From the very first page, I was completely hooked and ended up reading this in one sitting. The chemistry between Georgie and James is electric; the sparks between them are palpable throughout the entire story. This book strikes the perfect balance of spice, emotional depth, humor, and drama, all leading to a very satisfying HEA. It’s an easy 5-star read for me, and I’m officially a fan of this author’s work.
Huge thanks to Erin for the opportunity to read this! I am already counting down the days until I can read Josh’s story.

I’m always down for a man whose got it bad! This was so good I devoured it! The fake marriage trope done so good, watching their feelings develop for one another! 💋 I definitely suggest you read book one to fully understand something’s but you can get by with skipping the first book. But trust me you won’t want to.
I loved the chemistry between Georgie and James it was electric it had spice! Emotional depth! Humor and drama! Everything to keep me hooked! Georgie’s past is heavy, she is dealing with the loss her her nana, her parents or absent, she has scars that she hasn’t gotten through yet and she ends up pregnant and homeless when she bumps in and crashes into James life. Georgie has walls up high as ever but James is patient, kind and unwavering in his pursuit. He sees her worth and I loved watching him show up for her constantly regardless of her doubts and seeing her start to understand her worth! This was written so beautifully! I can’t wait for Josh’s story!!

I am absolutely head over heels for Set The Record Straight! Erin Olivier completely stole my heart with James and Georgie’s story — and I don’t think I’m getting it back anytime soon.

Sweet Georgie… my heart ached for her from the very first page. Pregnant, homeless, and feeling utterly alone, she’s just trying to survive when fate decides to intervene in the most chaotic yet perfect way possible — she rear-ends James, the drummer for The Outlaws, while going into spontaneous labor! Talk about an unforgettable meet-cute! What could have been just a terrible accident turns into the beginning of something life-changing.

And James. Oh boy, James. This man is EVERYTHING. From the moment he realizes what’s happening, his protective instincts kick in and he doesn’t hesitate. He steps up without question, making sure Georgie and her baby are safe, cared for, and never alone again. He’s the kind of hero who doesn’t just say the right things — he does them. He shows up. He commits. He loves fiercely. A man who only wants the best for the people he cares about and will move mountains to make it happen? Yes. Please.

The emotional depth in this story hit so hard. Georgie’s vulnerability, James’s devotion, the fear, the hope — it all felt so raw and real. And let’s not forget the heat! The chemistry between them absolutely sizzles. Add in some of my all-time favorite tropes — the possessive “my wife” energy and toys-as-teammates — and I was DONE. Completely obsessed.

This story delivered on every level: heart, steam, tenderness, and that swoony found-family vibe that makes you want to hug the book when you finish. Erin Olivier truly outdid herself.

Thank you, Erin, for the ARC! This one is a forever favorite! 💕

This book was so good, perfectly balanced with just the right amount of angst, tension, and heartfelt emotion. Erin Oliver delivers a beautiful slow-burn romance that completely pulled me in and refused to let go.

James is wealthy, successful, and living his rockstar life when everything changes after a car accident. The woman who rear-ends him, Georgie Doyle, goes into labor at the scene. In the chaos, EMTs assume James is her husband, and instead of correcting them, he goes along with it, setting the stage for an unforgettable journey.

Georgie’s story is heartbreaking. She’s homeless, living out of her car, with almost no money and only two contacts in her phone. Her spirit has been shattered by her ex and the father of her baby, leaving her with deep trust issues and a painfully low sense of self-worth. Watching her try to stay strong and independent while carrying so much emotional weight was incredibly moving. Her only goal is to love her baby unconditionally.

After spending a week in the hospital with Georgie and her premature baby, Weston, James’s life quietly shifts. His only message to his bandmates, It’s a boy”, paired with a photo of the three of them says everything. From that moment on, James steps up in ways that made my heart melt.

He moves Georgie and Weston into his home and supports them without pressure or expectations. James is endlessly patient, kind, and protective, giving Georgie the space and time she needs to heal and believe she’s worthy of love. His devotion is unwavering, and honestly, James can do no wrong in my eyes. Especially as a husband and father.

Georgie’s healing journey is beautifully written. The slow burn, the chemistry, the emotional tension, it’s all done so well that you won’t want to put this book down. Watching her find acceptance, safety, and love is incredibly rewarding.

✨ This was such a heartfelt, emotional read, and I loved it so much. I highly recommend adding Set the Record Straight to your TBR, you won’t regret it.

ARC Review

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

What a joy it was to be back in this world. I love these characters and once again the author has delivered a unique story that was enjoyable and bingable.

From the first chapter I was hooked, I quite like how the story was set up and hadn’t read anything like it before. James the gentleman he is staying with Georgie for a week straight in the hospital after giving birth, swoon!! 🥹

I just love babies so much so Weston the little cutie was the star of the show. I love it how he was in it for pretty much the entire book, I need more books like this!!

Moving onto James and Georgie’s relationship, when Erin said a slow burn she wasn’t kidding 🤭 I can’t believe they just didn’t talk sooner but i’m glad they did because they’re a well suited couple, James creating a safe home for Georgie and Weston is so cute 🥰

But there were some things that bothered me so let’s talk about it. First of all when James referred to Georgie’s 🫘 as a pearl that really gave me the ickkkkk 🙈🙅🏼‍♀️

I also found some of the story to just be unrealistic:
- You can’t tell me that Georgie was okay for strangers to be so close to her child instantly.
- James just all of a sudden going from a playboy to stepping up as a father, was so soon and unrealistic for his character.
- James putting his name down as the father on the birth certificate and naming Weston’s middle name James without talking to Georgie the MOTHER of Weston first was just another ick to me, this is a hard no.

I also found the whole ex drama to be so dragged. I started skimming towards the end just because I started getting bored.

Overall the ending was super cute and i’m glad they were all a family in the end 🥹 Thankyou to Erin for the e-ARC, what an amazing book you’ve created, i’m so curious for Josh’s book next! 💙

What a delightful romance! This book had me feeling feels, smiling, exclaiming, giggling, swooning, glaring, and cheering so hard. It was so much fun!

Georgie is a pregnant out of work waitress.

James is a drummer in a famous country band.

They meet when her truck hits his. He ends up saying he is her husband when she is taken to the hospital. And oops, now they are fake married and she & her baby are moving in with him. (who hasn't been there?) And so they start to get to know each other and building a life together while attraction also starts to build. It gets so good from there!

Georgie is so sweet and her story hurt my heart. She is so used to being hurt and left that it is her default expectation. She wants to give her baby more than she had but doesn't know how that can possibly happen. But she doesn't let that stop her from trying. She takes risk (hello stranger she fake married & moved in with) because her baby needs safety and she fights for her place at the table (hello waitressing job & voicing her ideas). I loved her growth. I loved her learning to trust James' love. I loved her healing & finding a home.

James is so sweet and protective. He is the ultimate protector which is clear from the second he meets Georgie. His love & attraction for her is gorgeous. And his love for his baby? Yeah, because at no point is that baby not his. It is so beautiful. And I love how he encourages Georgie's dreams. He has gotten to live his and he wants that for her.

I loved these two so much. Their stories. Their love. Their family. So beautiful.

This is my first Erin Olivier book and you can put me on the fan list. I am so excited to read the first in the series and will be watching for the next book. The story had a good flow, my brain could keep track of everything and it engaged both my brain & heart. Love.

I received this as an ARC and am so, so thankful. This had no impact on my review.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5 Stars

I went into Set the Record Straight completely blind. Erin Oliver asked me to read it, and I figured, why not? The cover was cute, so how bad could it be? Well… I was not prepared for how blown away I’d be.

This book isn’t just good it’s amazing.

James is everything. Truly the kind of book boyfriend every woman wants. The way he loves Georgie, supports her, and shows up for her had me swooning nonstop. And his relationship with Weston? My heart. The love, patience, and care he shows made this story so much deeper and more emotional than I expected.

The relationship between James and Georgie felt real, layered, and beautifully written. Their connection pulled me in fast and never let go. I laughed, I melted, and I was completely invested from start to finish.

This is book two in the Outlaw series, and I’ll be honest I haven’t read book one yet. But after this? That is definitely changing. This book works perfectly as a standalone, so don’t let that stop you, but now I need more from this world.

If you’re on the fence, don’t be. Set the Record Straight exceeded every expectation I didn’t even know I had. Erin Oliver just earned herself a new must read author for me.

“I love you for your sweet disposition, your quiet strength, your loud laugh, your ability to spread love to everyone around you even when the world hasn’t given nearly enough love back to you.” - James Harper

@authorerinolivier blew me away with Set the Record Straight. Contemporary romance is not usually my jam, and I am SO glad I took a step out of my comfort zone to read this. While it is the second in the Outlaw series, you can absolutely read it without having read the first.

This book hit close to home for me for a handful of reasons. I'll start by saying that, unlike Georgie and Nolan, my co-parenting situation is wonderful. However, my husband is absolutely my child's father, just as much as her bio-dad. I really related to Georgie because, for a long time, my self-worth was tied to how I believed other people perceived me and my size. My husband helped by breaking me free from that mentality. He helped by showing me that I was better than just taking what I assumed I deserved in life and in love. James's words and actions reminded me a lot of my husband.

Truly, the best things about this book are the relatable, complex characters and the happy ending that they deserved.

I adored this book! The amount of love between James and Georgie had my heart in a chokehold. The character growth was phenomenal.

James was the absolute perfect partner to Georgie. He provided her a safe place for comfort, safety, and support. He claimed Weston as his own without hesitation. James fell head over heels in love with Georgie. His protective nature when it came to her and her safety made me melt. He did absolutely everything to make sure she felt loved and cherished always.

Georgie’s story broke my heart but made it so much more whole by the end. Her struggle with her ex and loving yourself was so emotional. Watching her grow and find love again with James and Weston was beautiful. Despite her past, she’s extremely loving and full of grace. Their love for each other just kept growing and I loved it!

Set the Record Straight is a sweet and spicy read that hits you with all the feels. Georgie and James have one of the wildest “meet cute” moments I have ever read! Their story starts immediately and never slows down. You quickly fall in love with them like they have with each other! Their story is a wild ride that has a fake marriage, a plus size fmc, a famous drummer mmc, an age gap, found family, “toys as teammates” moments, and a baby that isn’t his. It is sweet and swoony with great spice and great character/relationship development with Georgie and James. James is so good to her and Weston. He is top tier book boyfriend material. 🫶🏼

I can’t wait for Josh’s book. ❤️

I will say that while the overall feel of the book isn’t heavy it does contain moments of heavy subject matter so please read the trigger warnings. ❤️

This book sucked me right in! I thought the first book, Every Now and Then, held all the cards as far as amazing characters.

I was wrong. James and Georgie were so lovely. The fake marriage trope is one that I love and this was so well done!

I loved James and how his grumpy exterior really just hid a soft mushy center. He was the ultimate care taker and he had a dirty mouth that make me blush.

Georgie was the sweetest girl and she made me feel so seen. I wanted to hug her so hard for all she went through as a child and leading up to meeting James. I adored her and loved watching her grow.

I had all the feels while reading this. I laughed, cried, and very much enjoyed the ride.

Drummer MMC
Not his baby

Thank you Erin for the ARC! *This is my very first ever ARC. I'm so thankful for the opportunity and it was a bit of a learning curve for me. I had no idea what went into them, but they seemed like fun. I'm a fairly new reviewer. While this is my first ARC and I received an advanced copy, I will always provide honest feedback. I, for one, have read reviews that I can tell were given to them and it was more obvious as I read the story. You won't find that here :) *

✨ Romance Comfort-Read Alert ✨

This review comes from a reader who loves:
🛑 No cheating / no OW-OM drama
💞 Low angst (together > apart)
🚫💔 No third-act breakup — I’m tired and I want them happy
👑 Strong FMC
💪 Take-charge MMC
🔥 Reformed playboy > current manwhore, but never manwhore is preferred
💬 Miscommunication allowed if resolved like adults
🏡 HEA ALWAYS

I read for joy, vibes, and emotional safety. If you’re here for chaos and pain… we might not be reading the same book 😌📚 I also tend not to rework the summary into reviews because chances are you’ve already read it to get to the book review part of the show.

My Review:
💞 I am 100% ALWAYS going to love a MMC refer to his FMC as "Darlin'" I'll melt immediately and do whatever they ask, and this quote lands right: "Darlin’. That endearment, sliding from his lips with ease, hits me like a sucker punch." James is such a good man. **swoony**
💞 Georgie is pregnant, and her meet cute-ish with James involves an accident. From the jump, James is thoughtful, caring, and attentive. He goes with her to the hospital, lets the staff think she is his wife/her baby is his. He is a famous drummer, and he just jumped into this situation that his PR team would NEVER encourage. He's a stand-up man. Green flags abound. He can seem a bit grumpy, but he's gooshy for her. As someone who has a man who, on the outside appears to be rough and grumpy, but is gooshy for me-I can hang with this type.
💞 Our man sports the backwards ball cap. Nothing more to say.
🥵 James and his filthy mouth. "When she drops to straddle my face, I’m convinced this is heaven"
🥵“You make me fucking feral, Georgie. You. Are. Mine.”

James is absolutely book boyfriend goals. He loves and supports her. And he's funny. When she is deciding on a name for her kid, he references one of my all time favorite threads: Tradgeigh names, and man does she cycle through several. Thank God for James putting her on the right track. LOL

Georgie, God bless her, her past is heavy. She has A LOT to overcome and work through. This book has heart, emotional depth, romance, it's funny, plus size FMC, little bit of an age-gap...All in all, this is a good read, I read it so fast! You will not be disappointed!

✨ Her place in my life isn't temporary. With me, she's found a home. ✨

🎵 ARC Review: Set the Record Straight by Erin Olivier

First off, before we get into the review, I read this in 1 day.  If that tells you anything, do yourself a favor and add this one to your TBR immediately.

Releasing January 29th, Set the Record Straight is book two in the Outlaw series, and as a brand‑new reader of Erin Olivier, I could not be more thrilled that this ARC landed in my hands. I devoured every single page.  If you haven’t read book one yet (like me), you’ll be grabbing it the second you finish this. And book three? I’m already counting down the days.

This story follows Georgie and James through a tangled, emotional, beautifully messy journey built on misunderstandings, unexpected connection, and the slow, steady work of learning to trust again.

Georgie, 24, is homeless, pregnant, and out of options when she crashes, literally, into James’ life. What starts as a chaotic misunderstanding spirals into a lie neither of them knows how to untangle. But James, 35, steps up in a way he never had to. He opens his home, his heart, and his entire world to Georgie and her newborn son, offering not just safety but stability, tenderness, and the kind of love she’s never been shown.

Georgie’s past is heavy. Absent parents, the loss of her nanna, and an ex who left scars deeper than she realizes. Trusting anyone feels impossible. But James is patient, gentle, and unwavering. He sees her worth long before she does, and watching him show up for her again and again made me melt. I found myself rooting for Georgie to finally receive the love she deserved and for James to fill the emptiness he’s carried with the family he never expected to find.

Tropes you'll find:

🎵Age gap

🎵Fake marriage

🎵Plus‑size FMC

🎵Drummer/Celebrity MMC

🎵Found family

🎵A whole lot of heart

This book surprised me in the best ways. The twists were unexpected, the emotional beats hit perfectly, and the character growth was so satisfying. The entire cast shines, which is exactly why book one is now next on my list. And while I wasn’t Josh’s biggest fan for most of the story, Erin Olivier completely flipped my opinion by the end… and now I’m very ready for his book!

Paris Rona's ARC book review

This book is a wild ride!!! The beginning wraps you right in the middle of the action, and is unconventional, but that's what made it memorable. It's a breath of fresh air to see the main couple meet like that, so immediately I was hooked! The development of the main couple's relationship (Georgie and James) is so authentic and real, it made me root for them against all odds. I loved how James keeps pining over Georgie, and immediately knows that he has feelings for her. He's definitely on my top MMC's because he's just so solid and a rock, and while he makes mistakes, he definitely knows how to fix it. I love an MMC tuned to his emotions and knows what he wants. Georgie is also one of my fav FMC's as well because she's such a fighter, and in the face of adversity, rises to the challenge and always keeps sight of what matters-Weston and James, in that order. She went through so much and through James' love became stronger and more self assured. I feel like her and I could be besties irl which is a testament to how good of a character she is and how much she changed overtime. I loved that there were multiple conflicts between family members, society and the legal system. Georgie and James were so solid as a couple; It really was them against the world, which I LOVE, because usually it's a journey for a couple to get together, but for them they got together, and then they dealt with their problems together. The spicy scenes were out of this world! This might be one of the spiciest books I've read, and they were amazing! The scenes were also some that I don't see often in romance, which is super important, because you really get invested in the progression of their relationship. I'm still in awe that this book is so good, and the ending was chef's kiss! I loved all of the side characters (looking at you Josh, Hayes and Annabelle!) and can't wait to read Josh's (James' brother) book next! Erin Olivier has become one of my top favorite auto buy authors and I can't wait for what's coming up soon!

Erin Olivier really knows how to keep you hooked from page one. Georgie and James’s story was everything I was not expecting, which made me love it even more. There is just something about a man stepping up and taking on a fatherly role when the baby is not his, right?

Georgie is at the lowest point of her life. She is pregnant, jobless, homeless, and painfully alone. She has no one, and she worries constantly about not being able to be a good mother to her baby. Her situation felt heavy and heartbreaking, and I truly hurt for her.

But who knew a car accident would completely change her and her baby’s life? Enter James. He was involved in the accident and walked in with his arms and his heart wide open, ready to welcome Georgie and her baby. When no one came looking for her at the hospital, he knew something was wrong. He knew they needed someone. Without even hesitating, he decided to help them, pretend he was married to Georgie and that Westie was his, and rescue them from the unknown. Oh, James. What a man. He completely melted me into a puddle.

And we all know what happens when you start pretending. Lines blur and boundaries fade. Despite his best efforts, James could not avoid the feelings he started developing for Georgie and the baby. And despite her fears, Georgie could not deny that James was a real man who respected, cherished, and deeply cared for her and Westie. Once they both stopped pretending, it was pure fireworks.

The spice was absolutely delicious. James was a total giver, and he showed Georgie that her body deserved to be loved exactly as it was. He had me blushing with how feral he was for her.

This is the second book in the Outlaws series, and yes, it can be read as a standalone, but I really suggest starting from book one because it is just as good. Trust me, you do not want to miss out on these characters!

Thank you so much to Erin for this beautiful ARC!

🩵ARC REVIEW!🩵

Oh My God! Just, wow! Someone throw me back into the pages of this book because I was not mentally prepared to leave! “Set The Record Straight” is everything, and I feel the need to petition Erin for a novella.

The book stars Georgie, far along in her pregnancy, living in her car, and at her wits end on how her and her baby would survive. That is, until a fateful accident has James crashing into her life.

It takes a simple misunderstanding from hospital staff and soon, they fall into the roles of husband and wife. What started as a ruse to shelter Georgie and her newborn, and protect James’s celebrity reputation develops into something deeper when their proximity nurtured feelings that soon found them seeking home in each other’s arms.

I absolutely adored everything about this book. Georgie’s hesitation and fear to let James in when she recalls the abuse of her last relationship struck deep. Her readiness to leave and provide for her son alone and James’s fierce determination to prove to her that she was already home was the pinnacle of the story that held me tight and refused to let go.

The way James never needed to be told, the way he showed up for her and baby Weston was so endearing and pure and genuine that it left me speechless. What I admired most in this book was Georgie’s unwillingness to stay broken by her past. She built herself back up and never let the mounds of bitter memories turn her cold.

James and Georgie’s book is an exceptional five star read because the Outlaw Series has had my heart since Hayes and Annabelle’s story (Every Now and Then, Book 1) and I don’t intend to recover from the beautiful relationships you continued to craft in this book and many more books of yours I continue to anticipate. PS: Thank you for letting me spam your DMs in fangirl mode while I read, Erin! I promise it will happen again 😂.

✨ARC REVIEW✨

⭐️: 5

💭: Erin Olivier delivered an absolute powerhouse of a romance in under 400 pages, and honestly? I don’t know how she pulled it off so beautifully. Sweet, funny, unconventional, emotionally rich, and packed with found family goodness - with just a touch of suspense that I loved.

Georgie is at the lowest point of her life - 34 weeks pregnant, fiercely independent, and carrying the weight of a lifetime of being used and overlooked. Her situation is far from ideal, but her strength and quiet resilience make her impossible not to root for.

Enter James. Drummer for a famous country band. Steady, loyal, dependable… and a broody loner who spends his downtime restoring vintage cars. When Georgie quite literally crashes into his life, we get the ultimate cinnamon-roll-meets-moody-musician hero - and I was 18% in when I realized I was fully obsessed. Like… sweating while typing this level of obsessed.

What unfolds over just a few weeks is raw, tender, and achingly beautiful. You won’t be able to do anything but root for James and Georgie - even when it all starts with one impossible choice: set the record straight… or pretend to be fake married.

And listen. Sweet, closed-off Georgie absolutely does something to James. Because along with his devotion comes a filthy-mouthed version of him that will have you fully fanning yourself. You’ve been warned. 🔥

This story felt perfectly balanced. I laughed, held my breath, swooned hard, and fell completely in love. James and Georgie gave me all the feels, and the band family? You’re going to adore them.

This is book two in the Outlaw series - you can read it as a standalone, but I highly recommend starting with book one. I’m still an official Erin Olivier fan for life… though she does owe me for using the same name as my son 😂 (totally kidding😘).

🌶️🌶️🌶️

Let me start by saying Erin secured me as a ride or die after I read “Every Now and Then” and I was immediately desperate for more. Well wish freaking granted, Set the Record Straight completely BLEW ME AWAY! I was so wrapped up in James, Georgie, and sweet Weston J., that I read it in one sitting – I didn’t just binge it, I DEVOURED it!

James is everything you want, this incredible man that is thoughtful, dependable, and has the biggest heart. His absolute devotion to Georgie and Weston stole my heart instantly. The tender moments where he can’t get enough of her and is determined to find a way to keep her right by his side. This book is so beautifully written, from the pacing to the storyline to the characters. I love a well done slow burn and this is the most delicious one, the slow butterflies feel build up and yearning was PERFECTION!

And holy Georgie! This powerhouse of a woman is the epitome of strength, perseverance, loyalty, and grace. She holds her head up high when life feels impossible and is determined to “fake it til you make it” in the worst of circumstances.

This story completely swept me away, it is filled with the best ropes and filled with banter, spice, and the most soul swallowing feel good moments. When I read the last page, I immediately wanted more! I can’t wait to see where this series goes, Erin has a way of drawing you in and holding you there until you realize you’ve been in a chokehold for hours! This series will be filled with books that you want to reread over and over again!

Thank you, Erin, for allowing me to ARC read for you, it was an absolute pleasure to read, and I can’t wait for more! I will continue to shout this series from the rooftops, it’s that good!

After a Rube Goldberg-esque series of events involving 3 vehicles, a country road and a very pregnant homeless woman, James finds himself comforting Georgie while she deals with having a baby with no support. It is really nice to see how James just sees a lack of help and love then does everything he can to be what Georgie needs. Understandably Georgie is wary of anyone supposedly giving her things for free, but she goes along with it for the sake of his image.
From the start, James is such a strong, stable person. He is so sweet and swoony the whole time he is figuring out why he is drawn so strongly to this too young girl who he just met. It was fun to watch as Georgie slowly starts to believe James' compliments and sincere words. I loved the way the Outlaw family showed up for him once they saw he was so invested. It was really sweet the way they all joined in to accept and love the new members of their little family. It was one of my favorite things in the first book too.
And of course you can't blame Georgie for being into her personal savior when he does pretty much anything for her. From the gifts that just show up for her, to taking care of and restoring her truck, he ticks all the thoughtful, sexy, caretaker boxes.
I really enjoyed the book overall, it gave me all the feels, and still kept me laughing at times too. It was sexy while still being heartfelt. I wish there had been a little more with the band, but I'm sure there will be more in the next book in the series. This book is great for anyone who likes to see a man step up and take care of his chosen woman, and a woman step into the amazing woman she should always have been had she been shown a little love from day one.

I seriously was so blown away by this book and it hit way closer to home than I ever imagined. I finished it and it was the easiest 5 star rating I’ve given a book.

The biggest take away for me that made this book 5 stars was the way it handled body image and self worth. Georgie’s past relationship included a betrayal that was incredibly hard to read and while I’m not plus sized and our experiences aren’t the same, the feelings behind it were painfully familiar.

I’m going to be real and honest about myself real quick. As a burn survivor, I’ve spent years struggling with body image. While it’s not an everyday thing and most of the time I’m proud of my body for surviving what it did, I occasionally carry a tiny sense of insecurity because of my scars, and my leg, and it’s because of the way others have treated me because of how I look. I’ve been told my scars are “gross,” that no one would love me because I had one leg, and I’ve even had an ex turn my body into something to negatively brag about instead of something to respect. Those experiences stick with you and they shape how safe you feel in relationships. It makes you question how worthy you believe you are of love.

Seeing Georgie navigate those same feelings of shame and insecurity while slowly reclaiming her worth made me feel deeply seen. Not because our stories are the same, but because the emotional impact was. That connection is what made this book an easy 5 stars for me.

This was romantic, validating, and healing in a way I didn’t expect and I’m so grateful I got to read it early.

Thank you, Erin Olivier, for trusting me with a copy of this ARC. You made me feel seen and validated as a reader 🥹

✨ Her place in my life isn't temporary. With me, she's found a home. ✨

Set The Record Straight is book two in the Outlaw series, which is to be a collection of interconnected standalones by Erin Olivier.

While I'm still new to contemporary romances, this one knocked it out of the freakin park! This was a mix of heartbreak and overcoming the traumas of past abuse as well as a new life and found family.

I completely fell head over heels for James (which was extremely surprising because he's technically a blonde and I don't do blondes 🤣) and his grumpy but very caring and considerate personality. Georgette had such a rough life and while she's trying to make the best of an insane situation for the sake of her child, she has a hard time trusting and fully opening up. The chemistry between the two was so instant and delicious, I stayed up WAY too late last night because I was so invested. And when things finally start heating up...🥵 I ain't lyin'.

This had a very good representation of past mental abuse and the hardships of trying to overcome the learned behavior and thought process behind it as well! 💕

Even after finishing the book, I still haven't forgiven Josh (James's brother) for the things he said about my Georgie 😒 so he's gonna need one hell of a redemption arc in the next book!

Absolutely enjoyed this one, it was fast paced and was written quite well, I have zero complaints (except about Josh 😡). I highly recommend picking this up when it releases January 29th! ✨

Fake marriage
Not his baby

Thank you to the author for providing me with an ARC

Every Now and Then is book one in the series, and I loved that one so I couldn’t wait to read Set the Record Straight. I really enjoyed this one too especially the way Georgie “crashed” into James’s life… like literally. He took her to the hospital because she was pregnant and in labor!! So the medical team thought they were married and so their fake marriage started right after they met. So funny right?!! And to make it even better James is a drummer in a famous band.

Georgie is a single mom who is struggling since her ex boyfriend left her when she told him she was pregnant. James offers her and her baby to live in his house for a few months until she gets on her feet. And of course, with him being famous all eyes are on him and everyone is wondering why he has a new girl and a new baby. The public is very curious and wants all the details.

Overtime, their fake marriage doesn’t take long for both of them to notice they have real feelings for one another. Georgie has trust issues from her ex, and James is willing to do anything and everything to show her that his feelings are genuine and he’s not going anywhere.

I also honestly loved how hands on James is with Georgie’s baby. He gets her everything she needs for the baby. Offers to take the baby so she can catch up on sleep, take a shower, eat, whatever she needs he’s there with open arms and ready to help. That was such a great part of the story, James is protective and so supportive. I definitely recommend reading this book. Just be sure to start with book one Every Now and Then.

4.5 out of 5

If a man calls me "Darlin’" in a Southern drawl, I am officially a puddle on the floor. 🫠 I just finished Set the Record Straight by Erin Oliver, and James is the absolute blueprint for a top-tier book boyfriend. This book had me feeling everything—smiling, swooning, and cheering so hard for this couple!

The "meet-cute" is more like a "meet-crash"—Georgie is nine months pregnant, out of work, and accidentally hits James’s truck. When she’s rushed to the hospital, James (who just happens to be a famous country drummer!) tells the staff he’s her husband so he can stay by her side. Before they know it, they’re in a fake marriage, and Georgie and her baby are moving into his house. It’s the kind of chaotic, beautiful "forced proximity" that I live for!

James is the ultimate green flag. He’s that perfect mix of grumpy on the outside but total "gooshy" mush for his girl. He sports the backwards ball cap (we love to see it!), he’s incredibly protective, and the way he steps up for Georgie’s baby, Weston, is everything. He treats that baby like his own from second one, taking night shifts so Georgie can sleep and buying everything they could ever need. He doesn't just want Georgie; he wants their whole little family.

I also adored Georgie. She is a plus-size FMC who has been through so much heartbreak, and watching her learn to trust James was so healing. She’s resilient and sweet, and her baby name phase had me literally laughing out loud! This was my first Erin Oliver book, but I am officially a lifelong fan. It’s got heart, emotional depth, hilarious banter, and so much warmth.

Found Family- add it to your TBR!!

Set the Record Straight is a small-town romance that leans hard into heart, healing, and the kind of love that shows up when you least expect it. Georgie is a plus-size FMC who feels real in every sense—guarded, strong, hurting, and quietly brave. After being left to pick up the pieces of her life, she finds herself tangled in a fake marriage with James… and wow, James. A drummer MMC with a calm, steady presence who proves over and over that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

The age gap is done so well—no weird power imbalance, just two people at different places in life choosing each other intentionally. The “not his baby” trope is handled with so much tenderness, and James stepping into that role without hesitation had me emotional more than once. Add in a found family that wraps around Georgie like a safety net and a charming small-town setting, and I was fully locked in.

What really stood out was how Erin Olivier writes emotional intimacy. Every look, every quiet moment, every choice James makes feels earned. The fake marriage slowly blurs into something achingly real, and watching Georgie learn that she deserves unwavering love was everything.

This story isn’t just about romance—it’s about being chosen, believed in, and supported when the world has already tried to knock you down.

If you love:
• age gap romance
• fake marriage → real feelings
• found family
• plus-size FMC rep
• drummer MMC
• “he steps up” energy

…this one belongs on your TBR immediately. 💛🎶

I want to thank the author for choosing me to be an arc reader for this book!

First and foremost, I’d like to thank Erin and her team for this ARC opportunity! This book has defiantly become a favourite of mine and defiantly my favourite of the two in the series so far! James and Georgie have my whole heart!

Their story is so special and unique and what a wild ride it was to be able to experience it! I was hooked from the start and didn't want their story to end. They had this connection from the start that was so addictive!

- Plus size FMC
- Found Family

James was not who I expected, but in such a good way! He is so protective of Both Georgie and the bubba! He not only wishes the best for Georgie and the baby, but supports her in achieving it, while showing her that he is worth it, that he can be the man she needs. And my gosh, his relationship with the baby is EVERYTHING! His love only kept growing and I was obsessed.

Georgie my girl! I was so in love with her from the start! She has been through so much and the way she composes herself is so amazing! She only wants what is best from the baby and I'm so glad she follows her gut! She is independent, loyal and so loving that I was so obsessed with her!

If you are looking for a emotional, funny, romantic and such a good read, look no further! I wish their book didn't have to end! I just wanted to keep reading about their success and family. I will always recommend this book and series!

I received an ARC copy from the author. I really enjoyed this book.

James is in a country band as the drummer. He also must be really good because he makes steps in for another band when their drummer gets the flu. He likes to restore cars during his downtime and never took being in a relationship too serious. While taking one of his restored cars out for a spin he meets Georgie. Georgie is going through a string of misfortunes, one of the being she caused a 3 car accident because her water broke and she was having contractions. James being the "Good Samaritan" goes to the hospital with Georgie, stays with her during the delivery and hospital stay, and after realizing she does not have a place to stay after being released, offers her a place to stay. James did tell all the staff that Georgie was his wife though and this book makes it clear that he does not want the bad PR.
This is the second book of the series and my first Erin Olivier book. I like that I did not feel lost without reading the first one. The side characters are all members of James's band but I'm not overwhelmed by them all being there. Now Josh is an asshole in the beginning but I am excited to read his story next.
As unrealistic as this situation seem, going home with a stranger after having a baby that he knows is not his, it was not forced. It was a easy read and I grew invested in how this story would conclude. I really appreciate that there was not a third act break up. I'm definitely going to add the first to my tbr and I can't wait for the next.

Set the Record Straight by Erin Olivier is the second book in the series and we are so grateful for the opportunity to read the ARC.
Set the Record Straight leans into some popular romance tropes: marriage of convenience, not-his-baby, found family, age gap, and a country music star/drummer MMC paired with a curvy FMC.
On paper, it has all the ingredients for an emotionally satisfying romance, and there were definitely elements we enjoyed, especially getting to know the characters and seeing the found family dynamics continue to expand within the series.
That said, this installment just didn’t quite land for us overall. While we liked the main characters individually, there were some noticeable inconsistencies in their behavior that made it hard to stay fully immersed in their story. At times, their actions or emotional reactions didn’t quite line up with what we were being told, which pulled us out of the romance. We also struggled with the pacing, some moments felt rushed while others lingered too long and that imbalance made it difficult to really settle into the emotional beats of the story.
The biggest hurdle for us, though, was the romance itself. We found ourselves confused about how and when the characters truly fell in love. The emotional connection didn’t feel as clearly developed as we would have liked, which made the relationship feel more told than shown. While Set the Record Straight has a strong trope lineup and characters with potential, the execution didn’t fully come together for us, making this one a miss despite its promising premise.

First of all, I've found myself a new favorite author. I'm so obsessed with these books by Erin and I'll read anything she writes.

This is book two in the Outlaw series and I recently discovered Erin and her books. This series is going to be interconnected standalones.

This book was a rollercoaster of emotions. It's a mix of overcoming trauma from the past and heartbreak and now trying to figure a new life.

I want to give James a massive shoutout. What a MMC. I am obsessed. He is a bit grumpy but most of all he's caring and loving. Georgie is just the bestest. I love her and she deserves the entire world and more. Weston, James and Georgie is just the perfect family and I loved to follow their journey.

The chemistry between James and Georgie was spot on. I loved it. The spice was spiceing. And the slow burn was slow burning.

I am obsessed with this book and I can't wait to see what comes next. I loved this book and I'll recommend it to everyone. This was such a beautiful read and I HIGHLY recommend it besties.

Erin you have done such an amazing job with this book. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it 🥹🫶💗

I have been wanting to read this book since I read the first in the series. The anticipation was high, and Set the Record Straight lived up to it. I loved this one so much. The found family, the care taking, the swoony moments, the chorus, I couldn't get enough. The story is set over several months, but I felt like it moved at a good pace, and I loved there was no third act break up. One of the side characters was on my shit list, and they only half redeemed themselves, they need to do a little more in the next book to make up completely. This overall is such a lovely read.

James, our MMC, hes one swoony mfer, honestly. The mouth on that man was knuckle, biting good, and just how he kept showing up for Georgie I was a puddle. I loved how fierce he loved not only Georgie but his big love for Weston, too. Like straight away, even though he was not biologically his baby, he was still all in on being his father. He had massive caretaking vibes, which were just *chefs kiss*. Just a big old puddle over this man.

Georgie, our FMC, had a hard life and was not in a good place when she first meets James, but she's no dummy so when be offers to help she takes it and I loved her for her sensibility. It took a while for her to trust, but when she did, they were so beautiful together. I loved she was plus size and had insecurities like we all do but didn't let it stop her get the love she deserved.
