Avid reader, writer, mother, and wife! I love to read contemporary romance. Add in a little "spice" or hot guys in uniform pants, and I'm a happy woman. There's just something about diving into a book and engrossing in the magic of your hero and heroine getting their happily ever after.

I’m so glad that I stumbled upon Lacey Black. She has become one of my favorite authors and one of my go to authors when I’m in a reading slump. And her books always pull me out.
This book is part of the series, but can be read as a standalone but it helps to have read the precious books. Which are also really great by the way.
I just love the world and characters of Rivers Edge that Lacey Black hands created. Fun, loving .sexy and above all family. I loved the Family dynamics of the Stevens family , they are so much fun to read and to follow, and rather realistic. What I also love about these books is that the side characters are just as important as the main couple. They play and equal role in each book.
Now to our main couple for this book. We have Travis Stevens this book and his one night stand Josselyn form the end of last book at his sister’s wedding.
I really enjoyed those two …… and how they handled the pregnancy. In fact Travis after the shock of the news was great. He did everything he could to make sure she and the baby are taking care of. He actually was really happy. He worked hard to make everything perfect. He ever worked a little too hard at times. But I could understand where he was coming from a little. And I really never doubted him, his feelings toward Joss or the baby.
While I really liked and enjoyed Joss, I also thought she could have been a little more interdependent. Even pregnant and in a new town I thought she could have done a little bit more for herself and maybe even for the baby and Travis. Yes, she fit perfectly into the family and they took her in as one of their own but I thought she was just a little to depended on them and Travis at times. But overall it all fit into the story line and just fit.
Travis and Joss of course have some wicked chemistry and know how to set the sheets in fire, pregnant or not. I thought they were the perfect match for each other and balanced each other out nicely.
The ending was while predictable absolutely prefect and I really could not see a better ending to their story.
Overall, great book and I look forward to see more of the Stevens family in the next couple books.
I rate it 4 ★

3.5 out of 5 stars.

Don't get me wrong, I still enjoyed this book. I love the series, but I love the family even more.

I didn't feel like I ever fully connected with these two characters. I almost feel like their whole story was very rushed, and it was. I get that, but I still felt like there was just something missing in this book. I loved the first book of this series. I fell hard for Avery and Maddox, and little Bean. I also loved the 2nd book, and fell for Jake and Erin too. I enjoyed Travis and Josselyn, but I guess I didn't fall for them. I think with this story line, I needed and wanted more. I think of there was a book 2, for their story alone, that would push me over the edge with them, and I would enjoy them so much more. I would believe their story.

I still adore Lacey Black and her series. I love this family, and am fully addicted.

FIVE 'I WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR YOU' STARS!

Lacey Black has struck steamy, small town romance gold with the third book in her exceptional Rivers Edge series. I am a huge fan of small town romances, and Expect Me is irresistible. Ms. Black has created a cast of characters that are all likable and relatable with plot lines that are realistic. She has mastered the art of drawing a reader into her story through her writing; it was impossible for me to not become invested in these characters and their stories.

"That moment, that connection felt like something monumental and epic."

Josselyn McCray and Travis Stevens met at Travis' sister's wedding where Joss was working as a waitress. The first time Travis laid eyes on her, he was immediately taken with her and was unable to take his eyes off her. Joss has noticed him, too. They had a very brief conversation, and Travis is struck by his immediate, unmistakable attraction to her. Joss feels this crazy connection, too. As he works up the courage to speak to her again, Travis has an accident. Joss takes him home, and they end up sharing a very passionate night together. Travis wakes up alone the next morning. Unable to forget Joss, he's haunted by thoughts of her for months after that night. His life is stalled, and he's unable to move on from the memory of Joss.

"Time to face the man who changed my life forever..."

Two months after that night, Joss has confirmed that she's pregnant. She's had a rough few months, her pregnancy hasn't been easy thus far, and she's now jobless and homeless. Her best friend, Matty, has convinced her that it's time to tell Travis. Joss is a good girl; she's kind, she's hardworking, but she's a bit at loose ends not knowing what it is she wants to do with her life. She has a tumultuous relationship with her overly ambitious family because she's hasn't taken the professional path they hoped she would take.

Travis is 27, and he's the youngest of the four boys in the Stevens family and an older brother to sister, Avery. He works alongside his father in the family construction company. He's genuinely a good guy. He's kind, he's loyal and supportive, and he's just alpha enough to be super protective without being overpowering. He's not a man-whore like his brother Nate is and Jake was, he's a one-woman, committed relationship kind of guy. His night with Joss was not his normal behavior, and in fact, it has left him very unsettled as he has been unable to move on. So when Joss shows up on his doorstep unannounced, he is surprised and thrilled to see her. Joss explains why she's there, and while surprised at first, Travis handles the news spectacularly. He's excited that he's going to be a dad, he's happy that Joss is back in his life, and he's all in.

"I want to be there for you and our baby."

They have a lot to figure out, and Travis, who is afraid she'll bolt from his life again, convinces her to stay with him while they work through everything and take the time to get to know each other. They agree, though, that despite this intense attraction between them, they have to get to know each other as friends first before they can consider anything else.

"Everything about you makes me want more."

They spend a lot of time together and are slowly getting to know each other. Travis is with her every step of the way. He is very forthcoming, wanting her to know all of him as well, and he shares his dreams with her, taking her to see his pride and joy, the home he is building for himself. The desire they have for each other has not lessened, their feelings for each other have deepened, and they finally cross the bridge from friends to lovers. Travis becomes obsessed with finishing the house, putting a great deal of pressure on himself to get their new home done for Joss and their baby. Unfortunately, he becomes so singularly focused on this project, that he unwittingly pushes Joss away and alienates her in his quest to finish. Gone is her previously attentive and very much present Travis, and Joss is lonely, hurt, confused by his absence. She is convinced that he is pulling away from her, and completely heartbroken, Joss leaves him. Travis is completely shaken by what he learns about himself in the wake of Joss' departure. He is ashamed of the way he treated her, and he carries tremendous guilt that he left her alone to deal with everything.

"You and the baby are all that matters to me."

Travis gives Joss the space that she needs, but it is not easy on him. He misses her so much it hurts. He redoubles his efforts and focuses on getting the house done so that he can win back his girl. When he finally does see Joss again, it's at such an emotional, poignant time for them both. Joss loves Travis, that's never been in question, but can Travis convince Joss that he feels the same?

Lacey Black has given her readers another stellar story in this series. Given that this is only her third novel, the quality of her writing is very impressive. She is an amazing storyteller, and she has a special style that completely captures the reader's attention. I've become a big fan of the talented Lacey Black, and I look forward to more from this exciting new author.

I was lucky enough to be asked to beta read once again and can't wait for its release! This is the third novel in the Rivers Edge Series. Each book is about a different couple so they can also be read as stand alones. Each story is different but all full of love, family and of course so sexy times...

The minute Travis laid eyes of Josselyn at his older sister's wedding he could not look away. He was not usually shy around woman but she was different, he could only see her in the banquet room. Of course the rest of the family noticed this as well since he was ignoring everything coming out of their mouths. He felt stalkerish the way he couldn't look away but when she looked at him, he knew something was there. After some awkward but sweet moments of chatting they went back to Travis's place and had one amazing night together but by morning Josselyn was gone...

Travis could not stop thinking about Josselyn and she could not stop thinking of him even after two long months. She left his bed without warning and he just wasn't the same. One thing that helped was that he started working on a dream construction project. It kept him busy enough but he still missed those hazel eyes. Then one day, they were there on his doorstep and with news that would change the rest of his life. Their lives.

Now that Josselyn was back in Travis's life, he was not letting her go. He wanted to be there for her and their pending arrival. The lust they had for each other was still there but first they needed to get to know one another as friends before getting more involved. Josselyn is welcomed with opened arms into the Stevens Family and its a big change form what she is used to with her own.

While Travis and Josselyn are getting closer there is also something pulling them apart. Travis has put himself under pressure to complete his project even faster than before so he doesn't spend much time at home. It's for their future but it will not be the future he sees if he doesn't put Josselyn's needs first. She is lonely and feeling caged in between the walls of their apartment. Can Travis balance his responsibilities or will they break them apart?

I love Travis, he is sweet, hardworking and stepping up to the plate but just needs to relax a bit. Josselyn is strong, supportive and understanding. As a couple they bring out the best in each other and bring out the sexy too. Travis makes her feel wanted even when she doesn't feel her sexiest but things are not always perfect. Relationships are a lot of hard work especially in this type of situation.

I laughed, I cried and had all kinds of mixed emotions and I can't wait for the next book! It was awesome to see the rest of the crew and to see what they are up to after their stories. The Stevens family is one of my favorites.

Quotes:

She has no clue that I have not gone on with my life. In fact, my life has been stalled since I woke up that morning alone. Two long months ago.

She’s like a witch – a sexy, beautiful witch who casts some sort of spell on me, leaving me yearning and panting for more. More that I can’t have. Yet.

Josselyn steps into the room like she owns it; her eyes glued to mine. That’s one of the things that drew me to her all those months ago. She’s confident, passionate, and it is unbelievably sexy.

Lacey is an up and coming author with incredible potential. Expect Me is the third book in her Debut Series Rivers Edge. I accidentally stumbled across her first book Trust Me and have been hooked ever since.

Travis Stevens is the second to youngest of the five Stevens kids. He is loyal, loving, swoon worthy as well as hardworking.

Josselyn McCray is one of two children with having a sister, but doesn’t have much to any contact with her family; instead having her gay best friend Matty who’s there for her throughout everything.

Travis & Joss meet and hook up one night after a party and have one explosive fun time..

After Joss sneaks out in the morning they both don’t hear from each other for 2 months until she comes knocking at Travis’ door with a bombshell.

They decided to tackle the new revelation head on and are doing a fantastic job untill Travis gets distracted by work and technically neglects Joss. I fully empathized with her feelings during this whole ordeal especially when she was going through medical problems with the pregnancy and basically doing it alone as Travis was always working. With being diagnosed with Pre Eclampsia myself with my first, I found Lacey done a fabulous job creating the scenario and placing the feelings that Joss was feeling.

The whole book had so much emotion packed in to it, which was awesome. there was heat, romance, happy times as-well as some sad moments. One emotional time for me was when Travis came home to find Joss wasn’t there..

The ending was the perfect way to finish and I just love a good old epilogue!

Each book in the series can be read as a standalone but I fully recommend reading them in order to get the full effect! Well done Lacey on another amazing book and I cannot wait for Protect Me to release in April.

Ok so I really love this series and I was excited to visit the lives of some of the supporting characters again so that played a part in my rating for this book. When it comes to just this story I didn't give it five stars because the tone of the story was kind of inconsistent to me. At the beginning it's almost dream-like we are in the characters' heads so much and then about halfway through it's as if we're dropped into the present. Other than that I really enjoyed the storyline and as I said the supporting cast was great. The character development for the main characters was pretty good although there were areas where more background into the why of some of their actions would have been appreciated. Overall this was a good step along the story arc of this series. Great writing Ms. Black :)

4 Travis and Josselyn Stars

The Rivers Edge series continues with this sweet story about Travis ( the 4th youngest Stevens boy) and Josselyn, a pretty waitress. They both break their own rules and have a one night stand together , with long lasting repercussions. Good story~ these are easy, light reads with some heated passion in places although this book had less than the previous two I thought. I would have liked a bit more character development for Joss , but overall a really enjoyable read

Expect Me is the third book in the Rivers Edge series.

This is Travis Stevens story. Expect Me is my favorite novel....so far...in the Rivers Edge series. This novel gave me all the feels!

When I first read the synopsis for this novel I was thrilled. I had been wondering who the brother that finds himself with a baby on the way after a one night stand was going to be. I was shocked when I found the brother in question was Travis.

Not only was this novel sexy as hell, I mean come on whats not to love about a man who likes to get his hands dirty and build things, it was also emotional.

As you all probably know because of the blurb and all, this novel involves a one night stand that results in a pregnancy. I loved the fact that this wasn't a 'secret baby' novel. I loved that Josselyn told Travis upfront that she was carrying his child. I loved Travis's reaction even more. Instead of freaking out and going postal he was calm and stated from the start he would be there for her and his child.

This was such a cute story. It was fun to see Travis and Josselyn form a friendship that eventually leads to a relationship between them...even after the deed was done and the bun was in the oven. It was fun to see a new side to the 'One night stand/ I'm pregnant' trope. Granted there was a hell of a lot of sexual tension throughout the 'friendship' period, that made it even more enjoyable.

I have mad love for Travis and the man that he started off as and continues to be throughout this novel, even through that one 'big' hiccup he still continued to do what he saw best for his future family and gave Josslyn what she felt she needed, space and time to think.

In the review I posted on the last novel I stated the fact that I loved Mama Stevens. I love her even more now. Elizabeth is the mother of all Four Stevens' boys and Avery. She is always stepping in at the 'right' time and shining light on the angsty situations. I love her words of wisdom.

I'm starting to become addicted to this series, loving the emotion and hilarity of these characters and the brother sister back and forth banter. This series also has a true understanding of the word family, which for me is a huge! I love strong family aspects in novels.

I definitely recommend this novel to all that are looking for that lighthearted but serious romance novel.

Expect Me is the third book in the Rivers Edge series but can be read as a standalone.

Expect Me is Travis’s book. Travis, as we know is Avery’s (Trust Me) brother. While at his sister’s wedding, Travis meets Josselyn McCray, a waitress at the wedding. While he thinks he’s being coy, everyone notices that Travis can’t keep his eyes off Josseyln, including Josseyln herself. Josseyln ends up back at Travis’s apartment for one night of unadulterated passion. She flees before the morning light. Travis is left to wonder what happened to the woman that captured his heart that night.

"Time to face the man who changed my life forever..."

Two months later, Josseyln shows up on his door step and drops a bomb he never saw coming. He’s going to be a daddy to an essentially complete stranger’s baby!

Travis is the youngest of the four Steven’s boys. He works hard, side by side with his father at the family construction company. He is a protective older brother to little sister Avery, and the proverbial punching bag for his older brothers. He’s not the confirmed bachelor, one night stand type of guy that his brothers or friends are/used to be. Travis works hard and wants the same loving relationship his sister has.

"I want to be there for you and our baby."

Travis and Josselyn are, for all intents and purposes, strangers. They know each other’s bodies but that is all. Travis and Josseyln agree to avoid the undeniable attraction, and try to become friends first, for the sake of their unborn baby.

Travis wants nothing more than to provide for this woman and their child and will go to the end of the world to do so. While getting to know each other, Travis is also working on physically providing a home for his growing family, this means more time apart from Josseyln. She sees this, through hormonal eyes, that Travis is regretting his choice.

Can Travis prove to Josseyln that nothing matters more to him than her and their baby? Can they overcome the odds and become friends, lovers, and parents to this child?

We do see past couples throughout the book as well as Travis’s all-knowing mom who’s wisdom is still flowing freely!

Another steamy, small town romance from Lacey Black! I absolutely loved this book! I loved watching Joss and Travis grow together as well as individually throughout the book!!

5 stars!

Expect Me is the 3rd book in the Rivers Edge series, focusing on another swoon-worthy Stevens brother, Travis. While he may not recognize it at first, he's struck with love at first sight with one of the waitresses at Maddox and Avery's wedding. Enter Josselyn McCray.

They have an undeniable chemistry with more than just a physical pull toward each other. The consequences from their night of passion will now bond them together. They just have to figure out if their feelings are enough for a Forever. Their journey to figuring out their relationship goes from friendly to angsty to passionate, making an addicting roller coaster ride of emotional ups and downs for the reader to go thru with them. When the Rivers Edge heroes fall in love, they love their women something fierce. It just sometimes takes a come-to-Jesus moment for them to figure it out.

There are several heartfelt moments in this book, not only between Josselyn and Travis, but among friends, siblings, and parents. One of my favorite moments in the book is between Travis and his father.

The Rivers Edge men are not millionaires or Dominants trying to have their women submit to them. They are REAL MEN who love their women, love their family, and protect what is theirs.

I can't wait to see which Stevens brother will be up next, but not before Holly's novella "Promise Me" scheduled for release in April 2015. We get a preview of chapter 1 at the end of Expect Me, and I'm already drooling for the Adam Levine inspired hero. April can't get here fast enough!

While this can be read and enjoyed as a stand-alone, I highly recommend reading the entire series from the beginning to get the full picture of all the characters and their relationships with each other. The first book in the series (Trust Me) is only $0.99 on Nook and Kindle. Enjoy! -LMM

5 Stars!

I love this series! This was a new author for me when I read book one a few months back and let me tell you, this series just gets better and better. This book was sweet, sexy, and suspenseful at times. I really enjoyed these two together. I am a sucker for a romance with a surprise baby thrown into the mix. It always makes me smile. And the steam... oh yes Officer Travis will light up your kindle.

This is Travis and Josselyn's story. After one steamy, unforgettable night together, Josselyn ran from Travis' house and never looked back. But two months later, Josselyn has a small surprise that is about to shake up her world and throw Travis back in it head first. Yep, the plus sign popped up on the pregnancy test. Now she just needs to tell Travis and pray for a miracle. Travis can't forget Josselyn. After that one night, she left and never spoke to him again. So when Josselyn rocks his world with the news of a baby, he decides it is time to lay claim and show Josselyn he wants her as more than the mother of his child. Is it possible for these two to find a happy ending when these two are thrown together in the most unfortunate circumstances?

Loved, loved, loved Travis. He was the epitome of an alpha male with such a sweet side. I loved how protective he was of Josselyn and how he made sure she came first. Sure he had his moments of uncertainty but deep down he knew how he felt for her. And Josselyn, gosh she pulled at my heartstrings at times. These two together had scorching chemistry. And I totally loved their dates.

I highly recommend this series!

I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well I read it in one sitting. The story has laughs, betrayal, pain, and heartbreak.

If you have not I would recommend reading the below books first:
Trust Me (Rivers Edge, #1)
Fight Me (Rivers Edge, #2)

This is Josselyn and Travis’s story. Travis meets Josselyn and they have one night of passion before she runs and disappears. Now she is at his door step to tell him why she left and why she is back. Can they work together to build a relationship? The more Travis works the more Josselyn feels tossed aside. When he is late or a party for them and shows a total lack of interest in the party she wonders why she is still around. When he doesn’t some home for days she leaves and goes to a friend’s house. She needs to decide if going back to Travis when he ignores and places her second is really what she wants. Can Travis get her to come back to him and love him before she truly loses her? Or will he fight to get her back with everything he has?

I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book, this series and this author.

OMG, you all need to read Expect Me by Lacey Black today. Its just so, so, so Captivating. There were moments I couldn't stop crying. Like she seriously pulled you into the story and you became the character and living the story.

Josselyn - What can I say about her. At first I was just like, yeah I can't believe she is doing this. But it's true what they say, you meet your true love in the strangest ways.

Travis - All men should be just like him. I didn't not expect his reaction when he found out he was going to be a dad. Most men freak. He took it as a man an accepted it. He made them his life.

My favorite part which I just bawled out laughing was when the family was waiting to see Travis, Josselyn and the baby. The nurse was telling Travis and Josselyn that the family is going to start a riot soon and a few are threatening to through their badges around. And the crying. I never cried so much during a book before.

I don't think Lacey could have made this story better then what it is already. By far this is my favorite. I so can not wait till her next one is released. It's going to be hard to beat this one. But knowing Lacey I am sure she can pull it off.

When two people who don't know each other are brought together for the rest of their lives relationships are tested... Fast.
Joss and Travis' stories isn't all hearts and roses, it's a very accurate portrayal of what life can be like when you have no choice but to be connected to someone for the rest of your life. One night of incredibly passion leaves Josselyn expecting, but not having seen Travis since their one night together and her life falling apart faster than she can put it back together she has to face it all head on.
Travis is shocked needless to say when he sees just how much there one night together has changed both their lives forever.
Can they overcome all the challenges of getting to know a stranger your having a baby with, becoming new parents, all the while fighting your own internal battles? When one person is pushed away by the other, the relationship Joss and Travis had worked so hard to build is tested. Trust is broken, hearts are grieving will these two be able to find their way, for their child and for themselves?
I absolutely loved this story, this whole series is amazing. I highly recommend Lacey's books!

As always Lacey wrote another wonderful sorry about the town of River's Edge! Travis and Joss are a wonderful couple and the fact that she one again touches on the previous couples is always a joy. I truly enjoy when authors do that. When you have a series and they return back to the previous characters. These characters are once again relatable and loveable. 5 Stars for Expect Me. Good job as always Ms. Black!

A well written story with the "ahhhh how lovely" factor . This story is a continuation of the romantic lives of the Stevens (Rivers Edge) family. With strong characters the book rolls along at a leisurely pace but is still very enjoyable. Well recommended by Nicole McCurgy (blogger)to have on your to read list to which I agree

Sweet (SPOILERS)

Although this was a sweet love story, I found it odd that a penniless pregnant woman shows up two months after a one night stand and no one doubted her credibility.
