I gave my innocence to a masked stranger. I didn't know he was the billionaire surgeon who would deliver our secret baby.

One night. One golden mask. One mistake that changed everything. He was the silver fox who commanded my body. I was the girl who ran away with his child.

Nine months later, my secret is out. I’m in the ER, and the man holding the scalpel isn't a stranger anymore. It’s Dr. Beckett Myers. My best friend’s brother. My forbidden fantasy.

He saves our daughter. Then he steals my freedom. He doesn't ask. He demands.
A forged marriage license. A penthouse prison. And an offer that sounds like a

"One million dollars a year. Five years. You stay."

He thinks he’s protecting his legacy. He thinks I’m here for the payout. But every time he looks at our daughter, the ice in his eyes cracks just a little.

I’d burn every cent of his millions just to hear him say he loves us. But can a man who buys everything ever afford to give his heart?

1 star and that’s being generous (possible spoilers ahead)
This book needs some editing. This book needs help
The plot started out okay….. I have no idea what happened

h (age 23) is a ballerina. She’s also a V. She lives with her BFF. She works part time in a catering company which also seems to double dip as an escort service.

H is (38???) and he’s a doctor. He is also involved with 2 secret societies. 🤷‍♀️ One is called CSS (his dad was a member and it’s for all the rich guys. The second is some kind of group with his bro club. It was never very clear)

Anyway, H sees h one night. Both are wearing masks, but he quickly becomes obsessed with her LEGS. 🤪 He offers her 100k to sleep with him. He also says a bunch of very cringy and quite frankly, a huge, desperate sales pitch to get her in bed. They shag. iT’s aMaZInG
She sneaks out without getting the money.

10 months later, h is hit by a car. She almost dies. Broken leg, broken ribs, etc….H is her doctor. By the time she arrives at the hospital, EMT had already delivered the baby girl. Now I’m not sure how this is possible, but DNA was ran on the baby and an actual nurse told the dr he was the daddy. 😂😂😂

h wakes up a few days later, and H is married to her. Huh? But get this….he will only be married to her for 5 years. He’s already moved all her stuff in his place and here’s the major kicker- h’s BFF- that’s his sister. 🙄🙄🙄🥴
He’s an absolute a-hole. h seemed strong…for like 2 pages.
If you’re wondering if he was celibate during their 10 month separation ……nope

“I try fu*king as many women as I possibly can to erase her from my memory. It is all random, consensual, horrible sex. The women aren't even that bad; it is just that they aren't as good”

(I swear I wanted to throw my kindle)
Then we get the BIG reveal twice. Once she finds out it’s her baby daddy while she’s in the hospital(because he literally told her), then about 5 chapters later she’s shagging him and sees the tattoo and freaks out . I was so confused Did the author forget? Some editor definitely forgot to take one of these reveals out.

I should have DNF right then. This book skidded out of control and just kept fishtailing after that.

We then find out H has discovered some cure for cancer and the secret society wants him to reverse it- so they can wipe out humanity (I wish I was making this shite up) He refuses because he’s not a bad guy- while continuing to treat h like 💩. Oh of course, h gets kidnapped. H gets some “other” guys and they storm the area. She’s rescued and H gets her out of there in his helicopter.
HE LOVES HER NOW (HARD eye roll) 🙄

These two MCs literally never have their baby. Nannies or h’s BFF always have the baby. H also becomes obsessed with h’s boobs.

More random nonsense happens that makes zero sense. It’s like 4 different books meshed into one.
The bad guy just disappears after H wins the Nobel peace prize. 😂😂🤪

They end up having a bunch more kids. h gives up her ballerina dream and becomes some type of dance therapist.

This is 4 hours I will never get back.

I want to start by saying I’m an avid reader and I don’t usually mind books with some grammar errors or poor editing. I like indie authors and understand many of them self-edit. I also don’t leave 1 star reviews. I tend to be rather liberal and hand out 5-star ratings like candy on Halloween. I’ve even given 5-star ratings to books with grammar errors and editing issues. However, having said that, I ended up DNFing this book around page 80 because it was just too hard to read. The writing style was rather pedantic, the grammatical errors were glaring, and the plot holes were awful. It was like the author didn’t even try to edit or read back through it. For example, when Dr Cock realized his patient was red, the woman whose virginity he took 10 months prior at a masquerade, he confronted her about why she hadn’t used birth control and she defended herself saying she ran out, wasn’t able to get the morning after pill, and couldn’t go through with an abortion. So he forced her to move in with him, practically ignored her for 2 months and wouldn’t let her leave the house. Then proceeded to ignore her and their child and heavily controlled who could come visit d how long they could stay. Then suddenly they’re having sex (with practically no build up or sexual tension for 2 people who supposedly hate each other) and she saw the tattoo on his back and it suddenly reminded her that he was the guy from the masquerade who took her virginity and got her pregnant. He’s the only man shes ever had sex with, so there’s only one possible man who could have been her baby daddy. So why was it a surprise 2 months after she moved in with him with their child, after he confronted her and asked her why she hadn’t used birth control, and after he forged a marriage license, that he was the one who took her virginity? The fact that shes suddenly surprised is just too much of an error for me to overlook. I stopped reading after that. I just couldn’t get past the inconsistencies and poor development.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Secret Doctor Daddy by J. S. Kingsley completely wrecked me in the best possible way. I devoured this book in one sitting and I am still thinking about Beckett Myers like he is a real man walking around somewhere in a tailored suit and surgical gloves.

From the very first chapter, I was hooked. The masked stranger. The golden COCK mask. The electric chemistry. That one reckless night that turns into something so much bigger. I love a secret baby trope, but this one hit differently because the emotional tension was just as intense as the attraction.

Beckett is the ultimate silver fox billionaire surgeon. Controlled. Powerful. Used to commanding an operating room and every situation around him. Watching him go from cold and calculating to fiercely protective father had my heart in a chokehold. The scene in the ER when he realizes who she is and that the baby is his? I was holding my breath. The angst was perfect.

And let’s talk about that marriage arrangement. The forged license. The penthouse that feels more like a gilded cage. The one million dollars a year offer. It gave forced proximity, possessive alpha energy, and just enough vulnerability beneath the surface to keep me completely invested. He thinks he is protecting his legacy, but you can see the cracks forming every time he looks at his daughter. Those quiet moments softened me so much.

The heroine was not weak or naïve. She carried her secret, protected her child, and stood her ground even when faced with Beckett’s money and power. I loved that she did not just melt at the first sign of his control. She wanted love, not a contract. That emotional push and pull made every scene feel charged.

The chemistry is intense, the tension is addictive, and the emotional payoff is so satisfying. J. S. Kingsley delivered passion, drama, and heart all wrapped up in a billionaire romance that feels cinematic and deeply personal at the same time.

If you love secret baby, silver fox surgeon, forced marriage, and a hero who has to learn that love cannot be bought, this book needs to be at the top of your list. Absolute five star read for me. I would read it all over again just to experience that slow crack in Beckett’s icy exterior. 💕

Beckett and Scarlett

This book needs a very thorough editing. The mask description went from a rooster, to a fox & back to a rooster. & Beckett’s height changed 3 times & his eyes went from green to gray. The time jumps were super confusing & I had to reread several times to make sure I didn’t zone out.

The writing style is weird too. It almost comes across like the author was thinking way faster than she was able to type.

I like both of the MCs BUT there was very little emotional depth. I loved the epilogue & showing the growth of their family.

Overall, it’s a quick read. The premise is good but the execution is very poor.

**possible spoilers**

35/40ish pages in, Scarlett & Beckett both realize who each other is. Beckett from that point is called Rayne’s dad by Scarlett. So why around page 80 does Scarlett see Beckett’s tattoo & acts like she had no clue that he was the man that got her pregnant? Mind you, the ONLY man she has ever had relations with?

On top of that, the almost the entire book, Scarlett says she has no clue who her dad is but randomly around page 128, she says she is a product of her mom’s stepdad’s abuse. Clearly, you know who your dad is - regardless if you’ve met or not.

Also, Beckett is the first to say he loves her but towards the end, Scarlett makes this comment:

“I love you, Beckett,” I say gently. “I think I'm falling more in love with you every day.”

“I know the feeling well.” It isn't an ‘I love you’ back, but the closest I might come to getting one from him.

I’d give this a 5 for plot concept and general writing however it has soooo many detail mistakes, contradictions and plot holes i had to score it a 3. This book was badly proofread and edited because his so many errors were not fixed is astounding.
Scarlett is a young virgin with a horrible childhood who is struggling to make ends meet. While working a job masked the older man an dr named Beckett assigned her room talks her into going to his suite with him and offers pay her for the night. She gives him her virginity but slips out without taking the money. He can’t find her after months searching until she comes in dying from a car accident having given birth in ambulance. He finds out baby is his and takes steps to secure his reputation, her care and a baby he never wanted. As she heals she must navigate finding out the surprise identity of the man she slept with who is very rich very controlling who she’s attracted to yet wants nothing from, and being a new mother. Events happen, over time they rekindle their physical relationship which leads to deeper feelings but danger lurks close by and Beckett must face many new challenges in his life he is very unprepared for.
Very well done characters the writing is generally well done except for a ton of silly mistakes that should have been easily caught during editing. It really interrupted the flow of the story.

Two Chance Meetings Romance!!

Scarlett is a student of ballet. She is working for a catering company at an elite event where’ companion opportunities’ are available. She usually declines, but finds herself intrigued by the masked stranger. She does not want this to be transactional so slips away afterward

Nine months later, she is pregnant and hit by a car. Her doctor is the masked man, determined to save her life, and perhaps his own child. He is also her best friend’s ***hole brother. He knows, but she does not know that he was her masked man.

He is well off, but she has much to teach him about relationships. An intriguing chain of events and relationship building as we all see if they can create something long term.

***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****

An unexpected reread for me !

I realised, after starting the very first chapter that I had read this book, whilst a Kindle Unlimited member years ago. The writing is just so beautifully described and crafted, and succinct , the descriptions encompassing it could almost be a reel in a film.
Fun, thrilling and so very beautifully put together.
Coming to need a paper copy now !!

Most excellent 😁

it kept my attention until….

Page 114. That’s where it ended for me…spoilers‼️

They were in the middle of getting it on when she sees his tattoo and realizes that he was the guy in the mask. Um, duh! She only had s*x once and they had this conversation after she woke up from the accident and it’s been confirmed he’s the dad. So having a “shocking” revelation was so far left field.

Hurry to your kindle and grab this silver fox doctor romance book by J.S. or you will be sorry you didn't. I have never read a book more addictive than this one right here by a new author to myself. Scarlett and Beckett had me hooked just salivating over the cover. This is the type of romance book that might have you biting your lip and blushing at the same time. It's one FANTASTIC 5-star romance book and I can't wait to read more books by J.S.

Rocky roads to happily ever after

The second book of the Chester Street Billionaires is exceptional. Beckett turns from a heartless man into a loving happy husband and lover. Scarlett shows him the way. I enjoyed the storyline and characters a great deal. I found the evolution of Beckett from aloof and cold into a loving Dad to be so sweet. I look forward to the next story of the Quattro group.

Secret Doctor Daddy by J.S. Kingsley is the second book of The Chester Street Billionaires. While I really liked the storyline for Scarlett and Beckett's but I felt that the story jumped all over the place. I think with some major editing their story would be five stars.

Confusing and then rushed

Confusing.... The big "reveal" happens twice where she realizes that he's her child's father. I had to go back to re-read, thinking I lost my mind.

Then at the end a big build up after a villain kidnaps her, and then nothing really happens with that. Suddenly the MMC is very lovey dovey to her.

story was cute

I think this author has potential, there were some pretty obvious story line issues. I feel like I read a book that was started, stopped and then picked up again 6 months later without a reread. Also, I felt like some of the references were a bit “bro” sounding, like a man had input or editing hand in it. Ironically, still a decent story.

always a good story but frustrating with the details

There are a lot of inconsistencies and many redundancies that are repeated in story that make it frustrating. The characters and storyline are good and mostly developed. I guess the details matter too much to me to sometimes enjoy the story

Needs some serious Editing

Good story line but it jumps all over the place. One thing happened in one chapter and then it’s like the writer forgot about it and put it in again in another chapter.

Little of this, A lot of that.

I hesitated a few times wondering if this book was for me. I don't like a lot of suspense and gross things. But unpleasant situations were short. I did enjoy the story and the characters.

Good

There is a lot of repetitive writing. The story is cute and sweet. Its light reading and ends not with a bang but with a very soft landing. I would also call this a very slow burn relationship and not very hot and sexy. Happy Reading ❤

Eh

Started 9ff good enough, but about halfway through it just shifted to inconsistent and just blah. It was hard to get past the change in writing. And even though i was able to finish it, it was a struggle, and the ending was underwhelming.

Argh

Some swoon worthy stuff. What a thrill, what a ride. Thought it was going to be a predictable little romance but Beck falling in love with Scar was so sweet and building a family was so rewarding.

Different twist. The Good Guy is a loveable asshole.

Don't miss out on reading this one. There's all types of emotions from the 2 main characters, lots of intrigue, and a great HEA.

Huh?

The author forgot the big reveal had already been revealed! Or, made some edits and accidentally left in a part that should have been cut?
