Ludwig wasn’t born from Lorna, no, rather he was birthed.
And now he needs feeding.
Lorna is a doting mother who puts her child first, each and every time. Ludwig appreciates it…probably. So comes the daunting task of luring men back to the house, only for Ludwig to feed upon them.
But what happens when Lorna falls in love? What will happen then?
The answer is within…read and find out. But remember…All’s well that ends well.
Lorna is back. After having "given birth" to a creature that was not human, and having it devour her would be murderer, Alfie, Lorna is now stuck being mother to what had escaped her body that night. Her son. Ludwig. Lorna finds that caring for Ludwig is quite the chore, considering she must keep him fed, and he enjoys a very special diet of human flesh. After months, and months of luring not just men, but, also women, back to her and Ludwig's place with the promise of a hot, and steamy sexual encounter. Little do they know that, Ludwig loves leftovers, and, after they "get lucky", their luck usually runs out, immediately afterwards. Dave meets Lorna as she has to procure a lot of hardware in order to clean up the messes that Ludwig leaves her with after he eats. Lorna starts to really like Dave, and even develops a crush. She feels like she could, actually, have a connection with someone, but, what about Ludwig? If she were to bring Dave home, how would her son act? Can he, not being human, possibly understand that his mother really likes Dave, and that he is a friend, and not food? Can Lorna find love, while still remaining to care for her monstrous son? This was a great read! It really gets into how tired one can get, the despair, and the battle between a maternal bond, and exhaustion of the responsibility that comes with having to mute a child who has very gory, and specific needs. It illustrates that, no matter what your child may be, those bonds are strong, unbreakable, and, shows how something that is abnormally dysfunctional can still be a family unit. I loved this almost as much as the first. Highly recommend! 5💀/5
Another brilliant read by Ash as always. Lugwig isn’t like any “normal” child. He’s different. Ghastly different. His mother helps him feed by luring in people from the local. But when the mother finds a guy she genuinely likes and wants to keep for herself, Luggie has different ideas but this time not from his own doing. Dave brought this upon himself!
Ash hits it out of the park again with the sequel to Spawn, a bite sized read that is as appetising as Ludwig finds his human meals.
Spawn 2 continues off from where the last book began. Lorna has given birth to Ludwig, a creature with an insatiable appetite for human flesh. Despite his monstrous appearance, Lorna loves him like she would a human child and appeases his needs by picking up strangers at bars, taking them home and having her way with them before leaving them for Ludwig to snack on. She's got the whole disposing of the leftovers down pat but finds the whole process is definitely taking its toll on her.
Then she meets Dave, a worker at a hardware store during one of her journeys there to pick up a saw to replace her blunt one that she uses to dispose of the bodies and finds herself much more interested in him than just her usual conquest and kill. The difficulty is, she has to try and tell Ludwig he isn't to be his snack. How do things work out? Well, you have to read and find out for yourself.
This is another fun entry in the Spawn series full of s*x, violence and gore whilst telling an entertaining story and left me craving more. Grab this for a short, sharp, read-in-one sitting gorefest.
Going in blind (since I didn’t read the first one) I was pleasantly surprised that I wasn’t confused.
The book is super fast paced and short. (It took about an hour to read) I was hooked from the first chapter. It was refreshing that I was totally wrong on what was going to happen. You meet Ludwig in chapter two, He definitely won’t disappoint! The end was my favorite part. When a mother’s protection over her child is stronger than anything even finding love. I really enjoyed this!
Months after Lorna had birthed Ludwig out into a very tiny corner of the world, she is now burdened with the tedious task of keeping him fed daily. Mom does what she has to; might as well sneak in a little bit of fun and play with Luddie's food beforehand, seasoning it with sweat and bodily fluids, and making it more pliable and easier for her spawn to eat.
But what will happen if Lorna meets a guy she actually likes? Will Luddie have a new daddy?
This is a very fast-paced, easy and enjoyable read, with plenty of, uhm, quickies. I leave it to Ash to make me go "Awwww!" about the strangest things.
Fast paced , short horror, drew me in quickly and held on to the last page! Fun, gory, read about a mother’s love, protection and devotion to her..um, child. Enjoyable and Entertaining!!
