To reach his ranch, and the peace he hopes for, Jack must guide his wife, sons, and mother-in-law safely through the most dangerous territory in the United States. The same area in which he has been hunting the worst of the worst outlaws for Federal Judge Bell.

And, once they reach Texas, a wealthy, passing rancher observes Grace’s beauty. What does that mean for Grace, Jack, and the others?

Ride along with the Sage family in this challenging and dangerous journey to a new home. Smell the gun smoke, and feel the effort, the toil, the sweat, and the worry of Jack and Grace as they labor against staggering odds on the quest for their Home Beneath the Star .

I am a retired Southwest Airlines pilot. My wife Paula and I, live with our Chihuahua, Gabe, in Mesa, Arizona in a 55+ Golf Resort even though we don't play golf. It affords my wife a very active lifestyle while I spend my time writing. As a child, I enjoyed going to the Saturday matinee and spending the day watching westerns and daydreaming about the old west. I shared a passion with one of my aunts and read every western I could get my hands on. John Wayne was my favorite actor and Louis L'Amour my favorite writer. I miss those days where the good guys win, they treat the ladies right, have honor and are trustworthy. So, in about 2014, I started writing my own westerns and became quite shocked that people enjoyed them. I am so thankful to those of you who read my books, take the time to write reviews and email me. John Wayne said it best when he said "without you, I wouldn't be here". Please accept my deepest appreciation.

The long way home

Read all of the Jack Sage books. A great series. For everything this character has been thru, it's a good way to wrap up. But I can see maybe some continuing storylines. I'm thinking that the judge and marshalls come up against a prisoner break and Jack is called back . Wouldn't surprise me.

Heading home!

Another good read. The efforts to get on the road to "home" seemed to just chill the,but were well protraded. I could predict the incident of the kidnapping, but it was short. I had a concern in the last scene,i.e., who was going to live in the big house. Was if for Jack and family only?

Always hope for other sequel!

Jack finally made it home, although trouble follows him everywhere. I assume if there's a sequel, trouble will find him at this new home, At least you can always count on the hero surviving. Love this series!
The prisoners of promised trouble in 15 years I guess we'll see?

Another great book from Din Robertson

The last book in the Jack Sage series was excellent. Don Robertson is one of my favorite western writers of all time. His books are exciting and his characters are tough and believable. I highly recommend this one!

Top action

Robertson delivered again! This western adventure didn’t disappoint. A real page turner from first to last. This is the kind of story I’d go to the movies for in my youth.

Not sure if this is the last of the series. If it was it needed an epilogue. Imho. If it wasn't its still 5 stars.

Another great Jack Sage novel

I'm hoping this isn't the last of Jack Sage, even if he gave up his badge. Please keep this storyline alive with more adventures!
