HAILEY
I came to Glacier Hollow to escape being everyone’s caretaker. A place where no one needed me to fix their chaos.
Talon Cross was not part of the plan.
He’s intense. Grumpy. Controlling.
When he carries me out of the woods and refuses to let me go, I realize the truth is more dangerous than the storm.
Talon doesn’t just want to rescue me.
He wants to keep me.
And the scariest part?
I don’t think I want him to stop.

Kept by the Ranger is a short romance in the Paramedic Rangers series, a collection of interconnected standalones about rugged first responders who protect their town and break every personal rule along the way. These rangers are trained to brave the wild, save lives, and keep their heads under pressure… until desire gets involved. Each story follows a different intense, protective hero and the woman he can’t resist. Read in two hours or less, in any order, no cliffhangers, and always a guaranteed HEA… even if things get a little dangerous first.
She came to the mountains to disappear. He turned rescue into devotion and silence into command.
Hailey moves to Glacier Hollow to escape a lifetime of being everyone’s caretaker. A quiet ranger station job in a small town seems like the answer. She wants peace, not complications, and definitely not her gruff, watchful boss who seems to notice everything.
Talon lives by discipline and restraint, wrapped tight in a ranger uniform. Hiring Hailey is supposed to be practical, but watching her become essential to the station turns into something he can’t ignore. When she’s suddenly in need of rescue, pretending he’s unaffected stops working.
What starts as tension and restraint shifts into something forbidden and consuming. Command exists only because Hailey chooses to give it. Desire collides with trust, and power becomes a place of safety instead of escape. As Hailey learns to stop carrying everyone else, Talon learns that protection also means listening and opening up.
Family pressure, professional risk, and old wounds close in at once, forcing hard choices about what to let go and what to claim. Love was never part of the plan, but it refuses to stay quiet.
Together, Hailey and Talon move from guarded and overburdened into people who choose vulnerability. Their relationship grows from authority and hidden obsession into something consensual and grounded, where strength comes from trust instead of command.
An ultra steamy, forbidden, boss employee, mountain man park ranger romance with instalove, forced proximity, hidden obsession, rescue, and a possessive protector at its core, exploring restraint and surrender, autonomy and choice, trust and consent, healing from family trauma, identity beyond caretaking, and chosen safety. It’s about choosing yourself, choosing each other, and finding peace where you least expect it.
The Elevator Pitch: A dark, ultra steamy mountain romance where a forbidden workplace connection turns rescue into obsession and restraint into desire. It delivers intense chemistry, a possessive protector, and a power dynamic fueled by consent, trust, and emotional release. Fast paced and emotionally charged, it leans hard into heat, devotion, and the thrill of being deliberately chosen.
Hailey Bilson has always been the responsible one—the fixer, the caretaker, the emotional glue holding a fractured family together. With an alcoholic mother and a sister perpetually mid-meltdown, Hailey spends her life cleaning up other people’s messes… until she finally hits her breaking point. Her escape? Glacier Hollow. About as far from her family drama as she can possibly get. But starting over isn’t exactly peaceful when her boss is Talon Cross. Talon is a gruff, tightly wound paramedic park ranger who communicates mostly in grunts and growls and seems to believe smiling is a punishable offense. He is restraint personified—controlled, disciplined, and always holding himself in check. Hailey is his employee and therefore strictly off-limits. Which begs the question: why does his gaze linger when she’s not looking? Why does he drive by her place just to make sure she got home safely? And why does he always seem to be right behind her on the trails? When Hailey is injured on a hike, the carefully drawn lines between them finally blur and there’s no going back. What I loved most is that Hailey isn’t a passive participant in this story. She knows exactly what she wants and, more importantly, what she needs: to stop being the one in control for once. She’s spent her life carrying everyone else, and now she wants someone else to take the reins. Enter Talon. Dominant, possessive, fiercely protective, and exactly the man who can give her what she’s been missing. Their relationship is equal parts tender and steamy, but what truly elevates this story is how Bridget weaves in the very real weight of toxic family dynamics and something that feels a lot like survivor’s guilt. Hailey’s emotional journey, learning that you can’t save people who refuse to be saved, and that choosing yourself isn’t selfish, is incredibly satisfying. And the best part? Watching Hailey finally step into her own happiness… with Talon more than willing to make sure she never has to carry everything alone again. Or, as Talon would probably insist—to let him take care of her. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Hailey Bilson comes to Glacier Hollow craving freedom—from responsibility, from fixing everyone else’s mess, from always being the strong one. What she doesn’t plan on is Talon Cross: a gruff, watchful park ranger with control issues, sharp instincts, and a gaze that lingers a little too long. From the moment he hires her, the tension is there—quiet, coiled, and waiting to snap.
Talon is the definition of restrained obsession. He tells himself Hailey is just an employee… right up until she gets injured on the trail and he’s the one carrying her out of the wilderness. From that moment on, the lines blur completely. The storm, the forced proximity, and Talon’s barely-contained need turn this into a charged, emotional standoff where control is tested—and willingly surrendered.
What really works here is the balance. The boss/employee dynamic comes with real stakes, making every look and decision feel dangerous in the best way. Hailey isn’t a passive heroine—she’s self-aware, conflicted, and honest about what she wants, even when it scares her. Talon, meanwhile, is dominant, protective, and just unhinged enough to make your pulse spike—especially when he stops pretending he can let her go.
For a quick read, Kept by the Ranger delivers big: high tension, unapologetic spice 🌶️🔥, and a possessive MMC who leans fully into the “touch her and you’re done” energy. The paramedic ranger setting adds urgency without overshadowing the romance, and the payoff is satisfying, steamy, and emotionally grounded.
If you love short, spicy romances with forced proximity, hidden obsession, and a hero who doesn’t just want to save the heroine—but keep her—this one is absolutely worth the trip into the woods.

Kept by the Ranger (Paramedic Rangers) by Bridget Adrienne ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ Standalone * Dual POV * Ranger/Mountain Man * Workplace Romance * Boss x Employee * Forced Proximity * Possessive & Protective MMC * Small Town * Injury * Hide n Seek * Hidden Obsession * 92 pages
I say this often about Bridget, but holy hell can this woman write quick, fast, smutty beauties that are fully fleshed out and under 100 pages, making them absolutely perfect to binge.
This is the second standalone in the Paramedic Rangers series, and none of them need to be read in order. Just pick the ones with your favorite tropes and dive in. For me, tropes don’t even matter, if Bridget’s name is on the cover, you can bet I’ve already read it.
In this one, we get a workplace romance full of longing, angst, and tension. Even though we reach the steamy parts fairly quickly (necessary when you’ve only got 92 pages), the romance still felt incredibly believable and fun, even with a grumpy, grunty ranger MMC.
And let’s not forget THAT scene with the red heart lollipop… so sticky, so delicious.
While this story definitely delivers on the smut, there’s also real heart here. It touches on addiction and the emotional guilt that comes with trying to help someone who doesn’t want help. It reinforces the idea that while you can choose to support someone, you can also choose yourself. Your mental well-being matters too.
Kept by the Ranger: A Boss/Employee Romance by Bridget Adrienne is a compelling romance that blends emotional tension, professional boundaries, and genuine connection.
The boss/employee dynamic is handled thoughtfully, with clear stakes and a slow-burn attraction that feels both intense and believable. The ranger hero is capable, protective, and grounded, while the heroine is strong, professional, and emotionally engaging. Their chemistry builds through shared responsibility, trust, and moments of vulnerability rather than rushed decisions.
What really stood out was the balance between romance and external tension. The paramedic/ranger setting adds urgency and realism, raising the emotional stakes without overshadowing the relationship itself. The pacing is steady, the emotions feel earned, and the payoff is deeply satisfying.
I’d highly recommend this book to readers who enjoy workplace romance, protective heroes, and stories that combine emotional depth with light suspense. A strong, engaging read that kept me invested from start to finish.

Wow. This one really hit different and very close to home.. I connected with Hailey on a personal level that I haven’t with any other FMC. I’m not going to delve too deep into this, but it really shows how these aren’t just stories. It’s not all fiction.. some of these events, while based off fictitious circumstances, are and can be very real, and happen to very real people. Alright, now moving on.. Kept by the Ranger was crafted into a thrilling romance that grips you from the start. Talon and Hailey’s dynamic is thrilling with his intense protectiveness combined with her desire for freedom creates a beautifully layered tension.
I loved how the story balances heart-pounding suspense with sweet, tender moments. This short read packs a powerful punch, leaving you breathless and eager for more. A definite must-read for fans of possessive heroes and strong heroines!
Thank you Bridget for providing me with a copy of Kept by the Ranger! As always, my opinions are my own.
Kept By The Ranger by Bridget Adrienne as a short, spicy, instalove romance is ideal for an afternoon curled up on the sofa. The the storyline was well paced for the short format with main characters Talon, paramedic ranger and boss to Hailey, engaging. Talon was instantly attracted to and soon obsessed with his new employee, office manager Hailey, who had come to town to escape her family and the constant control she had to maintain. Talon's observations and compulsion to follow Hailey allows his protective instincts to kick in and he steps in when she is in danger. Hailey also feels a pull towards her grumpy boss and their chemistry sizzles with her allowing Talon to take control during some spicy and kinky scenes. A relationship develops, she talks, he listens and protects and supports which all contribute towards the eventual satisfying HEA. This quick read had me hooked quickly and turning the pages right through to the end.

Besties… if you love your men grumpy, possess!ve, and one strike away from breaking every rule they swore to follow... Talon Cross is IT.😏
"Kept By The Ranger" gave us forbidden boss x employee tension, forced proximity in the office, and a fast-burn that wasted 🚫time. Talon telling himself Hailey was “just his responsibility”? Sir. Be serious. This man already had it bad and was tracking her like a lovesick storm cloud. And when she gets injured and he carries her out of the woods? Ooooo… grumpy sure does look good on Talon.
Hailey just wanted peace, not a broody ranger deciding she’s his. But the hidden obsess!on, the possess!ve energy, the “I saved you so now you’re mine” vibes? Illegal levels of good.🥵
Bridget’s novellas are always quick, fun, and deliciously smutty. Under an hour to read and 🚫cliffhangers? Add this to your TBR immediately. Pure obsess!on fuel.
My Ratings: ⭐ 4.5/5 ▪︎ 🥵 4/5

“Kept by the Ranger” is engaging from the start. This workplace romance really brings the steam, as well as, friendship, emotions, trust, and the art of learning to balance. The characters are thoughtful and well-developed. Hailey is responsible, determined, and always caring for others. Talon is determined, a little gruff but protective and steady. I love Hailey and Talon. Their bantering and interactions are a push-pull that leads into a relationship in spite they both feel their working relationship is a deterrent to them. Their journey is well-written with a each of them adapting and growing to the happy ever after for each other. “Kept by the Ranger” is part of the Paramedic Rangers series and worth the read.

Kept by the Ranger by Bridget Adrienne was short, spicy, and seriously addictive. This novella wastes no time turning up the heat, and the chemistry between the characters is intense from the start. The ranger MMC is dominant, possessive, and completely unhinged in the best way, while the dynamic between them is charged with tension that leans hard into the spice 🌶️🔥 For such a quick read, the intimacy feels bold and unapologetic, with scenes that are steamy, fast-paced, and exactly what you want from a spicy novella. Bridget Adrienne knows how to deliver maximum heat in minimal pages, and this one absolutely understood the assignment. Perfect if you’re craving something short, dirty, and wildly entertaining.
Took care of everyone. Moved away to take care of herself. Now, he’ll take care of her.
Hailey’s spent her whole life being responsible for everyone else, but she finally gets to let go and feel. Talon’s past left him grasping for control—until her. Now all that intensity has a target.
I’m reading this while the temperature outside matches the icy setting in the book, and while this girl keeps getting… um, I’m over here piling on layers. I need Ranger Talon to come keep me warm with his steamy games.
This was such an enjoyable story. Even with the serious topics woven through, these two find their way to each other and learn how to provide what the other has been missing.
I love these quick stories with plenty of heat, a fast burn, and exciting characters so much that I don’t feel cold even on freezing winter nights.

WOW! This was so hot and also so romantic! If you enjoy reading about a woman who needs to relinquish control and a man who gives her exactly what she needs, then you're in. Don't get me wrong, this is a love story, It's not about Talon domineering her just because he wants to, It's because he loves her and wants to make her happy. The story is a very good mix of romance and spice and Hailey's challenging backstory. I highly recommend this Novella!.

Title: Kept by the Ranger Pages: 93 My favorite quotes: "I probably look exactly like someone who just got thoroughly fucked in a government building." Warnings: addict parent and sibling, codependence (not between main characters) Smut starts: 26%
I know I say that every new Bridget Adrienne novella is my favorite of hers, but this one really is! There was much more of a strict dynamic than the other books had, which was 🥵🥵🥵
Talon is a growly, protective dream, while also being funny and adorable to Hailey. I loved their relationship.
'Talon doesn’t just want to rescue me. He wants to keep me. And the scariest part? I don’t think I want him to stop.
The characters drove the storyline and they were so very appealing and likeable and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and impressive. Thoroughly enjoyed and highly recommend.

I absolutely loved this novella! It was full of great spice, dominance, light stalking, possessiveness, all the good stuff. The plot was so well written on this one too. It wasn’t forced at all. I think it will be relatable for a lot of us who have had to deal with being the parent to a parent and learning to take control of their own lives and live for US. It was perfection.
She has been the go to person in her family always the one to fix things, well she is done. So she moves 7 hours away and gets a job at the ranger station working for a grumpy boss. When she goes on a date he knows that he has to make a move before it is to late.

She handles every family crisis until she can’t. Then she moves to the mountain and a job she likes without family pressure. He’s her boss and off limits, but he can’t keep away. Well crafted story with meaningful relationships, choosing to let go and finding a very happy ever after.
I had a very long night reading this one. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Talon and Hailey’s back and forth. He wears a permanent scowl and she can’t help but push his buttons. Bridget had me hooked from the first word. I can’t wait to see what the rest of this series holds.

Decent workplace romance! I found Talon kinda harsh but that’s his persona. Loved to see Hailey’s growth and how she stood her ground with her family. But the boss x employee trope hit the mark in those smutty scenes.

Whew! Hot and spicy. Giving up control has never been Hailey’s strength but for Talon she does it. Hailey is exactly who Talon didn’t know he needed. Good plot. Good twists. Well written passion and spice. So good.

Talon and Hailey are just the cutest! Strong mountain man, doesn't show anything but Hailey gets him to open up! absolutely love the HEA the strong connection, fast burn! Talon is so harsh but man do i love it!
Grumpy/sunshine, boss/employee, controlling/tired of being the responsible one. This is a relatively short story but packed full of spice and heat as well as some humor. Hailey comes into her own and Talon realizes that he needs her. They both get their HEA.
SOOO GOOD. Hailey has a tough life but she never gives up. She olds her head up high and pushes forward. Talon doesn’t push her to be anyone different. He gives her what she needs. Such a good book. Quick easy read. The boss nickname was over used but it’s not the worst names to be called
I am so in love with these short and spicy books. This one is about Talon and Hailey. Talon is a ranger and her boss. Great story and character building. A great amount of spice too. Love that it is quick and have happy endings.
Talon is quietly obsessed with his new secretary Hailey. With stalker tendencies, he watches her quietly until the moment she hurts herself whilst out hiking. A semi grey MMC who will do whatever it takes to secure a HEA.

Talon seemed like a bastard, but Lily didn't get perturbed by his personality. He dominated her only when he knew she wanted it. She learned to break away from her dysfunctional family and live the life she truly loved.
