Loss lingers softly. Salt heals slowly. Home whispers back.
At fifty-two, Camille Ashwood loses Theo—her fiancé, her future, the love they planned to bring to the islands someday. Heartbroken and unable to stay in Seattle where every corner holds a memory, she does the bravest thing she’s ever done. She moves alone to Friday Harbor, a dream they used to share, to open a little shop. Harbor Glow, where she hand-pours sea salt soaps and candles, becomes her sanctuary, her therapy, her new beginning.
The island welcomes her the way it always does, complete with familiar faces and one quietly kind handyman named Neal… but some memories follow no matter how far you run.
Whispers of Home, the eleventh installment in the Hometown Harbor Series, is love letter to every reader who has picked herself up after loss and kept a shared dream alive. If you cherish stories of second chances, resilient women, and small-town communities that feel like family, Tammy L. Grace delivers another unforgettable story, where healing begins with a single step.

Whispers Of Home is book 11 of the Hometown Harbor series by Tammy L. Grace. I can’t tell you how much I loved this book. I have had a lot going on and have not been able to concentrate enough to read. I thought I had lost my love of reading. When I finished Whispers of Home, I knew I found it again. I couldn’t wait to start another book. Thank you, Tammy L. Grace, for helping me remember why I love to read a good story.
I am always excited to read a new addition to the Hometown Harbor series. I love a good series. Don’t you? A new book is like going home to visit all of your old friends and having a good time catching up. It reminds me of trips home catching up with all my girlfriends from high school. Nothing like some good ole girl time!
The town of Friday Harbor is probably one of a kind. It is a busy town filled with tourists during the summer and when the tourists clear out it is time for the locals to come together again. They help each other out with anything and are there for them if there is a problem they need help working out. What more could you ask for? They give their time and resources to help their group of friends out. The group has grown over the years.
If you know me at all, you know that I love a small town. I love to live in them and small towns are my favorite setting for a good book. The setting is not mandatory, but it makes a big difference in how a book feels. I’m also one who can’t pass up a good love story. Tammy’s stories are clean and still makes you feel all the little tingles of love.
If you’re looking for a good series to get lost in that takes place in a small town with a new love story in every edition, then this book is for you. I’m so happy I remembered that life is so much easier with a good book to get lost in. This series definitely needs to be on your nightstand or the top spot in your tbr. Until next time…Happy Reading!

I waited for this book and am so disappointed. It wasn't written anywhere as well as the others in the series. Almost like someone else had written the book. Seriously, I should have deleted it from my Kindle and moved on.
Whispers of Home is the 11th novel in Tammy Grace’s Hometown Harbor series set in the small cozy town of Friday Harbor, in the San Juan Islands. I am in love with this series, and this new addition does not disappoint! I love the Friday Harbor characters; they are such a close-knit group of amazing people and their furry friends. They are there for each other through all the ups and downs life tends to have.
After the devastating loss of her fiancé Theo, fifty-two-year-old Camille Ashwood is haunted by Theo’s loss and cannot stand another moment living with her self-imposed guilt and memories of what she feels she “should have” done that fateful morning. So, after some soul searching, she decides to throw caution to the wind and sell everything in Seattle and move to Friday Harbor with the dream of opening Harbor Glow. It was a dream she had shared with Theo, him making pottery, and Camille making her hand poured candles (in his pottery), soaps, and sea salt scrubs. It was a dream she thought had been snuffed out along with the life of her beloved Theo.
Camille rents a small shop with a tiny apartment above it. Not exactly her dream home, but perfect for a new beginning. Along the way she meets many amazing residents of Friday Harbor. They immediately jump in and show her what true friendship is all about. One of those new acquaintances is her new handyman Neal, he too has grief in his past. Together they form a friendship and maybe a second chance at happiness for both.
Since I’m not one to give away the story, I will leave it there. I love Tammy Grace’s style of writing, and you can be sure her stories will be heartwarming with lots of furry friends included! I have read every single book in this series and loved each one of them. The Hometown Harbor series always give me the feeling of coming home and catching up with old friends. Her description of the beautiful town makes me wish I could live there myself, but to find and make such wonderful friends is truly the draw for me.
Camille is heartbroken after the sudden death if her fiancee Theo. It was his plan to move to Friday Harbor and open a shop with his pottery and her soaps. After his death, Camille decides to move there and open a soaps and candle shop. But it is so much work that she is getting buried under it all. Fortunately, her new friend Neal has his 16-year-old nephew Caleb coming to stay with him for the summer. Will she be able to make a go of the shop and work through her pain? What happens when more trouble comes to both her and Neal? Read this to find out. And then this is an introduction to a new series set to be published shortly. I can't wait!
The pace is engrossing and the tone is hopeful with a character centered storyline that has no steam. The characters are vibrant and endearing. You get to visit with the previous characters too. Camille is in her early 50s, so that is also nice to see a slightly older heroine. You can read this story on its own, or I recommend reading the series in order. Then get ready for the Stillwater Inn series starting shortly! Enjoy this sweet small town romance where everyone helps everyone else!
This is book 11 in the "Hometown Harbor" series and I never tire of reading these wonderful books of new beginnings and the depth of care and friendship of the group found in them. It really makes me want that kind of community; everlasting friends and ones you can always count on. Camille has suffered loss and the feeling of shattered dreams, just as many who found the community before her. She too finds a new start and acceptance. As she opens a new shop she finds support from a number of people including a handyman who helps her through set backs and trials. You don't want to miss this and other books in the series. This book and the others can certainly be read as stand alones but I bet you won't want to miss any of these great stories!!!
Camille comes to Friday Harbor after losing her fiancé Theo. Their dream was to settle there, so Camille decided to follow through. She rents a small shop with an apartment upstairs. She meets a whole support team of friends and business owners, who help her create her business Harbor Glow. With their help and her new relationship with Dean, she creates a whole line of scrubs, candles and bath bombs to appeal to the local townspeople as well as the summer visitors. Dean’s nephew comes for the summer and makes a great assistant work in the store and creating new products.
Friday Harbor is full of business people who support each other and offer true friendship.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Tammy did it again. Wonderful book, couldn't put it down. Camille goes to Friday Harbor after losing her fiance hoping to start fresh and cope with her grief. She meets the wonderful people and their pups that live there and they show her how she is not alone. This is a great must read series. Looking forward to Tammy's new series. I have no doubt it will be as great as all of her other books.
This is an inspiration to anyone who has gone through life struggles. Camille and Neal are survivors of life’s ups and downs. This story gives hope to anyone who is suffering. Every time I finished a Harbor series book, I think it is the best one and then this one is even better! The way the book draws you in and weaves you into the fabric of this hometown and its caring friends. Camille found the perfect place to start her new beginning!
Tammy L Grace is one of my favorites. Her books are charming stories of close communities and friends. course there are a few unsavory characters that the heroes try to win over from the dark side, just to keep the balance. Once again Tammy has written in our favorite four legged friends to charm us throughout the story. I haven't come across one of her books that I have not enjoyed. This has been a good series and I definitely recommend it.
Camille moves to Friday Harbor after the death of her fiancé. She opens a shop, Harbor Glow, in which she sells candles, soaps and bath salts that she makes. The residents take her under their wings and help her heal, including a handyman named Neal. As with all of the Hometown Harbor stories, the descriptions of the area and the residents make it a place you want to experience for yourself.
This was absolutely a fantastic book. The entire series is so special. The way Tammy wove the characters together was excellent and I just loved Camille and Neal. As always, the residents of Hometown Harbor all chipped in to make this an excellent story. I hope the series continues!
New beginnings for Camille after the sudden tragic death of her husband. She relocates to this island town and what was once their dreams become her reality. Making new friends and cozy island life renews her spirits as she is drawn in and made to feel welcome. A sad story to happy beginnings will leave you smiling at its end.
I loved this return to Friday Harbor and the story of Camille, who in the midst of her grief takes a chance and commits everything she has left to keeping a dream alive. A story of courage and healing.
Heartwarming story and Book 11 in a wonderful series populated with characters you'll love.
I always enjoy Tammy L Graves books. They are warm and comforting in the face of personal upsets and disasters. But this time, I felt like there was too much time spent moping… most especially by Camille. It kind of dragged the book down.
A beautiful story about healing and finding home. Strong characters, strangers become beat friends, and developing deep bonds. This was a fantastic read and worth the wait. I hope you enjoy.
Loved reading this book and the series. All of the characters intertwined and new characters introduced. Great read! Can’t wait for the next book? And the new series.
