Coast to Coast #5

Coastal Attraction

Rate this book
Sometimes attraction is so strong, it threatens to burn you alive.

Rori Madison lived her life to make others happy. She dedicated herself to medicine and was happy living in solitude, until one day she found herself homeless and in desperate need of saving. With no where to turn, she moves in with her coworkers friend from college. It all seemed to good to be true...which meant it was. Turns out, the kind stranger who was offering her a room was the single man she’d been attracted to since she moved to Los Angeles. The man who was determined to learn all of her secrets so he could fix the darkness in her eyes.

Aiden Kelly was the quiet one of the family. He was the one who always showed up for people and refused anything in return. When he got frustrated, he escaped to his workshop and turned his anger into beautiful furniture. At this point, he’d accepted that his siblings would find their love stories and he’d always be a side character... until Rori Madison blew into his life like the shiny, colorful tornado that she was.

The two decide to put their feelings aside to enter a friendship they both desperately need. But, adjusting to life side by side was something neither of them expected.

Attraction heats up, boundaries get tested, and two loners learn that maybe life is a little easier when you have someone else to lean on.

This series continues to just be a warm hug.

These Kelly siblings are the Brady bunch as much as they disagree 🤣

This book had a little Greys Anatomy coding too it
The O’Malley part 🤣😭😭

Aiden & Rori 💕
He’s builds furniture
She’s a doctor
Roommates to lovers
Sibling banter & group chats
Slow burn
Love at first sight

Malibu setting
But she’s from Texas

Roris past dealt with a very sensitive topic.
And I think it was done well and respectively.

Aiden’s our little recluse boy.
And that’s a favorite MMC trait of mine

How is there only one more sibling!

Kathryn Coin did it again! I’m convinced she puts something addictive in her books because once I start, I just can’t stop reading.

The Kellys are my favorite fictional family. They feel real and relatable - and they’re so funny, chaotic, lovable, and supportive. Every time I return to this world, it feels like coming home.

This book was another masterpiece. It touches on some heavier topics, but they were handled with so much care and depth. The emotional moments truly hit.
Aiden was everything - protective, patient, soft in the best way. The way he cared for Rori had my whole heart. 🥹
And Rori? A total badass queen with a huge heart and a powerful story of her own.

I’ve been taking my time with this review to make sure it’s perfect but at this point I just need to write it 😂

To say I love Kathryn Coins books is an understatement. I wait and wait for the next one to come and devour it immediately. I fall more in love with each character and with each story ♥️Will this ever stop? God I hope not.

Coastal Attraction had me feeling every type of way. The Kelly family is genuinely my favorite fictional family and I truly love reading about their stories. This book did have some heavier topics and Kathryn did such a beautiful job writing them.

Don’t let the sad moments fool you though! There is so much joy in this book as well!

First of all, i want to thank Kathryn Coin for once again choosing me to read this book in advance! I have been dying to read Aiden’s book 🤭 The moment I found out he was going to be the main character of the next book in the Coast to Coast Series, I was at the edge of my seat! I am abosutely in love with the Kelly family and I have been reading this series ever since I fell in love with Nolan and Maggie’s relationship! Since then, I have always loved going back to the Malibu House and see its magic take its course and help the next Kelly sibling realize who the love of their life is ❤️

This is the story of Aiden, who is essentially the middle child of his large group of siblings. Owen and Ryleigh, a pair of twins, with Ryleigh being the oldest, Aiden, Nolan and Keegan (another set of twins) and the youngest, Maeve. Aiden has always felt like he was left alone, although close to all of his siblings, but feeling like he didn’t have someone to rely on like Owen and Nolan both have. Ever since their mother passed away, Aiden has taken up creating furniture to channel all his emotions in woodworking. At the same time, all of his siblings have found the love of their life, and then there’s Aiden, who is nowhere near close to finding somebody.

One night, his close friend Henry invites him out to a bar after a shift at the hospital. Aiden is reluctant but ends up going, and upon arrival, sits by the bar. However, a woman with red hair has captured his attention and ends up dancing with her, never wanting to let her go. Until their moment gets interrupted by some friends needing her help, whisking her away. Aiden didn’t know when he would see her again, but he never expected that when Henry asked for a favor to let his best friend crash with Aiden, that she would be there, front and center 🙂‍↕️

Rori has always known one way of life ever since she moved from Texas and matched at LA Children’s Hospital to complete her residency there. Eat, sleep and go to work, and repeat, never having time to date. She has time to go out with Henry, her best friend, alongside her other friends from the hospital but that’s it. One night, she is out with everyone, including Henry, when she spots a handsome man by the bar. She beckons him to dance with her and they share a magical moment together. Until it gets interrupted when her friend Dahlia is throwing up in the bathroom and Callie needs her help. Since then, she didn’t think she would ever see him again until her apartment floods and she needs a place to crash. Henry mentions one of his close friends has enough room in his house and when she arrives at the house, she didn’t think she would see him again.

This is the story of two people who have let their past trauma define themselves and just stick to what they know. Both have baggage that they don’t want to share with other people because they are afraid to be vulnerable, afraid that the other person will leave. Little by little, by living together for three months, things start to change. Without spoiling it too much, I loved reading both Rori’s and Aiden’s journey at finding love. At finding themselves once again and letting themselves be vulnerable with their families and with each other. The way I cheered for these two to realize that they are meant to be with each other, made me feel like I was one of the Kelly siblings rooting for them 🙂‍↕️🤭 I truly love coming back to the Kelly family and seeing what each one is up to like a family reunion or family dinners on Sunday like they always have. I cannot wait to read Ryleigh’s story next 🥹 I cannot believe that that is the last sibling in the series, Im not ready to let go 🥹❤️

Okay, I know that the Kelly siblings would disagree, but it's so obvious that they are The Brady Bunch. I just love this family. And there's always a feeling of a warm hug and delight whenever I spend time with them. The bond between the Kelly siblings serves as the emotional heart of this series. And with Rori, being welcomed into Aiden's life and family, it gets even more special.

Coastal Attraction is the fifth book in the Coast to Coast Series that explores the themes of love, trauma, self-discovery, sense of belonging, and healing.
It follows the story of Aurora "Rori" Madison, a resident doctor at a children's hospital, and Aiden Kelly, one of the Kelly siblings who owns his own woodwork business, as they embark on a journey to find love despite carrying heavy baggage.

Kathryn has written a story about overcoming struggles, realizing your worth, and taking back control in a society that consistently undervalues you.
Rori's backstory has been written with dexterity and grace, and her determination to take charge of her life, identity, and goals is respected. Despite having a loving and supportive family, Aiden finds it difficult to fit in at the Kelly household, even though his family is caring and supportive. Leaving himself isolated most of the time. But all it takes is to open up and share his vulnerabilities, and everything is right again in the family. Phew!

These two characters fit together like two pieces of a puzzle that have been broken. Their developing relationship suggests that not only is there room for profound healing, but that it also necessitates confronting past trauma and creating new, healthy attachments. Rori brightens Aiden's life with the companionship he seeks, and Aiden reciprocates by giving her devoted patience, security, family, and a home.
Since the beginning, there has been an ember of their chemistry, which has grown hotter as the plot progresses and they spend more time together.

Balancing emotional weight with moments of warmth and humor, Coastal Attraction explores themes of sense of self, the unbreakable bond of family, and emotional rebirth.
If you love the found family trope, then this book and the entire series are a must-read. However, prepare yourselves for the "Four Laps". You'll figure out what this means when you read the books.

Receiving a complimentary Advanced Reader Copy (ARC) of this book was an honour, and I'm presenting my candid opinion based on my own experience. I am eternally grateful to Kathryn Coin for entrusting me with reading this book beforehand.

My absolute favorite one!!

Thank you so much to Kathryn for the ARC opportunity!!

Y'all I love this series so much! I love getting to dive into the Kelly world and just feel all the fun moments, the love, the pain and everything in between. Aiden and Rori mean so much to me and I cannot express how I related to Aiden.. The tension between these two was love at first sight and it's fun and nerve racking to see them be roommates and friends to lovers. Rori is a resident doctor at a children's hospital and Aiden his wood-work business. Living together and finding a balance in their busy schedule and they make it work. Rori having to move away from her home state to live her life after something tragic happened to her and she finds herself living with Aiden. Aiden feeling lonely, always working and even though the quality time with the siblings is there, it didn't feel as if he belonged. Both of them being broken puzzle pieces and finding each other felt wholesome and how protective Aiden is with Rori! Her being in denial that it wasn't something she thought she deserved but in the end....end game!!!

AND let me not forget about the Kelly siblings and their partners because I LOVE the heck out of them!! It always feels wholesome to see these characters and laugh and feel within the circle!! Of course, these books can be read as a standalone but its more fun to be read in order!!

I felt so connected to this book-I cried and laughed so much!! I don't usually cry EVER when reading but this one just holds a special place with me.

If you're someone who's looking for a found Family book series, let me tell you that you will love this series! The Kelly's are a fun bunch and they will have you doing Four Laps soon...unless you don't know about it... You might want to brace yourself for a wild ride!!

"I was proud to be the one who was her safe place to land."

Tropes:
-Roommates to Friends to Lovers
-Forced Proximity
-Doctor FMC
-He's Possessive

Y’all… I love this series so much. Aiden and Rori completely stole my heart.

Their connection is instant, love‑at‑first‑sight tension that only gets more delicious (and stressful!) once they become roommates. Rori is a pediatric resident who’s rebuilding her life after a traumatic experience forces her to move states, and Aiden runs his own woodworking business while quietly battling loneliness and feeling a bit out of place, even within his own big family. They’re two broken puzzle pieces who fit together perfectly, even if Rori can’t believe she deserves someone like him. And when Aiden slips into protector mode? I melted. Completely.
The Kelly siblings are, as always, an absolute highlight. Their banter, support, and chaos add so much heart to every book, and while each story can technically be read as a standalone, reading the series in order makes it so much richer.

This book had me on an emotional rollercoaster. It felt so deeply personal, warm, and comforting in that perfect found‑family way. If that’s your favorite trope, this series is a must, just prepare yourself for “Four Laps” if you know, you know.

Kathryn Coin is so underrated. She nails angst without dragging it out, and the emotional payoff always feels earned. Rori’s unexpected boldness, Aiden’s nurturing patience, the family dynamics, every piece worked.

This book reminded me why I adore this series: a perfect meet‑cute, a swoony caretaking hero, Grey’s Anatomy nods, heavy topics handled with care, and a beautifully written HEA. The Kelly family continues to feel like a warm hug, and I can’t believe there’s only one sibling left. Just reading the epilogue and sneak peek has me on edge.

Thank you to the author for the ARC. I already can’t wait for more.

Tropes- Roommates to Lovers, Friends to Lovers, Slow Burn, He Falls First, Doctor FMC, Denial!, Found Family

I can’t believe this series is almost and we have one more book, I love this chaotic family so bad. These two were just amazing and I couldn’t put the book down cause I just needed them to be together and stop denying their feelings for each other!

Rori is just so amazing and she’s a resident doctor at the Children’s Hospital and important to me, her back story was just so heartbreaking and her freaking dad sucks okay idc. My heart just breaks for her and I’m so glad she finally found Aiden and his siblings she just needed them and I hope one day her sister joins her! I just love Rori so much

Rori and Aiden chemistry was just chef kiss and I couldn’t get enough of them being together they just get each other like no other and after all their denying themselves to the love they share they finally caved in and I was giggling and kicking my feet

Aiden one of the older siblings out of the 6 and kind of always felt like an outsider because everyone is a twin (except my Maeve) plus he’s the quite one in the family and always suffers in silence. I absolutely love Aiden he’s just so me honestly they both are that’s probably why I love them so much

Aiden and Rori is just so meant to be and I love how she just got him hooked on greys anatomy it was so amazing plus him not like Derek in the beginning is so real cause SAME loll. They just go so well together and I’m happy they found each other

After that teaser for the next book I absolutely will be going through it for that book and definitely need to prepare myself but I can’t wait!

Thank You So Much for giving me this incredible arc !💐🖤

💭: I’m just going to say it — Kathryn Coin is one of the most underrated authors I’ve ever read. Coastal Attraction gave me every single thing I love in an elite read. She made me laugh, she made me swoon, she made me cry… and the freaking angst. LAWD, y’all — the ANGST.

It takes a special kind of talent to write angst without it feeling dragged out, and Rori and Aiden delivered while making us beg for more.

I genuinely can’t decide what I loved most about this story. Was it Rori catching me completely off guard the moment she flipped a switch and unleashed that filthy mouth (because WOW, did not see that coming)? Was it Aiden being the most patient soul alive and somehow making the nurturer/caretaker role so freaking sexy? Or was it the family dynamics and the unwavering support they give each other? I truly don’t know — I just loved it all.

These books can absolutely be read as interconnected standalones, but honestly, you’d be doing yourself a disservice. Watching Kat’s writing evolve over the six books I’ve read has been such a joy — and the Kelly family is overflowing with love. Each member brings something different to the table, and while some might call it chaotic, it’s actually perfection.

I’m so grateful to be on this journey with Kat as she brings her ideas to life. Start the Coast to Coast series ASAP. And side note: don’t let the characters’ ages deter you. As a woman in my 40s, I’m not even sure I would’ve appreciated these stories as much in my 20s. They hit every emotion, and I’m so thankful for this ARC.

ARC REVIEW

Absolutely devoured this book
Kathryn literally can do NO WRONG with her books
She puts something magical in them, for every single one

Aiden and Rori’s story are no different
The roommates to lovers aspect? 😍
The forced proximity!? 😍
The love at first sight!? 😍

Aiden Kelly is a MAN OBSESSED
And we all know I love a man obsessed
He is absolutely the quiet, sweet, hard working, hot, brother.
I absolutely loved his character and his development throughout the book.
From him thinking he isn’t important, to retreating to himself and thinking he can’t have a relationship? To meeting the absolute love of his life and FLOURISHING
I’m obsessed with him

Rori, sweet, sweet, independent, badass Rori.
I literally loved her
Her character felt so different compared to all the other girls (I love them all don’t get me wrong)
Rori went through some SHIT (and we hate that for her) but she came out so strong and learned that she is worthy of love and everything good.

Aiden and Rori complimented each other so well
They fit so perfectly
They needed each other
They deserved each other

I absolutely ate this book (and the series so far) up and I cannot WAIT for more from Kathryn.

Omg this series is freaking chefs kiss it draws you in from beginning to end!! I mean read this dedication-

“To the girl with scars who are afraid to love. Same, but we’ll get through it together.”

This book has love, laughter, and moments were you crying your eyes out but oh it’s so worth the emotional roll coaster. Rori is a resident at a children hospital. Aiden is builds furniture both of these two are busy and both of them are lonely will they give each other a chance to find happiness. Aiden’s siblings have all found love but can he get Rori to let him in. He is a broken man can Rori bring him back to the living. Something horrible happens to Rori so she moves away from her friends and family in Texas to have a new start.. She has a great group of friends that love her like family both two have great friends. I loved how protective Aiden is of Rori from the start he is swoon worthy.
The other books in this series follow Aiden siblings finding love and happiness so don’t forget to check them out.

Rori has a chance meeting with Aiden in a bar. When she is need of a place to stay, she is shocked to end up seeing Aiden again. Will they embrace or fight their mutual attraction?

I enjoyed this one! It was so cute. I am all about a caretaking man and Aiden is that to a T. A sexy man making me dinner and then watching my favorite show with me every night? Sign me up. The family in this series is a character all in itself. This is the second to last in the series and I do not want it to end! I have liked all of them-missed one but I plan to read it as soon as possible.

The spice was nice. These two love a workshop. They really tried to fight it, but I love how they gave in. Their banter and both trying so hard to not fall was fun to read. I liked how the author is not afraid to tackle tough topics and handled them with grace.

Overall, it was a great romance with falling for your roommate. Five ✨

gosh do I love this a read. it's so much I read romance for. the perfect meet cute in a bar with a gorgeous red headed former pageant queen turned doctor. their meet was something to remember then she vanishes only to find her the next day to be his roommate. how very convenient her apartment is flooded and her best guy friend fellow Dr knows of a place.
I loved how this book often referenced Grey's anatomy and Dr mc dreamy. when you know you know.
rori x beauty queen has lots of baggage. lots! he's got lots of patience for her. it truly was love at first sight! and I loved it. you can get very invested in these couples you want to watch their progress. and this author wrote it well. she gave you the most adorable characters and their magnificent hea.
I truly appreciate this author's writing and her stories.

MMC/MFC: Aiden and Valerie Aurora “Rori”

Tropes:
* Roommates to more
* ‘Love’ at first sight
* Forced proximity
* He falls first (and hard)
* Touch her and ….
* Protective MMC
* Found family
* Slow burn

Safety:
Mentions of SA, horrible, horrible parents who enable SA, lots of tension, OW/OM drama

Loved the characters - the banter, humour, and how Rori was just accepted by them.
The way furniture was used as a reflection of them… and the descriptions…. so good!

You could feel the love… once you get past the angst with rival love interests, spite dating, and her family issues. I love how protective he was!
It does delve into some pretty serious issues - it was dealt with very respectfully.
I fell in love with them (in fact, all of the characters), and I can see potential spin-offs… I want Olivia’s story, please!

Oooh girl where do I even start 😭😭 I have been lucky enough to get a few of these ARCs from this series and I seriously can’t get enough. I’m a little late on the review as things got busy, but that means GET YOUR COPY NOW!!! Rori and Aiden’s story was so raw… real… and perfect. They had their ups and downs but it couldn’t have ended in a better way. Please be aware this book does have some talks of SA. But it is such a powerful read and I thank Kathryn for giving us this story 🩷

@kathryncoinauthor has quickly become one of my favs and I eat her books up. They feel so cozy, especially with the Kelly family. I can’t wait to read Ryleigh’s story because I can’t get over that cliffhanger lol I can’t waitttt!!!

Ugh! Another great book in this series! I loved the sweet dynamic of Aiden and Rori and boy does it make me want a man who will cook for me like that!! Aiden was always the quiet one in the previous books who clearly was the caretaker, but getting to see his insecurities about not fitting into his own family made me appreciate him even more. I love the Kelly family and I can’t wait to read Ryleighs story next. I am hoping Henry and Olivia get a book though!!! The spin off of all the siblings (Lottie and Rori), are a must!!! I will gobble those up so quickly! Thank you to the author for another fantastic read and arc copy of this book.

This book just makes you feel good with Aiden and Rori. Love their relationship. Love how Kathryn wrote about serious subjects that happen in real life and how the MFC dealt with it and how sometimes how people deal with it in real life too.

I really loved this book! I didn't want to put it down and I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series because I screamed with how Kathryn ended it!

But also, the Grey’s referenced came in at a time when we are all grieving McSteamy, so it made me emotional as well.

I love the Kelly’s, and will always be here for a new story with them featured.

Rori is a BAD A$$. I honestly just Love her.

Aiden is such a golden retriever. Patient and kind and willing to do anything to help Rori.

Thanks again to Kat for allowing me to read this ARC!

The Kelly family are my faves to read about and get lost in their world. Aiden was a big teddy bear with the softest heart and Rori is a firecracker of a FMC!

The book touches on some tough topics - but they were executed so well and handled with so much love and care. I loved Aiden and Rori’s story, the realness of day to day struggles and shift work were done really well and I was so sad to have finished this. I’m not ready for the Kelly’s series to be complete…
