He's the brooding genius who's made my life hell for two years. So why can't I stop thinking about him?
All I want is to graduate top of my class, land the prestigious Johnston Internship, and prove I belong here. And standing in my way is Devan Morse—silent, intense, and infuriatingly brilliant. He's beaten me on every exam since freshman year, and I've hated him for it.
At least, I thought it was hate.
When we're forced to partner on a thesis project, everything shifts. The way he looks at me. The way he sees me. The way my whole body lights up when he's near. Something's been building between us this whole time, and I'm the only one who didn't know it.
Now we're competing for the same internship. One slot. One winner. The world wants us to be enemies.
But the fire between us? It's not rivalry anymore. And he's done pretending it ever was.
If you're looking for a short, spicy MM omegaverse instalove romance a brooding genius alpha, an ambitious omega in denial, academic rivals to lovers, and the moment everything clicks into place, you're in the right place. No waiting, no slow burn. Just pure, primal claiming with a guaranteed HEA.
Book 3 in the Westbridge Mates series. Can be read alone but books are best enjoyed in order.
not the best in the series but not the worst. devan was a bit of a pushover for an alpha and Sam was a bit bossy for an omega. but i surprisingly liked their relationship.
the way Devan stalked Sam and the way Sam found that hot? super fun. but i skimmed most of the spicy sections.
this is a decent little series but between some underwhelming characters and reused spice, ehhhhh.
This was a heartwarming end to an unhinged series. I mean that in a good way. Book 2 came in so intense and unexpected with the strongest insta-love I’ve ever read. Book 2 rode off of the intensity of book 1 for me, as I read it right after. Book 3 felt as though I was reading it just to read it, the further I got into it. It didn’t hit the same and I’m not sure that there was anything wrong with it - it was just a bit meh. Perhaps I thrived more with a more aggressive enemy to defeat. Maybe I’m in a specific headspace that’s harder to entertain today. Or maybe I’m just not as into the formula after time away.
In any case, it was still a fun read, and the ending was gosh darn adorable. At only 99 pages, I can’t think of a reason for anyone not to read it. Absolutely start with book 1 if you haven’t.
I love this Mate series! My Rival Mate was my favorite. I can really relate to severe social anxiety and longing for someone, who doesn't know you exist. Poor Devan has his heart crushed for two years! I admire his willpower! I love the humor in Lexie Slater's books. Quite often I was literally laughing out loud. I'm not a fan of slow burn, so these books are perfect for me. I just wish there were more of them. Spicy, sweet, wonderful relationships between an amazing set of college friends. I recommend these books. 👌🏼😍
The story was amazing. The characters were so supportive of each other’s dreams without having to compromise their own merits, and that really shows while reading the love scenes were incredible and you could feel the joy. These two characters felt for each other throughout the whole book. I highly recommend this whole series.
Another good book in this series. This is academic rivals against each other. But ohhh is there more under the surface.
I enjoyed reading this couple and the cute flirting they have. I always like when you get to know the brooding, quiet characters more. We get to see that two brains are better than 1.
⭐️⭐️⭐️ What can I say? I loved that Devan was obsessed with Sam for two years and stalked him enough to know his snack ritual and anxiety habits and texture preferences. Something about that will always do it for me. They were cute together for sure
Such a sweet cute series! I adored all the couples and just loved how sweet it was! Definitely recommend if you're looking for a quick read that is super sweet and a little spicy
