Romano.
Leo Romano after an incident at his previous work, return to Ruby Cove the place were he feel at ease where there are his bestfriends but when he receive the call from her long time crush which is also his bestfriend's sister he can not answer.
And in that moment when Leo rescued Marisol and they got photographed by paparazzi stars the idea of the fake relationship. which in Leo's side it is not fake like you get to noticed since the start of the book.
Being around each other is difficult at first especially in Leo's side, but when the two starts to get closer, they realized that the dificulty is staying away from each other.
If you are looking for a sweet and cozy read that's the book for you, I loved how Marisol and Leo realized each on their own that sometimes love grows through little things, I love Leo possessive and protective side but I also loved Marisol's care and delicacy she have especially when Leo has the nightmares.
I loved also how Marisol and Leo communicates, because before being lovers they are friends and I love the little jokes they made to make fun of each other and their flirty sentences.
Also all the book has this vibes of mystery of why Leo is being back at Ruby Cover and it makes the reader go on with the read since you want to witness the moment Leo explains the reason, another thing I loved about Leo is that he cares about Marisol and once both of them realized that they have feelings of each other even if Marisol has a work where she can be in any place of the Earth, especially after she has given a big opportunity, Leo doesn't ask her to stay with him. but leaves Marisol the choice to chase her dreams without asking her to choose between the work and him.

This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.

Firstly, Thank you so much to Bridie for giving me the opportunity to read this book in advance 🫶🏼This book was seriously just the sweetest! 🥰

Secondly, Ruby Cove has my heart! Coming home to Leo and Marisol's story this time... Things just got a whole lot more interesting 🫣

So our girl Marisol is an aspiring model, but finds herself out of work after her ex-agent/bf publicly dumps her and berates her character. When her bestie tries to cheer her up on a night out, she finds herself dialing Leo for help.

Leo has always loved Marisol, but with her being his best friends little sister and their lives heading in totally different directions, he's had to keep his true feelings locked down. When he unexpectedly receives Marisol's call, instinct kicks in and he is there for her without a second thought.

It's not until social media picks up their story from the nightclub that pushes Marisol back into the spotlight, featuring her new 'amante', Leo. With rumours circulating about their 'budding relationship and job offers now working in her favour, Marisol proposes a fake relationship to Leo in order to save her career.

Leo tries to escape Sorrento - to forget about that night and all the memories that associate with the place he's been running from. However, when Marisol propositions him asking him for help, he doesn't know how to say no to her... even when it means facing his fears straight on.

It's not long before Leo realises the more time spent with Marisol means he's falling in too deep, but will Marisol feel the same way about him, knowing the truth he's hiding?

Honestly, my love for Leo and Marisol was just 😮‍💨!
Leo and Marisol are far from perfect in this book, in which they both have issues to work through. The way they opened up to each other, whilst being honest and vulnerable honestly left me rooting for them! Their stories were so heartfelt, raw and real 💗

In saying that, Marisol's character growth was so beautifully written - a woman finally going after what she truly wanted! Leo undoubtedly is a golden retriever MMC who would do anything for his girl and I loved watching him fall first and hard for Marisol 🤭 and lastly, the found family love of this group!! NO WORDS.... Their love for one another simply knew no bounds and I was all for it!!! 🥰

I was fortunate to be chosen to read and review an ARC of "Lost In You" by Bridie Charles, an interconnected standalone set in her "Ruby Cove" universe that takes place in a small oceanside town in Italy.

The story follows model Marisol, whose career is struggling after a nasty break up with a cheating ex - things are dire with her career prospects dwindling to Nutella (she absolutely doesn't "want to pose with spreads!")

An incident in a nightclub brings former security professional Leo to her aid, and her brother's best friend is reminded of how in love with her he's been over the years. Paparazzi and gossip rags build intrigue and interest back to fuel Marisol's career and her agent sets them on a fake dating scheme to help relaunch her career.

While their relationship rockets Marisol's popularity as planned, the real heat comes from the chemistry between two people who've harbored feelings for each other all along, and who have a lot of healing to do in order to make those feelings work for them.

I really loved the little ways that Marisol and Leo show up and support each other. Marisol helps Leo with his nightmares and gives him a safe space to handle his feelings. Leo helped Marisol feel safe and strong in her decisions, and I really loved how he empowered her to take baby steps where her eating disorder was concerned.

Bridie Charles presents two main characters who have their own trauma to heal from and shows that healing in their relationship, and also individually in a really beautiful way.

🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤

"The one thing I forgot to mention is that I have never been able to say no to Marisol Deo."

"I fell in love with this girl when I was eighteen... I'll never tire of her."

"Just because there's no one shouting in your face for your downfall doesn't make the gut punch any less painful,"

"He looks at me like he would get on his knees and bark if I asked him to, simply because I'm the one asking."

"Consequences in the morning."

this book is perfect for you if you love;

- slowburn

this entire series is literally one of my favs forever & i have rated every book 5 stars!! every time again, there isn’t even a single doubt in my mind about what i’m going to rate it, every time again i am so obsessed 🙂‍↕️
i have no idea how bridie does it but every time i read a book from hers, it’s even better than the previous one!!

ever since leo was first mentioned in bound to you, i grew so curious about him, wondering why he left his job, and i was so intrigued with marisol too when she was mentioned in burn for you! when bridie announced book 4 was going to be about them AND had fake dating (one of the most superior tropes out there) I WAS SOLDDD!! i was genuinely tearing up when reading this beautiful book, both the characters were so beautifully written and had so much backstory and their own struggles, which i loooove 💌

i love every character in the entire series so much, like this is genuinely the best found family out there!!! their teasing, banter but also their care for each other and constantly showing up for the others is so cute, i’m obsessed 😭😭 i wanna be with them

i can’t wait for heath’s book but it also pains me to know that that will be the final one in the RC series 🥲

Thank you to the lovely author for providing this e-arc!

Everything Marisol has ever wanted is to be a model, and she made it to the top of her game until her petty ex-boyfriend (and agent) decided to ruin her reputation, which gives her no choice but to start all over again.

Leo willingly left his security business and Sorrento after an accident that still haunts him in nightmares. But when he goes there to sell the business, he receives a call from Marisol, his best friend's little sister, to go help her.

Fate works in funny ways, because after he rescues her, the papparazi go crazy over her being with a handsome and mysterious man. He might be exactly what she needed to be known again. So they start a PR relationship so she can be back to the top of her career and so he can show her that he can be more than her brother's funny best friend.

I adored the characters in this novel, both the protagonists and the secondary characters. They seemed so real, complex and very easy to love. I was rooting for their happiness and caring about their personal journeys every step of the way. This was also helped by the fast pace of the novel that flowed effortlessly, to the point that I read 80% of it in one sitting and my interest was present at all times.

I give it 4 stars only because the end seemed a bit dragged after flowing so freely the rest of the time, but by all means, this is a perfect rom-com with an emotional side that keeps things lighthearted and sweet.

This friends to lovers romance between an ex-bodyguard and famous model was a low angst, comfy read. There was a little secret pining, slow burn tension and small town/found family vibes.

I loved Leo! He was a sweetheart hero and I loved getting to know him. Marisol was a harder sell for me. She was a little clueless, especially when it came to Leo but the more I got to know about her, the more likable she became. She had her struggles and it made her a little stand-offish, even with her closest friends/family.

Watching Leo give her the support, affection and love she needed to finally come out of her self imposed shell was the best part of their story. I loved watching her reclaim herself and embrace her true self.

This love story had romance, spice, emotional growth and real depth. Not what I expected but was still charmed by the overall story. I honestly was just happy Leo was happy!

Favorite Bits:
🖤 Leo always taking care of Marisol
🖤 The friend group
🖤 The slow burn 🔥

Lost in You follows Leo Romano and Marisol Deo. Leo is an ex-bodyguard, and Marisol is a struggling model after her ex-boyfriend lied on her and tanked her reputation. On a night out, Marisol is in need of help, and Leo comes to the rescue. This rescue leads to a news article after paparazzi captured the moment, and this article gains attention for Marisol because everyone is wondering who Leo is. Marisol proposes a fake relationship to save her career, and Leo is more than willing to help because he has wanted her since they were teenagers and will help her by any means necessary. As time moves on, Leo and Marisol navigate their feelings while helping each other overcome their problems.

Lost in You is book 4 of the Ruby Cove Series. Even though I didn’t read the first 3 books, I still enjoyed Lost in You very much. I had such a good time reading this book. It flowed so smoothly I was sad when it ended. I love the relationship between Leo and Marisol. Leo has so much love and respect for Marisol, and I loved how he continued to be patient with her through her battles and vice versa. They both wanted what was best for each other, and it turned out it was them who brought out the best in one another. I loved the other characters in the book, and I can tell they all really care about each other. They are so supportive and loving. I have to read the first 3 books of the series, and I can’t wait to see whats in store for the series.

I am struggling to find the words to express how much I loved this book. If you give me a fake relationship, I will eat that up immediately, and this was wonderfully executed.
I urge you to read this book. Ruby Cove feels like home, you are welcomed into this family of chaotic and beautiful characters who love & support each other in a way that jumps off the page and makes you fall in love with them all.

I love Marisol, and I love Leo, but together they are the perfect mix of soft and tough. They fit together beautifully, I genuinely think they were made for each other. Leo gives Marisol the strength to stand up for herself and fight her eating disorder, and Marisol gives Leo that safety and sense of home that he craves.
As someone who has PTSD, and has had disordered eating for 20 years, reading this was hard but it was so worth it.
The way Bridie wrote these characters who struggled with these issues was beautiful and so well done. She approached them with respect but wasn’t scared to show the messy side of living with PTSD and EDs.

I hope Bridie gives me a Heath book next because that man deserves to feel the same all consuming love that his friends have. And not just from goats 😂

Thank you so much to Bridie for this eARC. I loved coming home to Ruby Cove, and just like always, I never want to leave.

Thanks to Bridie for the ARC of this amazing book! 💛

I’ve been reading the Ruby Cove Series since book one, and I genuinely feel like every single book gets better and better!!

This book follows Leo, a former bodyguard who, after a traumatic event, decides to sell his company while dealing with his PTSD, and Marisol, a model trying to rebuild her reputation after breaking up with her boyfriend, who also happened to be her agent. After their breakup, he lied about the reason for it and basically ruined her career.

One of the things I love most about this series is the characters and the found family dynamic. I love seeing what’s happening in everyone’s lives, and I especially love how supportive they all are of each other. It makes Ruby Cove feel so comforting and real.

Now talking about this book specifically… the characters were amazing, and the story was SO cute. I loved seeing Leo and Marisol slowly become vulnerable with each other. Their relationship felt really emotional and genuine, and I was rooting for them the entire time.

The pacing was also really good. It’s such an easy and fast read, but still emotional enough to keep you completely invested. Honestly, I was kind of in a reading slump before this book, but I absolutely devoured it. I finished it in like two days 😭

Please do yourself a favor and read this book… and honestly, the entire Ruby Cove series while you’re at it 🫶

Lost In You Review 💄🚘

I received an ARC for this book, so I want to thank Bridie Charles and Love Notes PR for sending it to me! Once again, I decided not to read the previous book in the series, and while I did miss some context about other characters and their stories, it didn’t affect my experience too much.

In this book, we have Leo, a retired bodyguard, and Marisol, a model who is going through one of the most difficult times of her life.

Right from the start, we learn that our characters have known each other since their teenage years, and with that, we also learn that Leo has always had a crush on Marisol. But being friends with her brother, he never crossed that line.

Marisol’s ex really did a number on her career. He lied about her, lied about their relationship, and that is costing her jobs, her reputation, and her peace. A night out at a club is exactly what she needs, until the next morning, when she wakes up in a house she doesn’t recognize, but with a man she knows she is safe with.

From that moment on, Leo and Marisol feel like endgame. They respect each other’s boundaries, they support one another, and they are always there when needed. I loved how Leo is both cocky and vulnerable at the same time, and how Marisol is confident and insecure all at once.

I really enjoyed this book, so I’m giving it a 4.5 ⭐ read. 💄🚘

When I started Lost in You, I didn't realize it was the fourth book in the series, and I loved it anyway!

If there's one thing I don't normally love reading about - it's oprivaledged people whining... and if that's you as well -- REST ASSURED - Our heroine may be a model - but she's the furthest thing from a whiny privileged character you can't relate to.

What I loved most about Lost in You, wasn't the tender and sweet romance between an incredibly sweet man and a confident woman (although that was wonderful too!)... what I really loved most was that Marisol felt like a real person who although had a lot going for her at one point... never felt entitled and then pivoted to a some choices I think I would've made myself. Big positive life changes always make me happy to read about!

HOUSEKEEPING:
* Spice: 🌶️🌶️/5 - Sweet more than salacious IMO
* Reader Age Suggestions: adult
* Content Warnings: Drugging at club / Attempted SA mentioned but not detailed
* Kindle Unlimited: ✅
* Part of A Series: ✅ / Can it be read alone?: No

**Thank you to Bridie Charles for the book! I received this book for free, but all thoughts are my own. – SLR🖤

Years of (secret) mutual yearning coalesce in this small Italian town romance.

This book is as much about healing old wounds and learning to live for yourself as it is about love. We see the power of community in this town, and a real sense of protectiveness over those our main characters love.

I really appreciated the progression of Marisol and Leo’s relationship; nothing felt forced. While they showed up for one another as no time had passed, I liked how they realised they aren’t who they once were, and that their friendship needed to be built upon.

I read Lost In You as a standalone, having never read the ‘Ruby Cove’ series before. While I missed out on some of the backstory of the group dynamics, I appreciated being able to focus on Marisol and Leo’s relationship. That being said, I will be adding books one to three to my TBR!

Some themes present aren’t necessarily typical of light-hearted romances, but are incredibly important nonetheless. Content warnings to be aware of are an eating disorder (FMC), grief, and PTSD (MMC). The PTSD representation, in particular, was done very well.

Thank you to the author, Bridie, and the publisher for the chance to read this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

There’s something really special about returning to Ruby Cove. Every time I pick up one of Bridie Charles’ books, it feels familiar in the best possible way — comforting, emotional, and impossible to put down.

What stands out most to me is how immersive her storytelling is. The setting feels so vivid that Ruby Cove almost becomes a character itself, and by the end of the book I found myself wishing I could stay there a little longer.

Leo and Marisol completely stole my heart. Their connection felt natural from the start, and the way their relationship developed throughout the story was both emotional and believable. You could feel the history between them in every interaction, which made their journey together even more compelling.

I also loved the pacing of the romance. It never felt forced — everything unfolded in a way that felt genuine and heartfelt. Bridie Charles has such a talent for creating characters you become deeply invested in, and this book was no exception.

For anyone who loves emotional small-town romance with strong chemistry, memorable characters, and a story that stays with you after the final page, this series is absolutely worth reading.

📖 Genre: Fake Dating Romance
🔥 Spice: Medium
🏷 Tropes: Small town, fake dating, found family, brother's best friend, friends to lovers, slow burn, he falls first

Summary:
To save her crumbling modeling career, Marisol asks her brother's best friend, Leo, to be her fake boyfriend after he rescues her from a night out gone wrong. What she doesn't know is that he's been pining after her since they were teenagers and would do anything for her. As they navigate this fake relationship, the fake part starts feeling all too real.

My thoughts:
This was a fun book that kept me engaged the entire time. Leo and Marisol's stories were deep, well-developed, and heartfelt, and had me rooting for them from the beginning. Their found family of friends was loving, heartwarming, and fun. They definitely made me want to go back and read the previous books in the series.

I love an MMC who falls first and hard. Leo is the best cinnamon roll, yearning, book boyfriend who will do anything for his girl. It is a slow burn, but when it does start burning, hold on to your panties.

I enjoyed Marisol's perspective and how it changes throughout the story. Her growth and lightbulb moment were believable and not rushed.

Overall I great read, making me want to read the rest of the series.

4⭐️

Arc received by Bridie Charles.

After Marisol Deo’s modelling career starts going downhill thanks to her ex-boyfriend, who was also her agent, she’s left with no new offers. Leo is running away from his past, trying to sell his very successful business back in Sorrento he leaves his peaceful town called Ruby Cove and expects to be there for a handful of days but on the first day back he gets a very stressful call from Marisol, the girl he’s had a crush on since he was eighteen. With paparazzi and media involved, Marisol decides to ask Leo to be in a fake relationship, but for him it might get real.

When I received the ARC of this book and found out it was the fourth book of the series I decided to start from the first book and I’m glad I did that because the found family in this series is one of the best I’ve read. I loved this book so much, Leo was a character i loved from the first book and his character development was the best thing to read. Marisol is the best FMC of the entire series hands down, she’s a very relatable character and I loved her character growth. Leo and Marisol were very beautifully written, the angst was also serving. My only issue was the pacing, it was perfect till 70% of the book but the last 30% was very rushed.

🌸Lost In You by Bridie Charles🌸

This is book 4 in The Ruby Cove series but can be read as a standalone.

Release Date - 29th April 2026. Thank you @authorbridiecharles for the ARC.

Book 15 for my ANZ April Readathon Challenge (@aussie_indie_hub).

Marisol Deo has spent years building her dream career… only to have it ripped out from under her in the most public way possible.

Enter Leo, her brother’s best friend (who’s been quietly in love with her for years), and a possible solution....a fake relationship.

Leo has always been all in for Marisol but agreeing to this means returning to a life (and a past) he’s been trying hard to leave behind.

I loved watching Leo navigate his trauma while loving Marisol the way he always has.

And Marisol’s journey trying to rebuild her career while questioning if that life is even what she wants anymore added a deeper layer to the story.

4⭐3🌶️ *I received this ARC from the author and I'm leaving this review voluntarily*

If you love a sweet, small town romance mixed in with a bit of drama, Lost in You is the book for you!

The plot was fairly light and easy to follow, and the depiction of Marisol's troubles with her body image within her modeling career were handled delicately and in a way that felt relatable.

I really loved Leo's character, I'm a sucker for a protective soft MMC and Leo is just that. He's dependable, caring, soft, protective and a full blown gentleman( when it matters🫣).
His vibe is giving "it's always been you" and I was absolutely here for it.

The only things that kept me from rating 5⭐ was the lack of an exciting or dramatic ending. I wish the situation with Marisol's ex and his new girl, had a bigger and more meaningful resolution, it felt a bit anticlimactic. I also would have preferred a bit more angst between the MCs.

All in all, it was a very enjoyable romance book and I would definitely recommend you give it a chance! 💕✨
