I come home to Redbud Ridge to rebuild a life for my daughter—steady pace, small town, clean slate.
Then I step into my new clinic and see her.
Anna Foster.
The girl I loved, lost, and never stopped resenting.
She’s my employee now.
Off-limits, infuriatingly optimistic, and too good at cracking open the part of me that’s still seventeen and in love with her.
She’s sunshine I shouldn’t reach for.
But I see her with my daughter, with my patients, with every person who walks through our doors… and the walls I built start to fail.
We almost get it right this time.
Almost heal what broke.
Until the truth about our past explodes open.
Now I’m staring at the only woman I’ve ever loved, wondering if choosing her again…
Means risking both of our families.
Enemies & Grumpy is a sweet small-town romantic comedy packed with grumpy/sunshine sparks, second chances, and forced proximity when old heartbreak collides with new beginnings. It’s part of the & Grumpy – Redbud Ridge series featuring clean & wholesome (kisses only!) romances where nosy towns, single parents, and stubborn hearts prove that love deserves a second shot.
I received a ARC copy of this book from the author and even though I wasn’t required to post a review, I loved the book so much I had to offer my honest, voluntary impression I had of it while reading it!
Two people who were in love in high school break up over what they read and see but don’t really forget the other person though life goes on.
Twelve years later the man returns to run a family clinic in his home town and who should be his assistant but the girl who he believes broke his heart. She is totally upset to see him as well but each have a child now and the two have quickly become best friends not knowing the history of their respective parents.
This was a fun romcom with two little matchmakers, and later discovering the guy who broke them up is back in town with his own agenda to cause them more problems. Add to that her ex starts making demands and then the board is seriously considering having the local clinic sourced out to a corporation who doesn’t care about community or patients.
Through the chaos Anna and Zack work to save the clinic even when personal crises threatens them both as well as outside interferences.
You will absolutely love this warm book about second chances with the one who got away and two determined kids who want to be sure they stay together this time as a combined family!
I loved this story and wholeheartedly and enthusiastically recommend it to one and all as a book I know you’ll enjoy as well! Once again it makes it clear that if you hear, see or think you see something you must go to that person and talk to them if you want the truth! Otherwise like Anna and Zack you’ll spend years wondering why things didn’t work out like you’d intended.
This is a wonderful book full of warmth and heart, no spice just a good clean book which stands on its own merits with the story it tells without adding the explicit scenes a lot of books now resort to. If you’re looking for a book like that, you’ll really enjoy this one!
The story of Zach and Anna is one that has been brewing for some years. These two were childhood sweethearts that had a terrible break up as he was ready to commit (promise ring only) at their prom. Now they reunite, he as the doctor in charge of her clinic, her boss, a single dad, and her as the mature single mom who still brings sunshine to the world.
He still feels the pull to her just like years ago, but he is grumpy, controlled, at times cold towards her - you will understand why when you read the book - while she stiil cares, brings smiles and softness to his world. But they now there is so much unsaid between them, that is until they discovered their kids are best friends and are hoping to get them together.
You will love this book!.

This book has 25 Chapters, an Epilogue, and a Bonus Chapter.
The Bonus Chapter is to die for! The entire book is wonderful but that Bonus Chapter is like the cherry on top of a sundae! Or extra marshmallow topping. Or extra hot fudge, caramel…you get the idea.
I have to be honest. I have no idea why Greg felt the way he did. The high school feelings - ok - I guess I can get behind that. But 10+ years later??? It doesn’t really make sense to me and I don’t feel like it was really spelled out. And Mitch - also weird. He just dropped it. Like it never even happened. Also with no reason as to why and his apology was…..weird. Out of character.
I loved the book. The right amount of grumpy. The right amount of sunshine. The right amount of everything.

Funny stuff here amongst the heart strings that got plucked and continue to vibrate. Anna and Zach have a history that is colliding with their present. Life is funny that way. As they work through their new reality, they find that things weren’t as they seemed. Fresh starts are a gift, and these two great people are given a chance at one, but they have to work for it. Lucy and Miles were also great characters and the bonus chapter at the end with their thoughts was priceless. Great small town read.
I gratefully received an ARC copy, but all opinions are my own.
This book was so fantastic!!! Anna and Zach were the best MC'S. They had some major history, the ending of which was super painful. They are brought back together 12 yrs later when Zach becomes the director of the clinic Anna is a PA at. Talk about some awkward moments!! Never fear though, their kids, Lucy and Miles, have a plan to make them a family!!! Those two were so great! I was laughing so hard at their antics! This was a fabulous read with a very satisfying ending! I just loved it so much!!
This was a great small town second-chance romance. High school sweethearts who broke up prom night. It’s now 12 years later and Zach returns (new director at the medical clinic) and is Anna’s boss. Loved that Anna’s son and Zach’s daughter became best friends at school and now wanted play dates and trips to the park as a family. I loved all the kids antics to get their parents together.
Anna is a PA in the local clinic and she, along with everyone else at work, are surprised and disappointedmayed when beloved Dr. Franklin sells his practice to former local, Zach Grant. Dr. Grant has an 8 year old daughter, Lucy. And Anna has an eight year old son, Miles. These two plot to get their parents together. It's a fun read.
I loved this book from the characters and how they were high school sweethearts, to how they meet up again but this time both with kids and high stakes. I haven't read a book yet with the second chance and kids, I really enjoyed this book from the romantic parts to the funny parts. I highly recommend!.

ENEMIES & GRUMPY is a darling book. I loved it! The romance is slow burn beautiful and the kids, Lucy and Miles, are hilarious and wonderful! I reviewed a free Advance Reader Copy of this book with no strings attached.
