Nasir Block Thornton has wanted to be like his father his entire life. Tech was the coolest person on the planet in his son's eyes. Shortly after Block began chasing his dope boy dreams, Tech was sentenced to fifteen years in prison. Despite not having any desire to give up his hustling ways, Block doesn't want the same for his brothers. Brazil and Lethal grow up to be athletes, but the much younger Mario is too much like Block and Tech for their liking. Keeping an eye out for his brothers and being everything to everybody has Block chasing something money can't buy. Peace. To his surprise, he finds just that in a feisty doctor by the name of Symphony. One chance encounter leads to another then another and before he knows it, Block's interest is piqued. The more he gets to know Symphony the more he wants her. But the more he wants her, he realizes he might not be what she needs. Would it be selfish to disturb her peace in an effort to to have his own?

just gone ahead and read this book

Whenever I’m in a reading slump this lady gone appear out of nowhere with a great read. This was a set of brothers waiting on their Dad to get out of jail. Everybody got their own story. I can actually see this being a book going past 3 books but she said it stops at two. It also talk about addiction. It also talks about their cousin that has his own story to tell. Left on a cliffhanger but it wasn’t a bad one that made you pissed at the author.

Part 2?

Symphony and Block really deserved the love they found, and I'm so glad they finally found some peace in each other because they had a lot going on family-wise that was draining the life out of both of them. It was good to see Blak get his act together, and I'm intrigued about the daddy's story and can't wait for that.

Love this family

This was a great read! Block and Blak got out the game after getting women they didn’t expect to settle down with. Mario and Mason were young boys living and learning daily. I was thinking Brazil would get with Giavanna. I hope she becomes cancer free and they do. They can raise babygirl together. Averi was so strong… her baby is too. I feel for Symphony… she was surrounded by heartbreak. I love that Blak hit up Block to let him know to check up on her. She didn’t want him, but needed him during her time of bereavement. I want Symphony to give Block a baby too lol. I know they are taking it slow, but everyone else having babies. I need to know who Lethal knocked up. Tech gave all them boys a huge surprise! Came home just in time. Ready for Tech, Lethal and Brazil’s story!

I really enjoyed this new series and I look forward to reading more about Tech, Lethal, and Brazil. The book ended on a cliffhanger but it wasn’t a big cliffhanger more like a small to be continued. Block and Symphony’s first encounter wasn’t a pleasant one but the next one in a professional setting went well to the point that Block sent Symphony flowers. Symphony had so much going on. Her sister Monique was a drug addict so she had shared custody of her nephew Mason and her mom is a gambling addict. I didn’t blame Symphony for ending her relationship with Block when she found pills in his pocket knowing he was headed to being an addict as well. Monique overdosing was á wake up call for Block to get his self together. I like that he was there for Symphony giving her loving care that she really needed and deserved. I was glad when Blak and Averi got it together and I can’t wait to see what they’re having. I hope Blak can get out of the jam that James snitching got him in. I can’t wait to find out if Lethal actually has a baby on the way and possibly with who. I like how Brazil a good dad to Unique and I hope Giavanna beat cancer because I think her and Brazil might end up together. I do think Symphony’s friend Capricorn husband is cheating on her and I don’t blame her for wanting a divorce. I hope now that Tech is out that he will move Mario in with him because he needs fatherly guidance.

Multiple storylines

Let me start off by saying the book was good. However, there were a lot of moving parts. Meaning there were multiple story lines that I had to keep up with. On one end, we had Symphony and her family storyline. On the other hand, we had Block and his 4 brothers' story.
I would have loved to get Symphony and Block story as one book and Brazil story in a different book.
Symphonys' story was a lot she had trauma, responsibilities that's shouldn't have been placed on her, and things that she kept inside. On multiple occasions throughout this book, I felt as though she should have set her mother and sister straight, but she held it in. I loved her relationship with her nephew because he has been through and seen a lot during his 13 years of life.
Block had a lot of responsibilities as a YN. As the older brother stepping up as the provider when his daddy was incarcerated. He really didn't get a chance to experience life without the pressure of being a father to his siblings. Then, he gets pneumonia and gets addicted to pills, knowing that Symphony disdain for drug users. I'm glad he was able to shake that bad habit because he was reckless while using, and I think little Miss Miami may pop up pregnant in book 2.
I'm looking forward to book 2. I'm curious to know what type of time the daddy is on since he is home.

Nice read!

It was a nice read but some things weren’t making sense towards the end with Averi. For example, she was in Miami with Blak for Lethals fight with the family, but was meeting them for the first time at Tasha’s house afterwards? Then later it said he took her to her place for her to go to bed .. then she woke up at his house a few hours later? Maybe he picked her up and brought her to his house but I felt like a lot of the small details were missing with the interactions between the characters.

Also .. no way SWAT is busting in, cuffing me and I’m pregnant, cuffing my man, and then hauling him off and I grab a snack and water and go to bed 😂. Whether she was worried or not, that’s traumatic and she just went to bed? Idk lol.

Absolutely Amazing Read

Symphony has gone through so much with her mom and sister. She deserves whatever peace she finds. Block has been the father for his brothers for so long that he deserves whatever break he can get. Meeting Symphony and getting acquainted with her gave him everything he needed. They became each others peace. Averi had gone through way too much dealing with Blak, but you can't help who you love. Mario and Mason were receiving everything but what they truly wanted. Brazil has become a different man since he's a father. Lethal is just living life. Block and Blak are doing what nobody expected of them. Can't wait to read the next book!

Nice

This book was something else. Block, Blak, Lethal, Brazil, and Mario were all with the mess at one point. Block, being the oldest and level-headed brother steered the ship for the most part in their father/ uncle’s absence. Tech, sitting behind bars for years still had motion. Averi and Symphony, I think they stood on business about their expectations and in the end, their guys held it down. While everything didn’t play out like I would’ve like, it did turn into a nice little read. I knew the ended wouldn’t resolve everything, but knowing Raynor plans to wrap everything up in the next book I’m patiently waiting. Happy Reading Y’all!💋

⭐️⭐️

It took a while to finish this one. I came very close to DNF-ing it, especially after skipping ahead and realizing it would end in a cliffhanger.

Nevertheless I finished it and didn’t really enjoy it. Too many things were happening and the pacing was a little inconsistent. I was never sure of the timeline- was this happening within days, weeks, or months?

And with the authors note that book 2 will focus on Tech, Lethal, and Brazil. So was that the ending for the two main couples? 🫠

Another hit!

This well written book flowed well and kept my attention. Symphony had to deal with a lot of disappointments in her life, starting with the death of her father and then the addictions of her sister and mom. Not only that, she fell hard for Nasir (Block) who was dealing and using drugs. As a doctor, she really had conflicted feelings. I love the way that Ms. Raynor brought the family together and showed their love for each other. Can’t wait for the next book and I definitely recommend reading this book.

I went in thinking I was about to get straight pew pew love and didn’t get that at all. What we got instead was a MMC hooked on pills and syrup plus multiple POVs that didn’t get enough development for me. I wanted more depth from the characters and more focus in the story.

That said, it wasn’t bad. It was an ok read with promise. The idea is there. I do want to see where the follow up goes to see if these pieces get tightened up.

Family

Providing our children unconditional love is a privilege. Modeling the value of family, respect and trust allows for strength that can help each person individually and collectively grow.

Raynor provides a message of self worth and care. We can’t be everything to everyone if we neglect ourselves.

Great Character Development

I enjoyed this book for more than the sex scenes. The writing was actually great.Yes, the men sold drugs but that wasn’t who they were. Having multidimensional character development made for the type of story that is a page turner. Looking forward to part two.

Drama 😂👀

The brothers had drama up the wall lol. However, in the end, Block and Blak got their women and decided to make moves to bow out of the game. Monique's death saddened me, but she didn't want better. I'm intrigued to read Lethal, Tech & Brazil’s story so that I might spin the block on that book.

I need more!

This was a good first book.

I can’t wait to see what’s to come now that Mario has given his approval.

Will Black beat the charge?

It’s going to be interesting to see how things unfold now that Tech has been released.

The Guys Are The Guys

Blak acted like the typical man not seeing love for what it was
Block was making sure his brothers were ok over his own happiness. So glad he found Symphony. She struggled also.
Can’t wait for the next book! This was great!

I really dont like the multiple POVs....

It's too much and I really only cared about what Block and Symphony had going on. I also didn't really like the ending, it just ended.
