“Not a single dull character among them…even the cat is cool.”
“Phenomenal…A romp through the beautiful city, encompassing its unique people and historic buildings, sites sounds and smells, the author captures and evokes the weight of historical zeitgeist and as we scousers would say... blends it.”
“...does for Liverpool what Ben Aaronovitch does for London.”
I love this series. Lilith spends her time trying to be normal, even though she is far from it. She attracts the ghost of a little girl, who moves through time, to save her mother and Lil has to save her and the girl, but has no idea how to do so. A whole cast of allies however step forward and she leans on them, in the meantime her parents visit, but find Lorcan the childhood friend, whom she fancies. They fall by the wayside while she deals with the main story, the child's mother and they all work together. Excellent story.
Things are taking a very weird turn, and that's saying something.
The little girl ghost, Mary, whom she met on a time travel journey has turned up 😮 and that has a knock on effect, when a ghost starts wrecking windows.
The history in this book, though a little twisted, is magnificent.
I always love Lilith and her stories, partly due to there being little bits of real history sprinkled in that get going and looking up the people or things mentioned, always fun to learn new stuff by way of a great story.
I've set a calendar reminder for boom 9! so looking forward to Lilith's next adventure on the streets of Liverpool.
Bit padded and slower paced than usual. New characters introduced but not clear what they add to the arc. Not quite lost it’s way but hopenthe follow up is more satisfying.
Another fantastic read by this author, ive loved everyone so far, cant wait for the next The whole series has been amazing, it's great reading fantasy fiction based in settings you know personally.
