She was never supposed to be alone with me. Not like this. Not overnight. And once the car died and the woods closed in, I stopped pretending I wanted distance.
GRAYSON
I hired Mia Morrin to take care of my daughter. That was the rule. That was the line.
She moved into the cabin with too much warmth, too much patience, too much quiet competence. I noticed every small thing and told myself it was nothing. A man notices the woman living in his space. That’s all.
I was wrong.
I'm touch starved in ways I don't admit. I've spent years keeping my hands busy and my wants buried. Watching her move through my home has been a test I keep failing silently.
Then my truck breaks down miles from the cabin. No signal. No backup. My daughter safe with her mother. Just Mia and me and a long night ahead.
I take control because it’s what I do.
But alone with her, I stop fighting the truth.
I take what I have been denying myself.
MIA
I took the nanny job because it was steady.
A remote cabin. One little girl. A boss who barely spoke and never looked at me for too long.
Grayson Frost is closed off in a way I've never seen before. I thought his distance meant disinterest.
I was wrong.
When his truck dies deep in the woods and we're forced to spend the night alone, everything shifts.
He keeps me close. Makes decisions without asking. Touches me like he has been denying himself for far too long.
This was a job. Somewhere along the way, it became a claim.
Single Dad / Nanny Touch-Starved Hero Forced Proximity Possessive, Wounded MMC
Bound by the Ranger is a short romance in the Paramedic Rangers series, a collection of interconnected standalones about rugged first responders who protect their town and break every personal rule along the way. These rangers are trained to brave the wild, save lives, and keep their heads under pressure… until desire gets involved. Each story follows a different intense, protective hero and the woman he can’t resist. Read in two hours or less, in any order, no cliffhangers, and always a guaranteed HEA… even if things get a little dangerous first. 😈
Continuing this deliciously dirty mountain man/ranger series, the heat level has officially climbed into inferno territory—and this time, the kink cuts both ways. Mia takes a job as nanny to broody, boundary-obsessed Grayson Frost, hired to care for his daughter, Indy. Crushed by debt and clinging to the paycheck that’s keeping her afloat, Mia slips into a carefully controlled routine inside Grayson’s secluded home. Professional. Polite. Distant. Exactly how he likes it. Grayson barely acknowledges her existence unless he’s issuing instructions, all cool detachment and rigid rules. But the man’s icy exterior doesn’t fool Mia for long. Because with Indy? He’s softness personified. Gentle. Patient. Devoted. And that quiet tenderness only makes the tension between him and Mia burn hotter. The air practically crackles every time they’re in the same room. And then—surprisingly—it’s Grayson who snaps first. One crack in his iron self-control gives Mia her first glimpse of the dominant force simmering beneath his stoic surface. But make no mistake, Mia is no wide-eyed innocent. He may think he’s in control, but he has no idea he’s just lit the fuse on something explosive. When Grayson tries to retreat back behind his walls, Mia refuses to let him. She pushes. Teases. Challenges. Until his frustration coils tight enough to break. Still, he holds back. Burned by his failed relationship with Indy’s mother, undone by poor communication and emotional distance, Grayson is determined not to make the same mistakes. He convinces himself he’s protecting Mia. Protecting her from his intensity. From his darkness. From himself. But Mia? She knows exactly what she wants. And she is not afraid of the fire. When Grayson’s restraint finally shatters, what’s left is raw, primal, and utterly consuming. Yet Mia meets him there, unflinching, eager, and hiding a few delicious surprises of her own. Their chemistry isn’t one-sided; it’s a full-blown collision. And it’s scorching. If there’s one small frustration, it’s that Grayson’s hot-and-cold routine lingers just a touch too long, especially after the night that changes everything. You’ll want to shake him and shout, “Sir. Get it together.” But when they finally admit that what’s between them runs deeper than pure physical hunger, the payoff is worth the wait. Their connection becomes something healing, grounding, and unexpectedly tender. Fast-paced, wildly steamy, and completely addictive, this installment delivers mountain-man/ranger dominance with heart and enough heat to leave you fanning yourself long after you’ve turned the last page. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
He puts a ring on her finger and a hand on her throat.
Mia takes the nanny job because she needs stability, not temptation. A remote cabin, steady pay, and a little girl who trusts her should be enough. But her boss watches her like he’s holding something back, and the silence between them turns charged fast. She tells herself he doesn’t care. She’s wrong.
Grayson builds his life around control after a rescue goes wrong and leaves him carrying guilt he can’t outrun. He keeps his hands busy and his emotions locked down, especially around the woman living under his roof. When a broken truck strands them miles from home with no signal, restraint snaps. Tension turns into dominance, and what should’ve been a mistake becomes impossible to ignore.
Their connection isn’t soft. It’s possessive, intense, and rooted in power and degradation they both choose. He tries to push her away to protect them both. She refuses to be treated like something fragile. When money, control, and vulnerability collide, they have to decide if this is obsession or something real.
Mia grows from a survival driven woman who equates safety with self reliance into someone who lets herself want more. Grayson shifts from emotionally repressed and ruled by guilt to a man willing to risk love instead of hiding behind control. Their dynamic evolves from volatile tension into a negotiated power exchange where dominance becomes trust and possession becomes partnership.
A dark, ultra steamy single dad nanny romance built on forced proximity and kink driven intensity that never forgets consent. It digs into trauma, financial imbalance, and the need to be chosen. It’s about a touch starved ranger and a guarded woman learning that forever only works when both people claim it.
The Elevator Pitch: A guarded young nanny takes a job in a remote mountain cabin and finds herself drawn to the emotionally locked down ranger who hired her. When forced proximity strips away restraint, control turns into a charged power struggle that exposes both their deepest fears and hungers. What begins as a dangerous attraction becomes a battle over who gets to claim whom, and whether possession can ever mean partnership.
Some romances are loud — dramatic declarations, sweeping gestures, chaos and fireworks. Bound by the Ranger by Bridget Adrienne is the opposite… and that’s exactly why it works so well.
Grayson Frost isn’t a talker. He’s a routine-keeper, a protector, a man who’s built his life around responsibility and distance. Hiring Mia to care for his daughter was supposed to be simple: structure, boundaries, professionalism. But Mia doesn’t just exist in his home — she softens it. And slowly, quietly, she softens him.
Mia takes the job for stability. She needs the income, the security, and she refuses to risk it by misreading the quiet ranger she works for. Yet the longer she lives in his space — seeing how gently he loves his daughter, how carefully he keeps himself guarded — the harder it becomes to ignore the connection neither of them wants to acknowledge.
Then the truck breaks down miles from the cabin. No signal. No distractions. No excuses.
And everything they’ve both been pretending not to feel becomes impossible to avoid.
What makes this story stand out is the emotional tension. Grayson isn’t just possessive — he’s touch-starved, restrained, and deeply careful until the moment he stops holding back. Mia isn’t reckless — she understands the stakes, which makes every step closer feel heavier and more meaningful. The forced proximity doesn’t create the connection… it exposes the one already there.
The dynamic between them is intense but rooted in trust. Their push-and-pull isn’t about drama — it’s about two people realizing safety can exist alongside desire, and that vulnerability is sometimes the bravest choice.
Short, immersive, and easy to finish in one sitting, this story delivers exactly what it promises: a protective hero, a capable heroine, and a relationship that feels earned rather than rushed.
Final Verdict: Tender beneath the heat, grounded beneath the tension — a quick read that leaves a surprisingly lasting impression. Perfect for readers who love quiet men, emotional buildup, and the moment walls finally come down.

Bound by the Ranger by Bridget Adrienne is a captivating addition to the Paramedic Rangers series, offering readers a steamy, heartfelt journey that can be enjoyed in a single sitting. This short romance centers on Mia, a dedicated nanny who accepts a job in a remote cabin, and Grayson Frost, a reserved single father whose stoic exterior hides a wealth of emotion. The chemistry between Mia and Grayson is charged, and Adrienne masterfully builds tension through their quiet moments and emotional interactions.
Mia’s warmth and competence shine through, slowly breaking down Grayson’s barriers. What begins as a simple employment arrangement quickly evolves as they are thrust together by circumstance—most notably, when stranded overnight due to a car breakdown. The author skillfully transforms forced proximity into an opportunity for vulnerability and connection, making their ensuing romance both believable and deeply satisfying.
The book excels in delivering beloved romance tropes—single dad, nanny, forced proximity, and a hero who’s protective to his core. Adrienne’s writing is concise yet evocative, making Bound by the Ranger a perfect choice for readers seeking a quick but emotionally rich and very spicy read.
As part of the Paramedic Rangers series, this book works beautifully as a standalone, featuring a rugged first responder hero and a guaranteed happy ending. Readers can expect a fast-paced, engaging romance with a very high amount of heat and heart. With a clear focus on character-driven storytelling, Bound by the Ranger is an escape for anyone who loves protective heroes and quick, scorching love stories. (I highly recommend checking all trigger warnings before reading.).

Tropes: Single Dad / Nanny Touch-Starved Hero Forced Proximity Financial Domination/Kink Play Possessive, Wounded MMC
Bound by the Ranger by Bridget Adrienne ⭐⭐⭐⭐.5 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5 Standalone * Contemporary Romance * Age Gap (17 years) * Forced Proximity * Boss x Employee (Nanny) * Single Father * Small Town * Choking * Possessive MMC * Angst * Touch-Starved Hero * Kink Play 📖 86 pages
This is the third novella released in the "Paramedic Rangers" standalone series, with four more still to come. Bridget continues to impress me with how effortlessly she delivers trope-filled stories that hit exactly when other books just… don’t. These novellas are quick, satisfying, and somehow still emotionally rich.
In this installment, we get a very closed-off MMC who’s a single father to a young daughter. His previous relationship fell apart due to poor communication, something that’s hard to maintain when you shut everyone out. Both he and his daughter thrive on strict routines, which makes the FMC entering their lives even more impactful.
Our FMC, seventeen years younger, is hired as a nanny while trying to dig herself out of crushing debt. His daughter absolutely adores her… and unsurprisingly, so does the Ranger. When sparks start flying, a road trip to retrieve a spare vehicle part turns into intense forced proximity, and once the spice hits, it hits hard. This is rough, fast, and unapologetically dirty, yet still soft or romantic about it.
The emotional push-and-pull of wanting something you know you shouldn’t is constant, and it absolutely yo-yos the entire story. Normally, that kind of back-and-forth isn’t my favorite, but here it worked so well. The tension was delicious, and when morals finally get tossed out the window it's completely worth it.
Ok Besties… if Grayson says “we can’t keep doing this” ONE more time, I’m launching my Kindle into the woods. Ok, not really 😂. The push and pull in "Bound by the Ranger" by Bridget Adrienne is absolutely feral in the best way.
Single dad x nanny... Yes. Forced proximity in an area with no signal... Double yes. Seventeen-year age gap, touch-starved hero, and a man who takes control because it’s the only way he knows how to survive... Say less.😏
Grayson is wounded, possess!ve, and fighting his own desire until that truck dies and it’s just him and Mia in the woods overnight. The tension? Lit. The spice? Illegal levels of good. For a novella, the intensity is wild... Bridget packs obsess!on, heat, and emotion into every page.
These smutty palate cleansers are everything between my darker reads. Add this entire series to your TBR, seriously! 😉

Bound By The Ranger by Bridget Adrienne is a short, spicy, instalove romance and is ideal for an afternoon curled up on the sofa. The the storyline was well paced for the short format with main characters Grayson, paramedic ranger, single dad and boss to Mia, engaging. Grayson was instantly attracted to Mia as he interviewed her for the live-in nanny position required for his daughter and knew this would be trouble but as his daughter and ex-wife liked Mia he couldn't object. Mia was struggling with debt and the live-in position and steady pay check was ideal despite the growing attraction she was feeling towards Grayson. The chemistry between the two is off the charts but with Grayson haunted by his past he blows hot and cold despite their obvious compatibility in the spicy scenes that fulfil a need for each of them. The degradation kink is not a favourite for me but as its fiction it was still steamy and entertaining right through to the HEA.

Mia’s been the perfect nanny to Grayson’s daughter, Indy, for months—steady, trustworthy, essential. Grayson tries to keep it professional, but she’s in his cabin, his routines, impossible to ignore. A single dad. A debt-burdened nanny. Firm boundaries. Then the truck died. This job is Mia’s escape from debt; she won’t risk it. Yet she sees the quiet ranger who loves his kid, stays civil with his ex, and carries hidden weight. When Indy’s away and he asks her to ride along for a truck part, she hesitates… then goes. The truck breaks down. No signal. Just them. Adrienne delivers another fast, steamy, addictive novella that grabs you and doesn’t let go. Book three, and the series keeps getting better. Under two hours to read, but the heat lingers. The online bonus epilogue? Pure fire.

A single dad. A nanny in debt. Clear lines. Then the truck died.
For months, Mia has cared for Grayson’s daughter, Indy. She’s steady, honest, and everything a nanny should be, and no matter how hard he tries to keep things professional, she’s in his cabin, in his routines, and harder to ignore every day.
This job is Mia’s way out of debt, so she won’t risk it, but she can’t help but notice the quiet ranger who adores his daughter, gets along with his ex, and still carries a weight he won’t name. So when Indy’s away and Grayson asks her to ride with him to the next town for a truck part, she hesitates… but goes.
Then the truck breaks down. No signal. Just two people alone.
Yet again, Ms. Adrienne delivers a fast, fun, fiery novella that puts you in a chokehold (😉😉) and doesn’t let go. Book three, and I’m loving this series.
These novellas take under two hours to read, but they linger in the best way. And the online bonus epilogue for this one? Wild. Truly.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I’m leaving this review voluntarily. Thank you to the author and @BookFunnel for this eARC.
That's one way to release frustration, restraint, and pent-up feelings. It would be more interesting and exciting if it were new and different for both protagonists, a new normal, but it's not. He says no control, but there's some kind of control; if there weren't, there could be horrible consequences. They don't take the standard route—slowly, with rules. 3.5⭐️.
To enjoy the series, you need to overlook the barely-there rules, boundaries, and the lack of slow discovery/learning for the first-timer. The protagonists have some level of trauma/emotional problems, which are acknowledged but perhaps need more serious attention.

She is the nanny for his daughter and completely off limits.. he keeps to himself, but why is he so drawn to her and cant keep her out of his mind. His daughter loves her and he doesnt want to mess that up! He is her hot boss that she herself cant get out of her mind ... She has debt and really needs this job. Bound by the Ranger is an electrifying and delightfully dirty read! The chemistry between Grayson and Mia sizzles as they navigate the tension of forced proximity. Grayson’s touch-starved vulnerability paired with Mia’s quiet strength creates an irresistible dynamic. The intimate moments are steamy and genuine, making it impossible to put down. Perfect for anyone craving a quick, intense romance filled with passion and a hint of danger. Highly recommend!
Thank you to Bridget for providing me with a copy of Bound by the Ranger. As always, my opinions are my own.
Bound by the Ranger is all heat, no waiting. The chemistry between her and her boss is instant, intense, and absolutely addictive. Every scene crackles with tension, stolen glances, and the kind of forbidden spark that keeps you turning pages way past bedtime.
He’s protective, commanding, and completely undone by her — and watching them fall fast and hard is delicious. Bridget Adrienne delivers steam, heart, and just the right amount of angst. If you love a boss romance that brings the fire from page one, this is it. 🔥
Bound by the Ranger is single dad, nanny, Forced Proximity short read that really brought the best of all worlds. The dynamics and chemistry between Grayson and Mia are steamy. Their story is well-written and kept me engaged throughout. I especially loved Grayson’s daughters and the interaction between him, his children, and Mia. Ranger Paramedic Grayson hires Mia as a nanny for his daughter simple right
Mia is a child of the system and a worried in debt woman. She lives pay check to pay check and has a large medical bill. Grayson is a closed off broken man who knows he shouldn't touch the nanny. Mia is attracted to Grayson but is confused by his hot and cold actions. His daughter loves Mia and he finally gives in to their combustible attraction. Not for the faint of heart. Mia gets on board with Grayson's need to dominate and is turned on by his degradation and dirty talk.
Bridget never fails to impress, and her new book Bound by the Ranger is no exception. This latest story follows Mia and Grayson, a single dad and his nanny, who find themselves drawn to each other despite their initial reservations. As they work through their emotional baggage, they realize that their connection is more than just physical - it's a deep emotional bond that brings them both healing and happiness. With its short, fast-paced chapters and steamy romance, this book is a must-read!
✨I was lucky to receive an ARC, this book is out tomorrow, FEBRUARY 12th!✨
Title: Bound by the Ranger Pages: 87 Highlights: breathplay, blackmail, degradation, hair pulling Smut starts: 19%
We got a new (to me) kink from Bridget Adrienne! She's the nanny and he's a single dad and they both get off on him (consensually!) financially controlling her. This one felt especially fast, I think because he falls first. It's a great little nugget to read as an afternoon pick-me-up!
Bound by the Ranger is the 3rd story in this series and it packs a punch! Mia finds herself nannying for Grayson, in the hopes it will help pay off her medical debt. Both find themselves fighting HARD, for and against their feelings but ultimately a HEA is earned.
TW - this is heavier with degradation than you normally see in this series. Shocked me a little but ultimately it's their kink 🤷🏽♀️.

This was such a great novella. The single dad/nanny plot is always a win. It’s full of spice, the plot was well written. For this novella, I’d definitely say check your triggers. It is a bit heavy on the degradation, so if that bothers you, keep that in mind! For me, I wish there was more depth for the FMC, but other than that, fantastic!
Grayson is a wounded, hyper‑controlled ranger who’s spent years keeping his wants buried. He hires Mia to care for his daughter but finds it hard to fight the attraction he has for her. When a broken‑down truck leaves them stranded overnight alone. Their feelings become too hard to ignore. Will they find they have a future ahead of them?
Another spicy short story!!! This one is about a ranger and his nanny for his daughter. Check your trigger warnings before reading. Definitely one for kinks and degradation. Of course a happy ever after ending.
Wow. BDSM spice that’s hot from the start. Good characters and storyline. Grayson and Mia are a match made for each other. They just need to get out do their own way. Intense and hot.

Grayson hires Mia as his daughter's nanny even though he knows he shouldn't, due to his attraction to her. He does his best to keep his distance because his daughter adores Mia and even his ex-wife approves of her. But some attractions just can't be denied. This is a hot and spicy quick read.
