Curse of Bedlam

Rate this book
All of Bedlam has whispered about why Royal Guardsman Bellamy Nightblade never claimed his High Queen.

After five long years of silence, Bellamy’s time has run out. Now, he and Lana must face an impossible let him die, or attempt the Ritual of Vowkeir—an ancient rite so lethal it is almost certain death for them both.

Stripped of their magic and separated from Lana’s other mates, they must survive four grueling trials. The ritual first lulls them into a false peace, then tests their physical limits, and finally traps them in an alternate life that feels more real than their own. In the end, they must face a hunger so intense it could turn their bond into an execution.

If they fail, they die.

But the trials are only part of the nightmare. A secret five thousand years in the making is unraveling, and the truth behind Oz’s vampire curse is finally coming to light. Lana will do anything to save him, but the cost of his freedom may be the souls of two other men she loves.

Curse of Bedlam is the final installment in the Bedlam Moon Series. While it chronologically follows Moonfire Academy (part of the Fae Academia series featuring Lana’s children), each series can be read independently.

A cousin to Billie Eilish (though she's never met her in person), blood descendant of Wild Bill Hickok, and a long line of artists and creators, Kathy Haan believes the secret to telling a great story is living one. The second youngest, in a massive horde of children between her parents, she did her best to gain attention and kept everyone entertained with jokes and wild stories.

She lives a life of adventure with her hunky husband, three children, and Great Pyrenees in the Midwest United States. While new to fiction, you might’ve seen her work in Forbes, where she’s a regular contributor. Or, in Notoriety Network’s 12x international award-winning documentary, #SHEROproject.

Entertaining

I will admit to being a little confused by the timeline here, mostly because Lana, the FMC, and Bellamy, one of the MMCs met what would be about 5 years ago but somehow there are references to them going to school together when they were younger? Not that this kept me from enjoying the rest of the story.

The trials in / under the mountain were interesting. The spice was there, as it is wont to be when a fae female has 7 mates. It has been fun getting to know these characters, and I'm glad that this installment in the series has given them their HEA after so many challenges.

I’m so glad Bellamy got his story! I just didn’t expect to learn so much more about Oz too!! It was a great twofer! Auguste and Alfie though! 😭 I wish there had been some other way!!

Penn suffered so much guilt! And rightly so! That was a HORRIBLE punishment!! That Trial was crazy!!

With everything so far in the future, I wonder…are there other stories in this universe? Rose’s story? Bennett? Nova? I would definitely be interested in reading those!!!

incredible series!

The whole Bedlam universe is so vivid & the way it ties all of the story lines together is magical. Thank you so much for writing characters that aren’t perfect but still try and for writing the kind of love to aspire to!
