As the ruthless CEO of Thornhill Foundation, Silas built an empire on precision and power. Emotions are liabilities. Relationships are distractions. His assistant, Ella Monroe, knows the keep your head down, anticipate his needs, and never—ever—cross the line.

But one late night in his office changes everything.

One touch. One kiss. One moment when control shatters and desire takes over.

Now Silas wants more than her efficiency. He wants her submission. Her trust. Her surrender. And he's willing to break every rule he's ever made to claim her.

Ella should run. She should quit. She should protect her heart before he destroys it.

But Silas Thorne doesn't accept no for an answer.

And when he decides he wants something—or someone—he always gets what he wants.

Arc read from author for honest review.

Rounded up from 3.75*
This was a short quick read for me but was enjoyable enough. Had some lite control aspects to the relationship but honestly not as much as I expected. The spice was nice but not overwhelming. There was a good ratio to the plot. My copy had something weird with the epilogue but other than that the story seemed to be written fine although very straightforward language.

I would definitely recommend and I cannot wait for Marcus' story.

Did I start this book late at night? Yes I did. Did I put it down to go to bed at a reasonable time? No I did not. Do I regret my actions? NEVER!
This story is actually really cute when to finish it and look back. You have a CEO who doesn't understand the word no and his employee who becomes his obsession. His goal becomes to possess her. Our FMC is a strong, calculating, independent women. The chemistry between these two is great. Even though the relationship starts out pretty toxic but we get our HEA in the end. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

I was leary of the age gap and then the millionaire/boss troupe piled on. Then he failed to explain the dynamic he wanted. You can’t consent to something you don’t understand. I kept reading though and when he moved her in and she got up during the night and was looking around his office, he got upset because she picked up a FRAMED photo and looked at it. Dude, it was on display, even if face down. This is supposed to be her home but she can’t look at a framed photo in your office. Over it. Should have DNF’d it sooner.
