He burned her world to ash.
Now she holds the match.

For twenty years, Seraphina has hunted the monster who slaughtered her sisters.

When she finally finds him, he’s wearing a new name; and a smile sharp enough to cut.

Drawn into a war between Heaven, Hell, and the sea that made her, Seraphina is forced into an uneasy alliance with the very creature she swore to destroy. As ancient powers close in and desire blurs the line between vengeance and want, she must decide whether to trust the demon who ruined her life… or become the weapon prophecy demands.

Because the prophecy doesn’t promise salvation.
It promises fire.

Songbird and Hellfire is a celestial dark romantasy featuring enemies-to-lovers tension, morally grey immortals, and a prophecy written in fire and blood.

Heaven vs Hell, but make it obsession, with FMC a Siren, MMC a Demons, and a Love That Burns!

This was a strong debut from Indie Author Chelsea Elliott!
I’m really glad I got the chance to read it early. The writing is beautiful and pulls you in right away, making it easy to get lost in the story, and spice, I needed my fan! That's all I'm going too say.

It follows an enemies-to-lovers journey with a darker edge, where emotions run deep and nothing feels easy. The connection between the characters grows through tension, conflict, and moments that really stay with you.

The story mixes action, supernatural elements, and romance in a way that keeps things moving while still giving you time to feel everything. It builds toward an intense ending that leaves you wanting more.

If you enjoy stories with Sirens, demons, lots of spice and complicated relationships, this is definitely one to pick up. Impatiently waiting for book 2.

Review of ARC

Chelsea Elliott’s debut novel is spectacular. From the get-go, you are entranced by the style of writing and the world that is brought to life.

This dark, celestial romance finds Seraphina, a Siren, seeking revenge for her sisters who were slaughtered by a monster. This leads her to a war between Heaven and Hell and an ancient prophecy that shows how valuable she is to the right or wrong people.

Sera is filled with grief and rage for her sisters, a fire that fuels her throughout the novel. She’s a badass FMC who can lure you in and destroy you with her song.

Atticus captivates you from the minute he descends the spiral staircase in his club. He’s morally grey and dangerous as the sharpest blade, but you can’t help but fall in love with him.

Dagon. I hated him with a passion. Honestly, Worm tongue comes to mind whenever I think of him, draining power from Sera so she didn’t even know her full power or what she had hidden inside her. He felt like he owned Sera, but luckily, Sera never fell for his lies. Never hated a character more. Although…

Raphael has to take a very close second place for wanting to basically make Sera a breeding machine. He feels he has a basic right to Sera so their children will be an army to conquer Hell and Lucifer himself.

Lucifer was calm and composed throughout. Although his mask did slip a few times when he didn’t predict an outcome. He made me think of Hades from Disney’s Hercules when he’s calm; he’s deadly.

And Isolde was brilliant, popping up out of nowhere and then disappearing into thin air. She made me think that everything to her was so obvious, and she thought everyone was stupid.

This is a book that can’t be rushed and leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to see what Chelsea has next in store.

wowsers!
Now this is what you call a debut! Literally just finished it, and ran straight to here.

'Raphael wants me bred, Lucifer wants me broken.'

Seraphina is the last siren. She watched the rest of her choir die horribly.
The plot, the characters.... especially Dagon, his obsession over her and desire to keep her with him at all costs, he made an excellent baddie.

The way the author wrote this, weaved the story, with all the descriptions, made for a lovely read, the sort you want to take your time over to fully appreciate.

This story has:
enemies to lovers
betrayal
angels and demons
obsession
and spice. Omg, the spice!

This is an author to watch.

You know you have read a good book when you end up hating one of the characters. Dagon is an ass. Chelsea's debut novel is well written, with a compelling storyline that keeps you hooked all the way through. Twists that you don't see coming, and a touch of spice that leaves you wanting more! Strong lead characters that you root for all the way through. Thankyou Chelsea for letting me ARC read this unputdownable adventure!

This was the first book, that made me cry. I could not put it down.
Starting out, with an FMC, who wants to find answers. She knows she is slowly falling into a trap. And still goes back to the MMC, because he got the answers.
What she doesn't know. The MMC is commanded by his handler Lucifer.
When both Raphael and Lucifer wants her. She doesn't know who to trust.
The person who found her, at her weakest and raised her. The MMC, who falls in love with her? And fights by her site. Or the ruler of hell, Lucifer. Or the right hand angel Raphael.
You see how the FMC becoming stronger. More into her power. But, also more into what she wants. And the MMC, who fights the link with his master. To protect her.

Hooked from page 1

All the things!!! I went into this mostly blind and I'm so happy I did. While the UK was burning in a heat wave I was sipping cold drinks in front of a fan racing through these pages. I've never read or heard of this author until I was a post on Threads and I'm so happy I found her. I need more from this world. I'm hooked.

Dark, emotional, and full of tension—this one hooked me fast. The enemies-to-lovers dynamic is a true slow burn, with just the right amount of angst and chemistry to keep you invested.

The atmosphere really stands out, blending celestial and underworld elements into a world that feels both dangerous and immersive. I just wish the pacing was a bit more consistent and that some side characters had more depth.

Overall, a compelling romantasy with high stakes and strong emotional pull—I’ll definitely be continuing the series. 🔥

Songbird and Hellfire by Chelsea Elliott is a dark, celestial romantasy that burns its way into your bones and leaves scorch marks behind.
This story is ruthless in the best way. Seraphina, the last siren, carries twenty years of grief, rage, and survival after watching her entire choir die brutally. Her vengeance is cold, precise, and earned. When the monster she’s hunted turns out to be hiding behind a new name and a dangerously charming smile, the book detonates into something far more complex than a simple revenge tale.
The worldbuilding is lush and intentional. Heaven, Hell, and the sea are not just settings they are forces that press in on the characters, shaping every choice. The prophecy is not comforting or redemptive. It promises fire, blood, and loss, and the story never flinches from that truth
Dagon is an exceptional antagonist. His obsession with Seraphina, his need to possess and protect her at any cost, makes him magnetic and terrifying. He is the kind of villain you can’t look away from, layered with hunger, power, and inevitability. Every scene with him tightens the tension.
The enemies-to-lovers dynamic is sharp, slow-burning, and emotionally charged. Desire blurs with hatred, trust is poisoned by betrayal, and the push and pull between vengeance and want is exquisitely done. When the spice hits, it hits hard. It’s intense, deliberate, and woven seamlessly into character and plot rather than feeling gratuitous.
Chelsea Elliott’s prose is rich and immersive. This is the kind of book you don’t rush through. You savor it. The descriptions, the pacing, the emotional weight all demand attention and reward it.
I cannot wait to see how much more fire this world unleashes next.

⭐️ADVANCED READERS COPY FROM THE AUTHOR⭐️

Chelsea, Chelsea, Chelsea…what can i say…? Omg girl. This book had me captivated from the moment I hear Ivan and Dani narrate a chapter and I knew I needed to look you up and find out if you were looking for ARC readers.

This book is Book of Chains 1 and it does not stop giving you from the first opening line to the last page in the epilogue. We are introduced to the last siren, who is on a mission to find answers. You will just have to read this captivating story from author Chelsea Elliot.

It seems that we also get introduced to other characters in this book, we have Atticus…when you meet him you’ll be left with your heart racing. Then we have Dagon, well I’m not sure what to say about this one without giving away anything.

But it seems that everyone wants this beautiful siren. From heaven to hell…you will just have to read it when it comes out to witness the power of this siren and her spicy adventures…

If you like enemies to lovers, angels and demons and spice then Chelsea has given it to you. But I can say I walked away with a feeling of dislike for some characters and a growing obsession with others. When this one comes out, dont walk but run and pick up a copy as you wont be disappointed.

This was an incredible debut and I’m so grateful I got to beta read. The ANGST. The YEARNING. The stunning prose and gorgeous dialogue. This is a book to take your time with and relish every word.

It’s a strong enemies to lovers plot with an ‘us against the world’ undercurrent in the end. The final chapters hit hard and you’re not sure if Chelsea is going to brutally wound us or give us a lifeline but I won’t spoil it.

If you loved the angel themed episodes of supernatural this is the book for you, expect lots of heaven and hell fighting, mythical creatures and a fast paced plot that leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait for book 2. Thank you again for letting me be an early reader!

I devoured this book. The conflict between the characters keeps you wondering what will happen next. It is quite fast paced and spicy but it only adds to the story and the conflict and the attraction between the main characters. I’ve read some spicy books in the passport. This one stood out simply because of the fantastic story. I loved the idea of ethereal characters such as Lucifer and the fact that they have Demons and even sirens in the book is something I’ve not read before. I read the book quite quickly because I couldn’t put it down and without giving anything away I love the ending and fingers crossed it will continue.

*ARC*

I found this book a bit challenging to get into from the start. By around 20%, I felt I didn’t yet have a clear sense of many of the characters, aside from Sera, which made it difficult at times to keep track of who was who. With several characters introduced fairly quickly and only light physical descriptions, I sometimes found myself rereading passages to stay oriented.

The plot felt quite fast paced and layered, which unfortunately made it harder for me to fully connect with the story. For that reason, I decided to set this one aside for now.

That said, other readers may really enjoy the complexity and expansive cast. While it wasn’t the right fit for me at this time, I may consider revisiting it in the future.
