It's hard to stop thinking about someone when you're sleeping in his bed.
Bestselling spy novelist George Knight has an ex-boyfriend's wedding he'd rather avoid, a deadline closing in, and a blank page that's starting to feel personal.
Owen Wilde has a quiet life he loves in small-town Vermont, crafting handmade wooden pieces in his workshop. It would be perfect if his ex's parting words didn't still sting.
Enter Owen's cousin and George's best friend, Zoe, who comes up with the perfect solution to both their a housing swap for the holidays! George gets a quiet cabin. Owen gets a New York apartment and a vacation he didn’t ask for. (It's very, very hard to say no to Zoe.)
Except George and Owen can't seem to leave each other alone. One email turns into many. Texts pile up. And somewhere between late-night conversations and living in each other's spaces, they each start to feel more seen than they have in a long time, even though they've never actually met.
I Could Write a Book is a slow burn MM romance with witty banter, cozy winter vibes, surprise connection, and a slightly meddling found family. A queer Christmas rom com for fans of feel-good, low angst romance.
Andie Elliott is a huge fan of coffee, chocolate, cute furry things, and, above all, stories. She is a sucker for a good romance and an even bigger sucker for a good rom-com. She has been writing since she was a kid (and still can’t read her own handwriting).

The Holiday is one of my favourite feel good movies. So this was a no brainer for a read.
I was really excited about starting this one.
I liked both the MC's well enough.
Zoe.. well she was to much for my personal taste. Throughout this book I was repeatedly thankful for not having a "Zoe" in my own life. To me, it felt as though she wants to organize everyone's lives but she actually really doesn't have the time to really just think about what would actually be good for them. She gets something in her head and run's with it, really doesn't matter if it's what the person really even likes or needs.
I absolutely LOVED the list George made for Owen! I loved how he actually took the time in thinking of things that based of what little he knows about Owen, he thinks will actually be pleasurable for him. (He did a way better job that Zoe)
I liked the support Owen gave back in return regarding the unfinished "book".
I loved the back and forth between the two MC's and I wanted more of that. For deeper discussions maybe?
I really enjoyed George's neighbours and their dinner invites and bringing food over. This book had SO much potential!
SPOILER-ISH I didn't like the ending. I'm sorry, don't shoot!
I didn't like the way things transpire after Owen shows up on the porch.
After reading the author’s introductory novella, I was eager to read this full length book. It was sweet with heat (just a smidge of spice 3/4 of the way through) slow burn which I anticipated after reading the blurb. Fairly well written but occasionally I had to double check whose perspective I was reading from. Overall, I enjoyed how the relationship evolved but it was a touch slow. I feel like it could be shortened/tightened up without losing much. I read it all, and would definitely read more by this author. I enjoyed the character development, chemistry and banter. But, honestly, I wasn’t completely sucked in, I was a bit impatient for it to conclude.
I loved a lot of this book. The main characters were definitely swoon-worthy. The slow burn/back and forth communication was really a sweet way to build up the story.
I rated this a 4 instead of a 5 star only because, in my very humble opinion, it felt like there was a big chunk missing, rushed or squished together at the end. I wanted to see a bit more development after the characters meet, and....well, y'know, maybe even a declaration or two.
That being said, I'd love to read more about these characters.
Cute book about a home swap of George the famous author and Owen a wood craftsman, all schemed by bff/cousin Zoe. For 90% of the book the boys are never in the same place and have never met in person. So besides exchanging homes, they exchange emails, texts and calls. Getting to know each other without meeting seems to be perfect for them. It was a sweet story, low angst, low spice and perfectly lovely. I enjoyed reading their exchanges and seeing them falling for one another.
This was good! Picture The Holiday movie but the two Leads that switch houses start emailing. That leads to texting and then into phone calls. I’m a sucker for books that use digital communication to build relationships. Seriously, I finished this book in one sitting.
Why not 5 stars? Zoe. Gosh, she was insufferable. I get that she meant well but it was too much.
Oh god I don't know where to begin but I love it so, so much! Both George and Owen are fun and lovely and they genuinely made sense together and those emails and texts? So freaking cuteee I'm melting into the floor as I type. Five stars! Would probably read anything written by this author! 🫶
I loved this book! Very well written, you fall in love with the characters, the town, even appreciate the city. It shows romance in the best way and that it can happen to anyone regardless of who or where you are. Definitely a must read!
It’s pretty cute how they fall for each other. The one thing I didn’t like is how everyone made excuses for the obnoxious self absorbed friend. I don’t get why so many authors use this device but I hate it.
This book was a straight balm to my soul. It’s so heart warming, funny, and just all around good! I’ve needed a book pick me up for quite a while and this was perfection. The banter in the emails and texts had me cracking up and really added to the relationship for me.
3.5 ⭐ This MM romance is very The Holiday with Cameron Diaz and Kate Winslet if Cameron and Kate fell in love instead of falling for the brother and friend. They emailed each other after they swapped houses for the holidays. I liked the characters and the story. They pushed each other to be better versions of themselves. They were sweet, and I love how encouraging and supportive they were for each other.
