Rory Wilson and Celeste Markham are friends. Or that’s what everyone thinks. Their boyfriends are co-captains of the soccer team, they hang out with the same group, and they’re even going to the same college in the fall. The truth is, they've been secretly sabotaging one other since middle school, and the only thing keeping their frenemy-ship from total destruction is that they each know the others’ darkest secret.

When Rory spies her boyfriend hooking up with Celeste, the endgame begins. Now she has plans to finally get Celeste exiled from the friend group so she no longer has to play second-best to the insufferably perfect Celeste. It'll happen at the beach house where the entire group is kicking off the summer with a week of chilling by the pool, partying, and—if Rory plays her cards right—shocking revelations that will turn everyone against Celeste. She has a plan, and it's going to work. No matter what it costs her.

But taking down a frenemy is no easy task, and Rory’s not the only one in the house bent on destruction. Either Celeste is even more devious than Rory realized, or someone else is stealthily playing the circle of friends against one another. As a storm strands them all in the house, tensions rise and the dangers escalate. Rory doesn't know whether she's the target of this secret revenge, or if Celeste is. Will she be the one to end up dead? Or the one left without an alibi?

I’ve Got Plans for You • Roselyn Clarke

One phrase: toxic besties at the beach house 🔪🌊

A friend group. A beach house. A storm. A secret sabotage war that has been going on since middle school.

Say less.

I’ve Got Plans for You sounds like the kind of YA thriller that thrives on messy girls, buried secrets, fake friendships, cheating boyfriends, revenge schemes, and one very claustrophobic house full of people who absolutely should not be trapped together.

Rory and Celeste look like friends from the outside. Their boyfriends are co captains of the soccer team, they share the same social circle, and they are even heading to the same college in the fall.

Cute, right?

Except they have secretly hated and sabotaged each other for years.

The only thing keeping their frenemy situation from completely exploding is that they each know the other’s darkest secret.

Then Rory catches her boyfriend hooking up with Celeste.

And the endgame begins.

At the beach house, Rory plans to finally expose Celeste and get her pushed out of the friend group for good. But taking down a frenemy is never simple, especially when someone else in the house might be playing everyone against each other too.

Then a storm traps them all inside.

Tensions rise. Secrets come out. Danger escalates.

And suddenly Rory has to wonder whether she is the one setting the trap, or the one walking straight into it.

✨ Tropes and vibes:
🌊 beach house thriller
🔪 YA mystery
👀 toxic friend group
💔 cheating boyfriend
😈 frenemies
🕯 dark secrets
⚽ soccer team drama
⛈ trapped by a storm
📣 revenge plan
🧩 sabotage
💅 messy girl drama
🚨 no alibi energy

📚 Read this if you like:
YA thrillers, toxic friendships, beach house settings, revenge plots, friend groups full of secrets, locked room tension, messy summer drama, and books where everyone has a motive.

This sounds twisty, dramatic, petty, dangerous, and exactly like the kind of friend group I would never want to be trapped in.

Since Celeste Markham entered Rory Wilson’s life, they have had a… tumultuous relationship. On the surface, they’re friends. They share the same friend group, their boyfriends are best friends, and they’ll be off to the same college in the fall.

But beneath that veneer, they have been in a heated rivalry from the day they met. A constant two person game of sabotage; and the only thing keeping their frenemy-ship from imploding? They know the other’s deepest, darkest secret. And they have an unspoken agreement not to tell anyone.

But when Rory catches her boyfriend hooking up with Celeste, she’s no longer holding back. It’s time to expose Celeste fully, and maybe (finally) get her exiled from their friend group.

And the stage is perfectly set: they’re all staying at Celeste’s family beach house for a week. A perfect opportunity for Rory to lay the groundwork to ruin Celeste for good.

But Rory isn’t the only one with carefully made plans. Either Celeste is even more devious than Rory knows, or someone else entirely is pitting the group against each other. When a nasty storm leaves them stranded with no power, Rory is left to figure out who’s pulling the strings—and either end up dead, or left to deal with the wreckage.

I absolutely devoured this book. I always love a good frenemy-ship, and I think Clarke did an excellent job carefully crafting the tension between her two leading ladies.

Rory and Celeste were both fleshed out really well, and they were both very different, but also alike enough that it made their rivalry and the ongoing drama really intriguing.

I think Clarke did a great job at ramping up the intensity and the drama as the novel went on; she started off strong, but still had plenty of room to climb until the more pivotal moments. I think the climax didn’t feel as intense as the rest of the events that followed, but it still was good! Just not at the level I wanted it to be.

Overall, I absolutely loved this book and I could not recommend it enough!

Once again, Roselyn Clarke delivers a compelling young adult novel filled with complex characters and a fast-paced, suspenseful plot. To the outside world, Rory and Celeste appear to be best friends who have known each other since grade school. Their boyfriends are co-captains of the same soccer team, and they share the same popular circle of friends—the "It" crowd. In reality, however, these longtime frenemies have spent years secretly collecting each other's darkest secrets and sabotaging one another whenever the opportunity arises. With graduation fast approaching, the group plans one last getaway at a beach house. Just before they leave, Rory catches Celeste kissing her boyfriend. Devastated and furious, Rory immediately hatches a plan to destroy Celeste's reputation and ruin her standing within the group during the trip. But when strange and unsettling events begin unfolding shortly after they arrive, Rory realizes she hasn't even had the chance to set her plan in motion. Is she the only one determined to take down Celeste, or is someone else targeting the entire group?

The plot is engaging, and Roselyn Clarke does an excellent job developing characters that readers will genuinely care about. The cast is diverse enough that most readers will find at least one character they can relate to. The story maintains a steady, suspenseful pace, with each chapter building tension and keeping readers eager to turn the next page. There is truly something for everyone in this novel. Readers can expect plenty of thrills, a touch of romance, complicated love-to-hate characters, meaningful friendships, and enough twists to keep them guessing until the very end. Plot
Rory Wilson and Celeste Markham are seen as close friends, but behind the scenes they’ve been secretly sabotaging each other for years, held together only by mutual secrets. When Rory discovers her boyfriend with Celeste, she decides it’s time to destroy her rival for good during a summer beach house trip with their friend group. But as tensions rise and a storm traps them together, hidden agendas surface, loyalties blur, and Rory realizes someone may be manipulating them all. What starts as a revenge plan turns into a dangerous game where no one is safe and someone might not make it out alive.

Thoughts
This book was absolutely crazy and such a wild ride from start to finish! The tension between Rory and Celeste was intense and I loved how the story really showed the toxicity of their entire “friendship” group. Nobody truly trusted each other, and every interaction felt messy, dramatic, and full of hidden motives.

The twists were genuinely shocking, and every time I thought I knew where the story was going, something else happened. The suspense kept building the entire time, especially once they were trapped together at the beach house.

And that ending?! It completely blew my mind. I was so invested that I didn’t even realize I had reached the last page of the book.

If you love messy friend groups, secrets, betrayals and twisty YA thrillers, this one is definitely worth picking!

I was sent this book by the publisher but all opinions and thoughts stated are my own!

blurb:
Rory and Celeste seem to be friends on the outside, but on the inside they have been sabotaging and destroying each other since middle school and they each have a dark secret to hold over the other's head. When Rory's boyfriend cheats on her with Celeste, she decides enough is enough and she needs to completely destroy Celeste. At a friend's beach house where everyone is ready to have fun chilling by the pool, Rory slowly starts to leak Celeste's secrets. However, when the whole group is stranded in the house Rory realizes she may not be the only one bent on destruction

thoughts:
I don't often read thrillers where the POV is from the person trying to destroy everyone and I really enjoyed this! It was unique and didn't have some of the tropes from thrillers that often get repeated as well as having smart main characters (not ones who run around like headless chickens). I only rated this 4 stars because the ending wasn't quite as satisfying as I wanted. The ending wasn't what I expected, but not in a good way. I still really enjoyed this thriller and will read anything by Roselyn Clarke!

tropes:
backstabbing friends
stranded in a semi-isolated location
side romance
cunning characters
juicy secrets

I thought I've Got Plans For You sounded so good! This book follows Rory and Celeste, who are part of the same high school friend group but are always trying to one-up each other and sabotage each other along the way. This all comes to a head during their post-graduation beach house trip, when Rory decides she will oust Celeste from the group once and for all. Nothing goes as planned, and the plot thickens.

I've Got Plans For You started out strong! It pulled me in right away and had me feeling strong emotions for the narrator. I just wanted to keep reading. Tired of every book these days having multiple POVs, I really appreciated having a single narrator.

However, this excitement did not last. While the book moved at a nice pace and was an enjoyable read at times, it's not a thriller. It's just dramatic. It felt like a juvenile version of Desperate Housewives. The deeper I got, the more childish it felt, and the less I liked or connected with the narrator. I found the ending a bit surprising, but not what I'd call twisty. I kept waiting to be wowed, and I just wasn't! The ending actually left me pretty irritated, since there was a lot left hanging and no closure. It honestly felt like the author just forgot to finish the story.

Ultimately, this book had great potential. It was entertaining and moved well, but it's not a book I'd recommend.

So the premise of this book is really interesting. A group of friends are celebrating their graduation, but two of the friends aren’t really friends. They’re more Frenemies and they are competition and blackmailing of each other has kind of been the things sustaining both of them. But when they get to the house as uncomfortable truths, come to light, some of them on purpose, that’s where the book takes a little bit of a turn for me.

For me, the main characters, internal narrative was really annoying and repetitive to listen to. This book is almost 400 pages wrong and 200 pages of it are this girl going back-and-forth with her brain about what’s happening and whether or not she actually likes the enemy. It’s tiring and not in a way that heightens the suspense of the story.

There are also quite a few characters in this book, but many of them are really undeveloped and the secrets that they’re hiding seem really inconsequential and not worth the Paige space that it took to get them out. I know that they were supposed to be red herrings for what else was happening, but it just didn’t really work.

ARC received in exchange for an honest review.

I’ve Got Plans for You’s cast consists of another high school friend group filled with mostly horrible teenagers and a few who are legitimately insane. Celeste and Rory may be tangled together in their messed-up little mind games, but why has everyone else stuck together for so long?!

Rory and Celeste’s mutual respect and equal commitment to ruining the other almost to the point of social extinction before reeling themselves back in was pretty entertaining, and probably my favorite part. Their temporary truce should have made everybody else grateful for the fact they were too focused on besting each other to turn their villainous scheming elsewhere.

This mystery wasn’t quite as gripping as I’d hoped - some of the side characters, particularly Nathan and Anthony, fell flat, and the big twist was pretty predictable. Still, I always enjoy watching a toxic group of high-schoolers implode in an isolated location, so I had fun.

I just finished an early copy of I've Got Plans for You by Roselyn Clarke and my mind is completely blown. A solid 4.5 stars for this messy, high-tension thriller!

Rory and Celeste have been secretly sabotaging each other since middle school. But during a graduation trip to the Outer Banks, Rory catches Celeste with her boyfriend and uses it as the ultimate blackmail to ruin her. Then a massive storm strands everyone in the beach house, and their petty mind games turn genuinely dangerous.

Rory is such a chaotic, cutthroat main character and I liked every second of her rivalry with Celeste. The banter is so sharp and the setting feels so claustrophobic. If you like thrillers with zero good guys, drama, and twists, pre-order this one for October!

🖤 Tropes & Vibes:
Frenemies to Enemies
Blackmail & Sabotage
Stranded in a Storm
Beach House Setting
Toxic Friend Groups

I’ve Got Plans for You is a lot of fun, a quick read, and does what thrillers do best… thrill! The story follows long time frenemies Rory and Celeste, as they fight for dominance in their friend group post graduation, and on the cusp of college. The friend group goes away for a week at the beach, and I can honestly say it shapes up to be a terrible vacation for all involved (which makes for a great story!)

Throughout the story, its almost impossible to know who to trust, everyone one in this group has secrets, and is not afraid to weaponize them. The twists come fast and frequent, and the final act is a doozy, I was not expecting it at all. The tone is a more YA, given the characters ages, but honestly, I loved it.

This is a great thriller, you won’t be able to put this down. Huge thank you to NetGalley and Sourcebooks Fire for providing an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is genuinely one of the most unpredictable and questionable book (in a good way) I have read so far. The 244 page thriller manages to tuen all the characters to suspects. The character description has been worked extensively to achieve this level of elaborate web of lies and betrayal. Experiencing the frenemyship or whatever that is between Rory and Celeste was completely crazy, wild and felt slighly sinister. Though I enjoyed and completed this book overnight, I was sometimes confused by the sheer amount of manipulation going around the book. Even truth seemed uncertain and I felt like the climax could have been more elaborate than the original.
Overall, if you love a good mystery that is set in an isolated cabin, in the middle of raging storm with power cut, lies, betrayals and danger, this could be your pick. Happy Reading💕

First, thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Fire for this ARC!

Finally a good one again! Seriously, I was starting to doubt my ability in picking a good read lately. But then, I did start this one in the morning, flew through it, and did finish it just now!

What can I say - this friend group was really ONE. BIG. MESS! Like, seriously. There was just so much drama, and whenever you thought it could not get more crazy, it did! Reminded me a little of Mean Girls with Cady and her revenge plan. Although I felt like Rory maybe took some things too personal, and made up problems when there were none. And Celeste? A devil with an angel's face, I would say. Holy moly! A very unhinged YA popcorn thriller I can only very much recommend!

thank you to netgalley and the publisher for providing an ARC

this book was fun, but still left a lot to be desired. i loved celeste as a character individually, and also her messed up dynamic with rory. they were both unhinged and weirdly perfect for each other.

the supporting characters fell flat for me, which was a major issue as the story is supposed to be centred around this friend group. everyone felt underdeveloped, especially the love interest, nathan, who felt like a cardboard perfect, sweet guy with no interests or flaws of his own.

and for a thriller, the twists and turns weren't that good. the ending didn't really leave me feeling much either and was a bit too open-ended for my taste

My gosh. Who needs enemies with friends like these?!

This was toxic, messy, petty and vindictive all while being trapped with people who have their own motives and schemes. I'm so grateful my friend group was never like this growing up. I wouldn't have survived.

This was fast paced yet adrenaline pumping. It's the exact reason I love picking up a YA thriller despite being, well we don't have to talk about age. This was a perfect popcorn thriller and I was so here for the toxic drama and mystery.

Thank you Netgalley for the ARC of this book.
I have to say i had a very hard time getting into this story. Neither Rory nor Celeste are very likeable characters. But also the whole friendgroup is just horrible. And so so toxic.
So at the 60% mark the book got a whole lot better for me. Maybe because i really liked Rory and Celeste working together. Being horrible people together but fun. So that is the reason why it got three stars instead of two. And i really liked the ending. It seemed very on theme for them.

Oh my goodness! The drama! The mess!

If you like messy characters and messy friend groups and characters that are kind of all rather unlikable, you'd like this.

These characters were constantly at each other's throats and threatening to reveal secrets.

I was definitely very entertained!

And this read rather fast. It is YA and I find YA thrillers to read so fast (and they get me so invested so quickly), so I really liked that about this. A thriller should never have me bored.

A nightmare of a friend group (we’ve all been there) but boy did it make for a great book. Definitely thought I had it figured out early on, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. This is really good YA thriller, couldn’t put it down and couldn’t figure everyone out. I didn’t know who to trust and honestly? I still don’t. The world building was great and the beach house setting fit this perfectly. The final act was brilliantly done, zero notes.

The tension in this book was strong. Rory and Celeste were very complex and fleshed out. Their relationship was intense and kept you guessing about what they might do next. Pretty much everyone in the friend group was a good suspect. I did guess the twist towards the end.
I don’t want to spoil, but I was a little disappointed in Rory’s choice at the end.
Overall, it was a quick, easy thriller read and i’d definitely recommend it for anyone looking for an action packed time!

I had to DNF. I couldn’t take it anymore. This groups of “friends” is so toxic, spiteful and lacking ANY real understanding of what friendship actually is. Celeste & Rory’s back and forth was ridiculous and childish. Letting things escalate to a point where lives are in real danger is dumb. These so called friends don’t even like each other! This was painful to read and I just lost interest in finding out who was behind everything.

Okay so I wasn’t a fan of this book. I didn’t like the characters or connect with them. I didn’t care for the side plot of romance at all. The pacing was weird and the whole book felt repetitive. At one point I just found myself skimming because I was so over the book!

I had really high hopes for this book after the first chapter but sadly it didn’t hit the mark for me! I found the rivalry and sudden truce between the two feuding characters a bit unrealistic and the plot felt a bit ‘high school’ until it got incredibly dramatic at the end… A bit chaotic although enjoyable in parts.

What a wild thrill ride from start to finish! Holy cow.

The depth of this toxic friendship was so well-written and one I would most definitely NOT want to be a part of.
