Mr. Jin agreed to take care of a friend’s son, not expecting that his friend would pass away unexpectedly, leaving the boy orphaned. The boy is renamed Jin Zhao. Three years later, Mr. Jin’s wife, Ms. Jiang, becomes pregnant and gives birth to a daughter named Jin Mu.

The immense pressure of daily life causes increasing tension between the couple. When Jin Mu is nine, her parents reach an agreement to divorce. She goes to live with Ms. Jiang in the south, while Mr. Jin takes Jin Zhao to a small town in the north. From that point on, they live in separate worlds, never to cross paths again.

Eighteen years later, when Jin Mu is 18, Ms. Jiang, now with her second husband, decides to immigrate. In the meantime, Jin Mu is temporarily sent to stay with her father, Mr. Jin, where she unexpectedly reunites with Jin Zhao, whom she hasn’t seen in nine years. The names “Zhao” (朝) meaning “morning” and “Mu” (暮) meaning “evening” symbolize the relationship between day and night, reflecting a timeless bond that persists despite their separation.

ceritanya bener bener bikin terharu, walaupun tidak terlalu banyak pov maleleadnya, tapi ini mengharukan sebagaimana mumu selalu menyukai chao chao dan berjuang untuk cintanya, dan chao chao yang yang selalu ingin membuat mumu bahagia bagaimanapun keadaannya, dan di dalam serial dramanya pun ceritanya sangat menarik, aku baca novelnya karena ketemu serial dramanya duluan 😍
