This is my review after completing the entire series:
After book one, Emory, I left a review. A five-star review for that book specifically. Then I read book two, Rhodes, and I was conflicted. So, I decided to read book three, Dominic, and book four, Vincent, before doing any more reviews.
I loved book one. Without a doubt, I loved it, and all the characters.
Believe it or not, I had no idea what I was walking into when I started book one. I didn’t read the blurbs for everything. I assumed each book would follow a different couple. It wasn’t until I reached the end of book one that I understood the direction we were headed. I like poly books, I do, but I wasn’t sure how the author was going to handle this scenario, especially when children become involved. There was no way it wouldn’t be messy or confusing. And yet…
I love all the characters. Well, I need to make a note here. Emory’s character shifted quite a bit from book one to book two, and I couldn’t tell if it was the “real” Emory showing himself after the grief has calmed a bit or if the character had been split in two. For the sake of the story, I’m assuming the answer is that his grief impacted his personality in book one, and then in book two he shows more of himself. Either way, book two holds my least favourite version of Emory.
The villains of the story are evil, without redeeming qualities. The darkness in the book, the darkness that surrounds these characters and their actions, is heavy at times. The truth, in the end, is tragic, emphasizing how dangerous pride and the need to control can be, especially in someone without compassion.
I admire Vincent’s character. He chose love above all else. That’s impressive.
Was this the perfect ending? I don’t know, possibly not, but it was a happy one. Was it worth reading? I’m glad that I read this series. It was interesting, and entertaining, and I really did love the characters. I became invested in their welfare.
To recap, I liked this series. I didn’t "capital L" love it, but I loved parts of it, and I enjoyed it, and I’m glad I read it.
In the end, I gave book one 5 stars. Book two was more of a 3-star book for me, but it wasn’t because I didn’t like Rhodes. I liked him, a lot. I also liked Dominic and Vincent, but Vincent, I believe, is my favourite. I’ve given book three 4 stars, and book five, I’ve given 5 stars. And overall, I’m giving the series 4 stars.

I really enjoyed this!!
I didn't think I was going to like it at first, but this author has a way of writing that brings your heart into it. Emory was so honest about his feelings and Vincent was too. Dom and Rhodes were finally at peace with what they were feeling and keeping the family in tact. This was really good!!
