My Thoughts - 4 out of 5 Unicorns - I really liked it!!!
The cover is definitely appealing with the sexy chest and the beautiful grizzly on the cover :)
I bought this ebook back on February 1st about two weeks after it was published and before the price changed to free :) This is a novella serial series meaning it publishes in parts but they are all part of one whole like a TV series with episodes. This is about 40 pages and a quick read, and you can get it for free so bonus for you :) You should be aware that this serial is not complete at this time, so if you are a reader who does not like to wait for the next part, you may want to hold off on reading until it is complete :)
I totally enjoyed this read. This is hard to explain, but I felt good reading it :) Maybe it is being a BBW woman myself, but I can’t quite put into words why this book just made me feel happy reading it…especially the pool drama because Cassidy rocks :) This book doesn’t have a ton of action, but at no time did I feel bored or like it was slow. It was plain and simple a great read :)
This is my first time reading anything by Emerald Wright, and I can’t wait to read more :) Her writing makes you feel like you are right there seeing everything happen and both Cassidy and Abe are wonderful characters and I really like both of them already and can see myself falling in love with their story as it goes. Her writing is like eating comfort food :) just wonderful :)
I recommend this story to those people who love a good shifter read and who don’t mind it in the form of a serial :) I’m off to read Part Two now :)

O m g, I so loved this book!! I got into it, and so can not wait for part 2, etc. I really really love Cassidy and Abe, and I hope more shifter books are to come, like the two shifter police officers :-)

I received an ARC of Shifter. It was actually a great book. I have recently got into Bear Shifter books. So I was super excited to receive this book. The fact that the author wrote a book about an author who writes about shifters and meets a shifter in real life I found interesting and amusing.
How my heart broke for Cassidy. If you ever been over weight in your life you will relate to this book. She had to put up with criticism concerning her weight. It caused her to be self-conscious. My heart truly broke for her.
Cassidy who was wanting to make some new changes to a book she was writing had approached her editor about the changes. Her editor did not like it at all for she did not have the time. So her editor referred her to a new editor who might help her out.
Cassidy was excited when she received the email from the new editor agreeing to meet. Wow how Abe (the new editor) took her breath away when she saw him. He was like mouth dropping, panting melting sexy.
Cassidy who gets herself into trouble has to rely on Abe to help her out. Want to know what trouble she got herself into? How about if things heated up between Abe and Cassidy? Well read the book.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves shifter books. It was a great read and I cannot wait to see what happens in the next book.

I'm new to the bear shifter genre, and Emerald Wright's Grizzly was a delight. I'm in the process of gobbling up the series and waiting (impatiently ;-) for the third book.
Cassidy, the heroine, makes me laugh out loud. Her enthusiasm for life comes through the page. You can't help but root for her. Especially during the swimming pool incident. I was cheering her the whole way to the police station.
Her chemistry with Abe, the bear shifter, is not only hot, but it's sweet too. Emerald Wright manages to balance the hot, sexy factor with sweet relationship stuff too. Plus they both love food, and I love food too--although I don't approve of "floppy" bacon. I want to read about characters eating and loving food! (Yes, that might make me weird but there ya go.)
The other aspect of this story that really hooked me is that Cassidy is a writer--she writes novels about shifters. But her secret project is a novel that she absolutely loves but is worried she can't sell. Relating to characters is an important element for me, and I ended up loving both Cass and Abe.
This book is fun, romantic, and sexy. Like I said before, I'm greedily reading as much as I can of the series. I'm hoping that in the third book, Abe shifts in front of Cass, and she gets the opportunity to pet his furry bear ears. OK, maybe that's MY fantasy. But here's hoping!

I received this book and was just asked to give an honest review. I enjoyed reading this book it has a different perspective compared to most shifter books I have read. I enjoyed that it was about an author who writes shifter books. Then as a twist she meets a bear shifter who likes her curvy body but she is unaware that he is a shifter Its a cute story about how she enjoys his wonderful body that reminds her of the men she writes about and about the mutual attaction. I would recommend this book because it is entertaining. I definately want to read part two.

I really liked this book. Cass is a paranormal romance writer who needed some one to re write the last 3 chapters of her book before publishing. Her editor couldn't or that is what she told Cass. So she recommend a new guy to try out, but what Cass doesn't know is he is a grizzly bear. Well warn you all that it is a series and has a cliff hasn't end, but it is a good read. Author did good so far cause I can't wait for book two.

LOVE IT!! I greatly enjoyed every moment of reading this story. I connected at a very deep level with the main characters and it did not take me long to read through it. I was bummed to actually reach the last page but I looking forward to reading part two in this series and I will be looking into reading more of this authors books.

Great beginning
Cassidy, Sexy and curvy successful writer meets a new editor (Abe) who is a hunk of a man and a bear. Attraction and sparks are almost immediate. But Cassidy doesn’t know the genre she’s made most of her money in, shifters, are real. This is a well written and very enjoyable beginning to a new series.

Interesting short, look forward to reading more. Loved the BBW angle, the way it was portrayed. Not every one is the perfect size. This story had a realistic feel, despite being PNR.

This story had me hooked from the start, probably because the main characters were an author and an editor lol.
From the start of the book, you wouldn’t know that it was a shifter romance but you find this out about three quarters of the way in.
I enjoyed the book so much that I had to go and buy Part 2 to continue the story and see what happens.

This is the sweet beginning of a love story. That is if Abe can learn to trust his instincts and Cassie can believe that someone as handsome as Abe can be interested in all her curves. Part 1 leaves you waiting for part 2

I fell in love with these two characters. It's refreshing to read about a woman who's got herself together, who's confident, and funny. And it's a really sweet story. I'm looking forward to seeing what's next with these two.

Great Series Starter
Cassidy and Abe have a wonderful story starting here. She is a writer in need of an editor, he is a Bear Shifter who happened to be an editor. I really enjoyed the beginning of this story. The only thing keeping me from offering a higher star rating is the fact I have to buy three other books to finish their story. Maybe someday I will come back to this fun read.

So far the story has a strong start and I cannot wait to read the complete series. So far, there is a good sense of the two characters and what each will bring to the rest of the story ,

Though Cassidy wrote shifter novels, she never actually believed they existed until Abe walked into her life. Not only was he a shifter but he awakened the shifter dormant in her.
This was a pleasure to read. It was refreshing to see a heroine who is unsure of herself and to see their love growing. I give it 4 stars.
