Fallen Ornaments: A Snowed In With The Neighbor Holiday Romance

Rate this book
Some people fall in love. Some people crash into it. Especially the ones who don't believe in Christmas miracles.

Blaire hasn't had a visitor in months. She's been curled on her couch, wrapped in her grandmother's blanket, holding onto things she can't let go. She doesn't need saving. Or company. And she definitely can't handle her gorgeous neighbor knocking on the door.

Jacob fills every waking hour with work so he doesn't have to feel the silence. He wasn't looking for anything—just his aunt's escape-artist cat, who claimed Blaire's house as her new kingdom.

When they're snowed in together for the night, neither expects what happens next.

But some people are so used to shattering, they've forgotten how to let someone help pick up the pieces.

It feels unfinished.

This short story, reads like the beginning of a story, that's cut off and left unfinished. It's a trauma-bond depression funk romance. Each character is relatable and overly realistic. The only levity in the story comes briefly, and from the cats. I think it is a good beginning to a healing romance, but it's impossible to give further feedback on as it is.

A short novella of two broken people finding hope unexpectedly. I really enjoyed the characters and learning them, their histories and their flaws.
I will read more from this author.
