Dr. Kevin P. White (MD, PhD) is a long-time physician and university professor who, after winning numerous national and international awards for his teaching and research, including the prestigious Collip Medal, retired to follow his dream of being a best-selling author. Already the winner of three Reader's Favorite Book Awards - one for non-fiction and the others for full-length novels (Inside a Hollow Tree; The River Riders), he has turned to primarily writing thought-provoking young adult novels. This is such an amazing story about a family whose life is turned upside down when they determine their son is autistic. However, through the love of hockey their son is able to overcome adversities and be accepted as a true member of the hockey community. This story outlines the adversities families face when trying to include their disabled children in 'normal' every day settings and especially in a world of sports. Truly amazing and inspiring heartfelt story I highly recommend.
