📚 ARC review📚

Release date: 3/2/26

Ok, now that I’ve had a couple of days to digest, I feel like I can give my honest opinion. This story just didn’t work for me. Several times through out, I felt the story wasn’t consistent. The characters read particularly young (except for the spicy scenes) and they were rather immature in the way they acted, which made it hard to connect with them. Two seemingly incompatible people fall in love, but it felt like it never left the lust stage so the love story was kind of unbelievable to me. It was definitely a ME problem, but I just didn’t vibe with it.

Passion, trepidation, depth, seductive, desire, the emotions you will feel reading this novel!! You will love and hate some characters, cry and laugh, and then want to @#$ your partner till you have nothing left to give each other! And then you wait ....leaving you wanting more, leaving you conflicted....

This is not your average SMUT. This is heartfelt and real...relatable... a story that everyone who has been in love or lust can recognize...it's up to decide...IF.." Through Lust, they fell?" Holding my breath... don't expect to exhale until I read the SEQUEL!!!

Thanks to Rattle the Stars PR for providing the eARC. This is my honest opinion.

Tangled in Temptation

Some stories do not slowly unfold. They consume.

Kasondra Fox pulls the reader into a world where desire is not just temptation, but a force that reshapes everything it touches. From the very first chapters, the tension hums beneath the surface. It is present in the silences, in the charged glances, in the moments where restraint feels thinner than air. This story does not rely on lust alone. It explores what happens when physical attraction collides with emotional vulnerability.

What makes this romance compelling is the psychological layering beneath the heat. Both characters carry wounds that quietly influence every decision they make. Their push and pull is not only about passion, but about control, fear, and the desperate need to protect themselves from falling too deeply. That inner conflict becomes the true heartbeat of the story.

The structure strengthens the intensity. The pacing builds in waves, allowing moments of closeness to be followed by emotional friction. Short chapters and sharp transitions keep the tension alive, creating an almost restless reading experience. The connection between the characters develops through confrontation as much as through intimacy, which makes their evolution feel believable and earned.

The writing is immersive and emotionally charged. The intimate scenes are bold, yet they never feel hollow. Each moment of heat carries emotional consequence, and that is where the story gains its weight. At times the emotional drama leans into familiar romance territory, but the depth of the characters and their internal struggles prevent it from feeling superficial.

This is a romance that embraces messiness. It allows its characters to be flawed, stubborn, and at times self-destructive, while still giving them space to grow.

Four stars for a story that proves lust can be a beginning, but never the whole story.

I received an ARC of this from the author in return for an honest review.

This is very much a story driven by the relationship of the main characters Waylon Rhodes and Khloe Navarro. The whole novel follows how their relationship progresses through their trials and tribulations. Both characters bring emotional and mental baggage into the relationship, causing inevitable problems. The storyline was easy to follow through the dual narration; chapters would alternate between the two protagonists. Occasionally, the narration would retell the same scenario from both points of view which gave a unique viewpoint into the events. Both characters were flawed and while I enjoy this in a novel, as I believe it makes characters more realistic, there was not enough character development which left me frustrated with both of them. This is book 1 of a duology, so I can appreciate why this has been done, but some progression would have benefited the storyline. Chapters were relatively short, the writing style simple and straightforward; this meant the pacing was quick but simultaneously, important or tense moments were glossed over, removing my emotional connection from the story. My favourite characters were the best friends Aaron and Flora: these deserve their own novel! Overall, I did enjoy the story and will read the second book to learn what happens to Weylon and Khloe long term.

Thank you to Rattle the Stars PR for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Brief Summary

This story follows a couple navigating personal growth, trauma, and relationship challenges while learning how to show up better for each other. It explores healing, emotional baggage, and the realities of being in a partnership where both people are still works in progress.

What Worked for Me

One of my favorite aspects was the couple’s dynamic. I really appreciated the idea of two people actively trying to grow and become better - both individually and together. We get to clearly see the FMC confronting and working through her trauma, which added emotional depth and vulnerability to her journey.

I also liked that the relationship wasn’t idealized. The story includes realistic struggles and conflicts that many couples experience, which made parts of it feel relatable and grounded.

PS the dedication was mind blowing!

What Didn’t Work for Me (Optional)

While we’re told that the MMC is growing and improving, we don’t always see that development fully play out on the page beyond the shift from “playboy” to committed partner. I would have loved more shown growth rather than being told it happened.

Additionally, although the book touches on meaningful emotional struggles, some of those themes felt a bit surface-level at times. I wanted a deeper dive into certain conflicts to feel more emotionally invested.

I also had mixed feelings about how the FMC was portrayed in moments of internal conflict. The story explores the idea of bottling up emotions until they eventually spill over - which is a very real experience - but because we’re in her POV, it was sometimes frustrating not to see more self-awareness or consistent emotional processing. I think adding more nuance to those moments could have created even more depth.

Overall Thoughts

Overall, this was an enjoyable read, especially if you’re looking for something engaging without wanting an extremely heavy emotional deep dive. The themes are meaningful, but they’re handled in a way that keeps the story accessible rather than intensely introspective.

Who I’d Recommend This To

I’d recommend this to readers who enjoy relationship-focused romances, character growth arcs, and realistic couple dynamics - especially if you’re in the mood for a good, engaging story that touches on deeper themes without being emotionally overwhelming.

Passion, trepidation, depth, seduction, desire, this book pulls you through every emotion imaginable while you read it. You will love some characters, hate others, laugh in one moment and feel like your heart is being squeezed in the next, and at times the chemistry is so intense it practically leaps off the page. It leaves you feeling restless, conflicted, and completely hooked, especially by the end when you realise you are going to be waiting for more. This is not your average smutty romance. It feels emotional, messy, and surprisingly relatable, the kind of story that anyone who has ever felt real attraction, love, or even confusing lust can recognise in some way. Kasondra Fox draws you into a world where desire is not just temptation but something powerful enough to reshape everything around it. From the very beginning there is tension simmering quietly under the surface, in the pauses between conversations, the charged looks, the moments where it feels like restraint could snap at any second. What makes the story stand out is that the connection between the characters is not built on physical attraction alone. There is emotional vulnerability underneath everything, and both characters carry wounds that shape the choices they make and the walls they try to keep up. Their dynamic becomes this constant push and pull between passion and self-protection, between wanting each other and being terrified of what that might mean. That inner conflict becomes the real heartbeat of the story. The pacing adds to the intensity too, building in waves where closeness is followed by friction, where short chapters and quick shifts keep the tension alive and make it hard to put the book down. Their connection grows through confrontation just as much as through intimacy, which makes their relationship feel believable and earned. Beneath the heat there is growth, protection, and emotional depth that goes far beyond the bedroom. The attraction burns fast and the dominant and submissive dynamic is very present, intense but clearly consensual, yet the love itself develops slowly, in a way that feels messy, complicated, and hard won. If you enjoy stories where lust slowly turns into something deeper, where emotionally guarded characters fall harder than they expected, where tension builds through push and pull energy and high emotional stakes, this is definitely one that will stay with you long after you finish the final page

Full of spice, lust and (occasionally…) love. I found this read so pleasurable. I felt Waylon and Khloe’s trials and tribulations, adoring them both with each turn of the page, each messy moment of uncertainty and fast-pace, emotional intimacy.

These two threw me through a loop, with their utter desire for each other and complete inability to let themselves be loved. At times, the dual POV actually HURT me, knowing they’re both thinking the exact same thing at the same damn time!!

It might be stereotypical, but one of my favourite tropes is found family, and this novel gave that to the max. I absolutely love the feeling of comfort, warmth and stability that comes from Khloe, Flora and, of course, Aaron’s relationship too. As a reader, it allows me to feel like I have a space in their little corner of the world.

Don’t get me wrong, there were definitely times where the back and forth became a little tedious; they really just needed to friggen communicate. But, if fictional characters learnt to communicate well, half of literature, tv and film would be obsolete…

I really enjoyed getting to know about Khloe’s past and what actually caused her so much pain, but sometimes I felt the need to grab her and shake her - look what's right in front of you!! Although, saying that, the developments she’d made and everything she’d faced by the end of the novel made me genuinely proud of her.

I think it’s clear by this review that I absolutely bonded with Khloe more than Waylon - he wasn't someone I could understand. That being said, he does win little pieces of my heart because, let’s be honest, who doesn’t want a guy like Waylon…?

One final note. The one you’ve all been waiting for: the sexual chemistry between these two is palpable. These smutty, lusty scenes are executed to an excellent standard and genuinely seem to be interesting, rather than a lot of the mundane stuff I’ve read recently. As the title implies, lust and pure need are the reasons we're even here in the first place.

I wait with bated breath for the next installment in this duet. Through Lust, We Fell will be released on 03/03/2026 and then you can join me in the wonderings of WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

As always, I’d love to hear your theories once you've had a chance to check it out on KU and Amazon (or if you want to get your hands on a signed copy head to www.authorkasondrafox.com).

Khloe Navarro does not do love. She does fresh starts. She does independence. She does not do emotionally unavailable U.S. Marshals with dominant tendencies and hands that make her forget her own rules.

And Waylon Rhodes? He absolutely does not do relationships. Marine vet. Protective. Possessive. The “I don’t gamble with my heart” type… except he’s already all in and doesn’t want to admit it.

Their connection starts fast. Physical. Intense. Addictive.

But what makes this book hit is that the spice isn’t empty. Every single intimate moment carries emotional weight. It’s lust, yes but it’s also fear. Control. Vulnerability disguised as dominance.

There’s this line:
“Khloe Navarro is mine.”
And listen… the possession? Toxic? Maybe.
Did I eat it up anyway? Absolutely. 😌

But what I appreciated most is that beneath all the heat, this is really about two people who don’t know how to be loved without self sabotaging it. The dual POV HURTS because half the time they’re thinking the same thing and just… won’t say it.

Babe I wanted to grab both of them and lock them in a room until they communicated like adults.
The found family element though? Flora. Aaron. That warmth balanced out the chaos so well. It gave the story heart when Waylon and Khloe were spiraling.

And then this line punched me:
“I won’t sit back and let you disrespect the woman I love because she doesn’t look like the people you’re used to.”

That moment? Growth. Protection. Depth beyond the bedroom.
Yes, this burns fast physically.
Yes, the dominant/submissive dynamic is front and center (fully consensual, charged, intense).
But the love? The love is slow. Hard earned. Messy.

If you love:
🔥 lust to love
🔥 emotionally unavailable alpha who falls harder than he planned
🔥 push and pull tension
🔥 “she’s mine” energy
🔥 high emotional stakes
This one is for you.

It’s flawed. It’s angsty. It’s a little toxic at times. But it’s also raw and honest about what happens when two damaged people collide and try to build something anyway.

And that ending? RUDE. I need to know what happens in book two.

First off, I genuinely loved this story. The emotional highs and lows? Chef’s kiss. The tension? Thick. The connection between the MFC and MMC? Undeniably there. But oh my God !!! these two emotionally damaged humans had me wanting to shake them. The constant push and pull, the “I want you but I don’t,” the inability to decide what they were willing to give versus what they expected to receive… it was exhausting in the most intentional way.

Personally, I was so annoyed at times. Not because it was poorly written, but because it was too real. Two people who clearly care but are so wrapped up in their own trauma that they can’t get out of their own way? Whew. It was frustrating watching them sabotage something good over and over again.

That being said, the growth especially from the MFC , made it worth it. Her turnaround? Beautiful. Watching her start to understand herself and what she deserved was one of the strongest parts of the book. That character development saved the emotional rollercoaster for me.

Now… as for the MMC? Sir can go kick rocks. Respectfully. By the end of this book, I was over his indecisiveness and self-inflicted chaos. I’m hoping in book two he gets his head out of his ass and actually steps up, because the potential is there. I just need him to do better.

The writing itself flowed really well. It was cohesive, emotionally layered, and easy to stay immersed in. There were a few moments where I felt a little bored and noticed some repetition, but honestly, that repetition helped deepen the understanding of the characters and their emotional patterns. It reinforced why they kept making the same mistakes.

Overall? I’d absolutely read the second book when it releases. Even with my frustration, I’m invested. If a book can make me this annoyed and still have me coming back for more, it’s doing something right.

ARC Review!

I rated this book 4 stars, I loved watching Waylon and Khloe's love, but also seeing them grow from the relationship and accept when it was hurting each other. The slightly toxic nature of this fuelled the book and gave me so many conflicting emotions that just turned into love for these two.

This book was dual POV in first person which I love and the spice was pretty amazing too. I love the meet-cute these two characters had and the way Khloe didn't immediately fall for the bad boy cowboy, Waylon. The quick one night stand sent these two in a spiral and I loved the chemistry and trust that was created within moments.

Quotes and Notes
"Khloe Navarro is mine."
My reaction: bring on the possession.

"You'll always be mine, no matter what."
My reaction: the toxicity is crazy but I don't hate it...

"... when she turns to me, eyes catching the gold of the horizon, it knocks the air clean out of my chest."
My reaction: aww Waylon.

"I won't sit back and let you disrespect the woman I love because she doesn't look like the people you're used to."
My reaction: yes Waylon. Stand up for your girl.

Ohkayyyy Kasondra!! I genuinely loved this story. It was so raw and relatable. I absolutely had a few tears coming down my face towards the end of this book. There were so many emotional highs and lows and I think that is what made it so relatable. I wanted to take both Khloe and Waylon's head and beat them together. They were so indecisive about what thought they should receive from the other and what they should also give to the other. They have both been through trauma and were afraid of being abandoned and they both wanted to leave before the other did it to them. I was emotionally exhausted by the end of it and that was 100% intentional! These two could not stop sabotaging themselves even though they had the best cheer team that told them EXACTLY what they should hear, even though they didn't want to hear it.

Khloe's growth was exponential! She finally figured out her trauma and understood what she needed and what she deserves from people in her life and she is no longer going to settle. I feel like all of the ups and downs in the book was worth it after this. I loved seeing her at the end and all of her confidence.

Waylon on the other hand...I need him to pull his head out of the sand and get it together. I have so much to say about him but I don't want to ruin it for everyone lol He has SO MUCH POTENTIAL. We saw so much of it in the beginning but then I feel like he got in his own head and ruined everything for himself.

I felt completely immersed in Kasondra's writing. I think she did a beautiful job capturing the rawness of everyone's emotions and kept everything cohesive.

I don't know how I am supposed to wait until the next book comes out... I need it NOW!

This book was messy, emotional, intense and yes, frustrating at times… but in a way that felt intentional.

Khloe moves to San Antonio trying to outrun her past, but trauma doesn’t disappear just because you change locations. She’s guarded, reactive, and constantly battling her own thoughts. Then there’s Waylon — US Marshal, known playboy, emotionally unavailable by design… until her.

What starts as lust turns into something heavier than either of them are ready for.

The push and pull definitely tested me. They feel everything deeply, but pride, fear, and unhealed wounds keep getting in the way. The miscommunication? Painful.

But what made this work for me was how real it felt.

Khloe’s spirals, her distrust, her emotional crash outs… I connected to that more than I expected. Loving hard but being scared of what it costs. Wanting more but not knowing how to ask for it without ruining everything. That hit.

Waylon is protective and intense, but emotionally stuck. I needed him to grow faster at times…. but that tension between who they are and who they’re trying to become is what drives the story.

The spice is there, but the emotional tension outweighs it. This leans into trauma, self-sabotage, vulnerability, and growth rather than just surface drama. The character growth… especially from Khloe by the end was my favorite part.

And the found family element? Flora and Aaron brought warmth that balanced out the chaos.

Was I stressed? Yes.
Was I invested? Absolutely.
Am I ready for book two? Immediately.

Thank you to the author and @rattlethestarspr for the gifted eARC 🤍

ARC Review — Through Lust, We Fell by Kasondra Fox
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First of all… the emotional journey Khloe and Waylon put me through?? Unfair. Illegal, even.

This book was raw, messy, broken in the most beautiful way. The trauma. The fear of commitment. The way lust slowly tangled itself into something deeper and far more dangerous. It wasn’t just spicy — it was emotionally charged.

Khloe, my girl. I am so proud of you. Watching you do the work, confront your past, and step into your power had me fully in my “bad bitch reborn” era. Toward the end, your POV was absolutely giving:

“I’m sorry, the old Taylor can’t come to the phone right now… why? Oh — ‘cause she’s dead.”

And I mean that as the highest compliment.

Now Waylon… sir. I need to talk to you.
By the time I finished this book, I was not your biggest fan. Those last few chapters? You better grovel like your life depends on it in book two. I’m watching you.

That being said — the tension? Immaculate. The spice? Fast and filthy but balanced with emotional depth. The found family vibes? Already obsessed. The hurt/comfort? Painfully good.

Kasondra bestie… you put me through heartbreak, but I forgive you. Because it was worth it.

If you’re looking for:
✨ Seduction
✨ Emotional damage (respectfully)
✨ Trauma healing
✨ Protective but emotionally unavailable MMC
✨ Bad bitch character growth
✨ Found family energy

Miss Fox wrote this for you.

Thank you so much to Kasondra Fox and Rattle the Stars PR for the opportunity to read and review this ARC. I’m already emotionally preparing myself for book two… and Waylon’s redemption.

This book was a whirlwind of emotions for me as someone who has a little past trauma buried deep. The story follows Khloe Navarro and Waylon Rhodes and the ups and downs of their relationship. The storyline was easy to follow and sometimes I felt like I was inside the pages feeling all the emotions alongside Khloe. There is also spicy throughout the book and a little bdsm sprinkled here and there 🥵🫣

Khloes is a Nurse who recently moved to San Antonio Tx to be with her bestfriend and have a fresh start from her past. Khloe carries an enormous amount of emotional baggage and trauma from past relationships and family 😓 can she get out of her own mind for the sake of her future relationships??

Waylon is a playboy, walking redflag, US Marshall who believes strictly in One night stands with no emotional attachments. Until Khloe walks into a bar and his hit with love at first sight! He has to know her, has to have her but he wasn't prepared for wanting to keep her forever 🫠

Can they make a relationship work between them when so much is standing in the way? Khloes trust and trauma issues, Waylons self sabotaging and guilt from his past, distance from work requirements and communication issues?? I guess you'll have to read and find out 🤭😂

The side characters Flora and Aaron will always hold a special place in my heart and I truely believe everyone deserves to have a bestfriend just like them 🥰

Khloes character development at the end of the book was my favourite part overall and all I want is for her to be immensely happy

First Impressions: Two very incompatible people begin a whirlwind romance deeply rooted in physical attraction.

Pacing: The play activities ramp up very early in the book - maybe too early.

Character development: I don't think I've ever disliked two MCs so much before. Khloe desperately needs therapy, and spends 90% of the book self-destructing. Waylon is a controlling narcissist who also desperately needs therapy.

World Building: There's not too much world building, but it is not necessary for the story.

Romance: Early on the term "love bombing" is used, and that's a pretty accurate description for what occurs between the MCs.

Spice: Definitely quantity over quality. It negatively affects both MCs, and our FMC handing over power to a complete stranger (MMC) in the first few pages of the book sets the tone for the rest of the story.

Errors and Consistency: Considering the subject matter of the book, the author's voice comes through young and inexperienced, as though they aren't too comfortable putting certain words to paper. This reads more like a love letter to intimate trauma then a romance book.

Overall experience: I haven't felt this miserable reading a book since reading Dostoevsky at university. The book doesn't have a HEA, which is completely fine for a dark romance, but this is just chapter after chapter of love bombing and gaslighting. I will not be reading the sequel.

Oh. My. God!!!

I was so excited to sign up to be a part of the author kasondra fox's street team for this book and receive an ARC.

And I can honestly say, I devoured this book and I didn't want it to end. I loved the characters and the friendships throughout this book too. Flora and Khloe were very rude or die friends and that is definitely the sort of friends you need in your life!

The tension, burning and yearning between Waylon and Khloe was insane at times and I was getting a bit hot under the collar for Waylon too. Until I wanted to step into the pages and slap him into next week!!!

But I feel like the other characters did that for me 😂

There was such a strong mental health rep too. A lot of accountability and growth. Khloe's journey through this book was so great to read and I loved going on that journey with her to become the person she is now.

It was so heartfelt, real and raw at times, that I forgot I was reading about fictional characters (especially at times when I was talking back to the characters as though they could hear me!)

This book has definitely left me wanting more I will definitely be putting my name down for the ARC of the second book (oh yes, there's another book!)

Everyone should give this book a read when it comes out!

Vibes: Slow burn, Found family, Lust to love, opposite attracts, trauma healing, she is mine, I am hers

Through Lust We Fell is a kind of warm hug. This book took me on a serious emotional rollercoaster. If you are looking for a light, fluffy read, this isn't it. But if you want something raw, messy, and incredibly addictive, you have to pick this up.

Let’s talk about Khloe first. Watching her journey was honestly the highlight for me. She starts off carrying so much trauma, but seeing her slowly step into her power and enter her bad bitch era was so satisfying. You just want to cheer for her the whole time👏🏼❤️

And then there is Waylon!🤌🏼 I have such a love-hate relationship with this man!. The chemistry between him and Khloe is undeniable, it’s spicy, intense, and totally consumes you. But his indecisiveness and fear of commitment made me want to scream at him more than once. He definitely has some major groveling to do in the next book.

The writing does a great job of balancing the high heat with actual emotional depth. It explores how trauma shapes us and how messy healing can be, all while keeping the romantic tension thick enough to cut with a knife.

Overall I just loved this book and if you love possesive MMC, found family, healing and slow burn vibes, then this one is completely for you.

Through Lust, We Fell by Kasondra Fox is a spicy slow-burn love story that feels messy, real, and deeply character-driven. This book took me on an emotional rollercoaster. The mental health representation was handled with care, which made the story feel even more authentic and impactful.

I truly enjoyed Waylon and Khloe’s story. The emotional tension? Off the charts. The chemistry? Immediate. The payoff? Absolutely earned. And yes — the spice is spicy.

Watching Khloe confront her past while navigating vulnerability, desire, and healing was powerful. Her journey felt raw, honest, and emotionally grounded.

And Waylon? Whew. Protective, emotionally guarded, and possessive — but layered with real trauma and depth. Seeing him slowly unravel for Khloe was one of my favorite parts of the book.

I also loved the found family aspect and the ride-or-die friendships woven into the story. They added warmth and balance to an otherwise angsty, intense romance.

I absolutely recommend this book — but please check the trigger warnings before diving in.

I received an ARC of this book; all opinions are my own.

4 ⭐️
3 🌶

Prepare yourself for a deeply emotional read that ends with a lingering question mark. The story doesn’t wrap everything up neatly, and that uncertainty is the set-up for book 2.

I’m giving this 4 stars because I can truly appreciate the deep emotions the author was trying to portray. In relationships, sometimes two people are simply moving at different speeds, both emotionally and mentally, and that’s exactly what was happening here.

Our MCs, Khloe and Waylon, might be a great fit for each other, but the timing just isn’t right and sometimes, timing is everything. I can see their story branching in so many possible directions, based on what they accomplish during their time apart. This could result in growth that could eventually lead to a HEA.

In real life relationships are not always perfect, they are messy. Khloe and Waylon’s story is messy and raw, which makes it hard to pinpoint exactly who I’d recommend this to. But the emotional depth and relatable relationship make it a story I connected with and one I will continue to follow.

🌶️ 3.5

I genuinely can’t decide who I loved more, this book or the author herself.

Kasondra is the kind of girl you want in your corner, so when I got the chance to be in hers as a beta reader, I didn’t even think twice. And let me tell you… I would do it again in a heartbeat (I just might 🤭).

I’m the type of reader who lives for emotional damage. Give me pain. Give me trauma. Give me messy healing and characters who have to crawl their way back to themselves. And this book? It delivered. The angst was angsty. The emotions were raw. I felt everything.

The spice was absolutely spicing 🌶️ Bold. Intense. The kind that makes you pause for a second and reread a line. The passion pulled me in completely, and the chemistry between Khloe and Waylon felt undeniable.

And the ending? I’m not okay. It left me wanting more in that way only truly good books can.

Safe to say I’ll be very impatiently waiting to see what this incredibly promising author gives us next 💗

Thank you to Kasondra for trusting me as a beta reader, and to Love Notes PR for providing me with an ARC copy.

This story was so so so good!!! I'm a sucker for romance so but this might have just sealed my entry into contemporary romance. This follows the story of two people who have lost a lot in their past while also trying to live and well.. love again. There were definitely points in the book that made me tear up (guilty) and points where I was thinking "why would they do that?". I love a story that really ties you in in the beginning and continues to do so throughout the book. These characters are super well written and so many details in their backstory that it really helped understand why they did certain things or how they acted during certain....activities. Not going to fully spoil the book but there is tons of love, lust, trauma, slow burn etc. I really got to see (or read) their relationship build from the start and each chapter seemed to bring them a little bit closer!. Without yapping too much I will highly recommend this book and anything by Kasondra because this is a MASTERPIECE! 10/10 recommend.

Thank you for the opportunity to read the arc!

Thank you to Love Notes PR and Kasondra Fox for the eARC. This is my honest opinion.

Snap Judgement
Strong start, frustrating spiral, and a relationship that unravels in real time.

Bookish Magic
✨The early connection feels grounded and believable, especially in the quieter family moments.

✨The side characters provide balance and emotional steadiness when the main couple is chaos and combustion.

✨Khloe's personal growth arc is the most satisfying thread in the book.

Bookish Woes
😫 The MMC's emotional withdrawal and contradictory behavior created serious character whiplash for me.

😫 Communication issues drive conflict to the point of me wanting to say, 'Just have an honest conversation!' It gave more sabotage than tension.

Final Thoughts
A messy, emotionally volatile first installment that shines in personal growth but tests your patience. I did enjoy the book and eagerly await the second book to see the conclusion of the characters.

I truly did love this book. It was real and raw. Both Waylon and Khloe didn’t want anything and were escaping something.

In the beginning Waylon was everything and I was so happy with how he treated Khloe. But then I truly saw the difference between how he treated her and how Aaron treated Flora and I continued to ask myself why?

I want to say that Khloes feelings were so on point, she wanted more from Waylon but he didn’t open up like he should have and that’s real. Some people can’t do that.

I wanted to end this book with more from Waylon but I just know I’ll have to wait for the second book. I just hope and pray he doesn’t continue to annoy me with his indecisiveness.

I want this second book to end in a healthy way and I hope it does. I want Waylon to truly express himself instead of saying what he wants in his head but to say it to her. It’s not fair to string her along.

I’ll wait to see how this pans out but please let it be in their POV.

ARC READ
RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you to Rattle the Stars PR for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

Through Lust, We Fell is not at all what I was expecting! It's quite an emotional roller-coaster if I'm being honest! This story goes into lust, healing, and redemption and will take you through every one of the emotions along the way!

Waylon and Khloe are far from perfect, and they had real life issues. That’s one of the parts I enjoyed most as someone in a relationship while having been through tough times. And while their stubbornness, and lack of communication was frustrating at times (I definitely wanted to smack Waylon more than once), it kinda does makes sense considering the trauma they’ve both endured. Neither of them truly believes they deserve love, and they’re constantly bracing for the other to walk away first. It’s messy, emotional, and at times so completely relatable if you've ever been hurt or felt abandoned.

I was honestly surprised by just how spicy this book was at first glance, but the high heat slow burn just worked so well for their dynamic. The tension between them is emotionally charged, and I loved getting both perspectives through the dual POV. Seeing inside Waylon and Khloe’s heads made their push and pull even more addictive to read.

The side characters, especially the besties Flora and Aaron, were my fav additions. I’m already hoping they get their own story because they absolutely deserve it.

Overall, this is a powerful start to what promises to be an unforgettable duet about passion, vulnerability, and two damaged people learning that they can be worthy of love. I'm looking at you Waylon!!

This is an amazing read. The mix of spice and character growth is fantastic. I love when the MFC finally understood her worth and what she deserves in life. The MMC I really hope grows more in his character development come next book and finds his worth and what he deserves in life. The indecisive want and don't want between the characters had me wanting to shake them life crazy. They go from "I want you" to "maybe I don't want you" to "yeah I don't want you" over and over again. Even though they do have a connection. They both come with emotional and mental problems that comes into play. This book was written in a way that feels so real. Like it was happening right infront of me. There is no soft lovely dovey story. It shows real problems within relationships. This book puts you on the emotional rollercoaster ride and doesn't let you get off. I truly cannot wait to read the second book.

This is a character-driven story centered on Waylon and Khloe and the messy, emotional evolution of their relationship. Dual POV let us see how differently they processed the same situations, which really highlighted how much their trauma was running the show.

I genuinely loved this… but whew 😮‍💨 these two stressed me OUT. The push and pull, the “I want you but I don’t,” the constant self-sabotage? Exhausting in the most intentional way. Not bad writing. Just painfully realistic.

The MFC’s growth was the strongest part for me. Watching her start to recognize her worth? Beautiful. The MMC though… sir. Get it together. Respectfully 🫶🏽 I need redemption in book two because the potential is there.
Even with my frustration, I’m invested. And if a book can annoy me this much and still have me waiting for the sequel? It’s doing something right.

Through Lust, We Fell is a raw, high stakes emotional rollercoaster that swaps candlelight for trauma and baggage. Told through dual POVs, the story dives into the messy, unhinged connection between Khloe and Waylon. The characters feel gritty and real, fueled by a desperate need for control and "lust with a capital L" that keeps the tension high and the spice even higher.

However, be prepared for a serious amount of frustration. While the emotional weight is compelling, I found myself practically yelling at Waylon through the entire back half of the book. He is incredibly infuriating, consistently making the wrong choices when it would have been so simple to just do the right thing. It’s an enjoyable, gritty read that avoids being overly romanticized, but that ending left me so aggravated by his actions that I’m desperate to get my hands on the next book just to see if he can finally get his act together.

3.5⭐️
This story follows Khloe and Waylon as they navigate a relationship filled with emotional baggage and past trauma. Their journey shows the ups and downs that can come when two people are still healing.

At times, their back-and-forth and lack of communication was frustrating. The constant “we belong together… or maybe we don’t” moments tested my patience a bit. I also felt there wasn’t quite enough character development overall. Khloe shows some growth as she begins working through her trauma, which added emotional depth, but I would’ve liked to see more development from Waylon.

One thing I really enjoyed was the bestie duo—Flora (Khloe’s best friend) and Aaron (Waylon’s best friend). I’m especially curious to see where their story goes next, since the sequel will follow them as they prepare for a wedding.

Overall, Ms. Fox takes readers on an emotional ride, and the spice is definitely chef’s kiss.

I received an ARC of the book and I want to say I appreciate the opportunity! To the story! Technically I would give a 3.5🌟rating because but only whole stars apply. The book covers the relationship of Waylon Rhodes and Khloe Navarro. It started off so fast and I knew I was in for trouble! The character development almost scarred me but finally I was able to scream YESSSS QUEEN because she finally realized Waylon was not the best option for her. The undercovered manipulation blew my mind!!! Finding out more about them made me realize how toxic this relationship is but through pain, we grow. That clearly was the case for Khloe but not as much as Waylon. TBH, but the end this man was a villain in my story! There was a lot of spicy scenes but that is because that was the only way for Waylon to "build" their relationship. There was clearly discovered truths, hurt and healing in this story. Being a girls girl, I was all for how Khloe was able to build herself back up.
