Lula and Brogan finally have access to the spell book of the gods, but all that does is make them a target for a number of gods who want to use them and the book. They end up in New Mexico with some monster hunter allies, trying to figure out how they might wield the book to kill the horrible monster they’ve been hunting for a hundred years. With the help of a powerful wizard and Abbi the moon rabbit, and advice from two gods, they work on not blowing themselves up or causing any harm to those helping them. There was quite a lot of danger for this amazing couple (as usual), who just want to settle down and live their lives. After this story, it looks like they might be closer to that goal than ever. They’re on the way to Ordinary, and I can’t wait for that mash-up, it’s going to be a fantastic read.

I am a little bummed that this book hasn't brought Brogan and Lula Gauge to Ordinary, Oregon. I want them to meet the Reed sisters already!

But it seems that they ARE going there - now more than ever, considering that Brogan and Lula USED the spell book to kill "their" monster, Headwaters. So they now have THREE GODS chasing them: Apep, Mithra, and Atë. They became attention of one lost god, Ryt, whose power now within Brogan.

Although, the Gauges are under "protection" of Cupid and Raven, who also have their own reason for wanting the spell book to be hidden in Oregon. But I need them to get to Oregon faster!

Lovely series

I’m always looking for the next Lula and Brogan book because their world is so fraught with danger but their strength is powered by love.

So much big stuff happened in this one, stuff that seemed to really change things for Lula and Brogan for the better. Finally it seems like things are going their way. It was fun to see who they had at their back as the action went down. Their next step should be all sorts of fun, the road trip alone and then there is the end destination. I think both parties are going to be surprised with the other.

There are not enough stars for this series, this volume, to praise this Author! To be reminded that Love is a powerful Magic with the ability to create wholeness out of chaos! Love that does not consume us, provides meaning and a curative force for Life. Devon, I for one am ecstatic to be in this place and time to share in the narrative of Wayward Souls! Thank you!!!
