Bakedverse #5

Knotty Easter Egg

Rate this book
Elowen Bloom was born into wealth, raised on legacy, and trained to build empires.
She just never expected to be the one who would burn hers DOWN.

After making the wrong choice -- marrying into a powerful pack with intentions as sharp as their smiles -- Elowen does the unthinkable.

She breaks the bond.

Publicly. Expensively. Irreversibly.

Her parents may have stood by her…But high society didn’t...

Shunned.
Whispered about.
Branded reckless.

So Elowen does what she’s always done best.
She rebuilds.

Trading gala halls for garden soil, she disappears into the quiet charm of Oakridge Hollow, opening a small floral shop and crafting a new life among people who don’t care about her past -- only the beauty she creates now.

Until the threats begin, and suddenly, the life she built isn’t just fragile --
It’s a target.

Her parents draw the line.
If she won’t come home, they’ll bring protection to her.

Three men. Shadows she can’t escape. Stalking problems she absolutely did not plan for.

🌿 Mikhail Soren Volkov — the quiet, commanding head of her security detail… and the man she’s been secretly in love with since she was sixteen. Older. Untouchable. And now looking at her like restraint is a temporary condition.

🖤 Jianyu “Jian” Seo — polished, precise, and impossible to read. He moves through the world like a man who sees ten steps ahead—and the way he watches Elowen suggests she’s already part of his plan.

🐣 Alistair Caelan Rhys — a wickedly charming Scottish socialite who claims protection is just a side hobby between luxury deals and private indulgences… but the way he circles Elowen feels anything but casual.

They’re supposed to keep her safe.
Instead, they make her feel everything she’s been trying to ignore.
Because the danger closing in on her life isn’t the only thing threatening to consume her
-- It’s the way her heart keeps reaching for a bond she swore she’d never risk again.

And with the Oakridge Easter Festival in full bloom -- pastel ribbons, hidden eggs, and whispered wishes tucked into every corner -- Elowen is running out of places to hide.

Because this spring, Elowen isn’t just starting over.
She’s being hunted.
And this time... LOVE might be the most
dangerous risk of all...

Another Amazing Romance in the Omegaverse

I was completely sucked into this one from start to finish. Elowen has been a character I wanted to know her story since I heard her name in a previous story. Her bodyguard has been head over heels for her the entire time even when she was unfortunately with a terrible pack. Good thing her dad created a prenup that protected her and her family and empire if and when they split. Her dad knew it wouldn’t work and that those terrible alphas were only after his empire which is why he wrote the clause he did that Elowen had no clue about. When her bodyguard and his pack come along, I knew they would all be gone in seconds. Elowen being the awesome florist she is and having the pack there she enters into the Easter festivities you have to do as a pack. It got better and better! I can’t wait to read more!!!!!

architecture

About 75% of this book was pretty decent. The remaining percentage was lackluster and honestly, very anti-climactic.

Around 90% mark, I observed many unnecessary punctuation marks which derailed the cadence/flow of the book for me.

Not enough development/background for characters except FMC, and it caused a lot of things to fall flat for me.

Expecting an explosive “finally” moment between Mikhail and Elowen and then not getting it?!

Huge letdown. 🫤

Additionally, I saw the word “architecture” way too much. It became a bit distracting.

Hoping the next books in the series are better.

Definitely going to give them a try.

Enjoyable as Elowyn gets her 14 year crush and her power back simultaneously

Enjoyable twists and I'm glad her father protected and supported her. Is like to know what exactly they did to her former pack as their attitude enraged me. Good amount of snark, some parts were a bit long-winded almost to the point of annoyance but overall good story.

This is an AI book written by an AI “person”. If you look up an author photo, you can see that it isn’t a human. One of the books even has the AI response in it because whoever is inputting them forgot to edit it out.

Overuse of the word “architecture” in the first 40 pages is off-putting.
