I hope you aren’t tired of me talking about rangers. Some love cowboys, others mafia… (okay, I like both of those too), but some of us REALLY like our rangers. This is Bridget’s newest release in the Paramedic Rangers series and, like the others, it’s a short, fast, and smutty standalone.
While previous books in the Paramedic Rangers series had a bit more of an injury-focused element, this one only briefly mentions his role as a paramedic ranger. That said, this is definitely one of the darker ranger stories in Bridget’s collection so far. It leans heavily into obsession, addiction, unstable family dynamics, and raw, primal need. The heat is plentiful and intense, but it’s not soft or tender. It’s about claiming, chasing, and winning. The angst and possessiveness here were on another level.
Damon and Sarah were high school sweethearts, but their relationship was always built around primal dynamics and CNC. When Sarah returns to town to handle her father’s estate, their unfinished breakup takes center stage. They know each other too well to pretend it was ever truly over, and that’s when the push-and-pull begins.
Neither of them has been able to let go, so they get a second chance… sort of. But this isn’t a cute, sweet reunion. It’s dark, intense, and constantly skirting the edge of dangerous. As with all of Bridget’s stories, we get an HEA, but the road to it is anything but easy.

When Sarah fled Shadow Ridge, she wasn’t just leaving town, she was escaping the suffocating shadow of her alcoholic father and a community that didn’t care what happened behind closed doors. The hardest part was leaving Damon behind. Four years later, her father’s addiction has finally claimed him, and Sarah returns determined to close that painful chapter for good. But Shadow Ridge hasn’t forgotten her. Under the town’s sharp, judgmental stares, Sarah quickly realizes that time hasn’t softened old wounds, especially when she comes face to face with Damon. He never expected to see her again, and the anger simmering beneath his skin is impossible to miss. He never forgave her for running, and he’s determined that this time she’ll face the consequences of the wreckage she left behind. Yet anger isn’t the only thing lingering between them. Beneath the bitterness and hurt is a pull neither of them has ever been able to shake. What follows is a tense, intoxicating dance as they circle each other, both waiting to see who will break first. I absolutely loved the dark, electric energy of their relationship. The addition of primal play as part of their dynamic gave this a deliciously edgy twist that makes their chemistry feel even more raw and consuming. Honestly, this might be the most intense and volatile relationship in the series so far. It’s pure hunter-and-prey tension—and when Damon finally catches Sarah, there’s no doubt he has no intention of ever letting her go again. Bridget seriously turns up the heat with this one.

Possessive Ranger? Say Less
OMG Besties… if you love a dark second-chance romance where the tension is thicker than the forest air in Shadow Ridge, "Taken by the Ranger" by Bridget Adrienne is IT.
Damon is a wee bit unhinged in that “touch her & you’re done” way, and I ate it UP. The man never got over Sarah, and the second she’s back in town? Instinct. Possession. Hunt mode activated. The primal chase vibes? Whew. Hate smex with a former lover? Superior... Elite... Illegal levels of good.😏
And that woods scene?! I had to fan myself because the spice was explosive. Then, when he picked her up… I was NOT expecting what happened next! But look, it’s not just heat... there’s emotional baggage, old wounds, bitter memories, and that messy, magnetic pull between them that never died.
This one felt deeper and more emotional than the others in the Paramedic Rangers series, and I loved that depth. Fast burn, possessive obsession, small-town heat... don’t skip this one. It's less than a 2-hour read... 🚫cliffies... and maximum obsession.😉

Taken By The Ranger by Bridget Adrienne is a short, spicy, dark, second chance romance and is ideal for an afternoon escape.
The the storyline was well paced for the short format with main characters Damon, paramedic ranger, and Sarah, engaging.
In Shadow Ridge Damon and Sarah grew up together and were lovers up until she left the small town for the city. Their connection and relationship was deep and strong but when she left they were both broken hearted.
When the death of her father brings Sarah back to the small town memories, feelings, and instincts can't be denied and their previous primal chase and prey and predator dynamics roar to life.
Damon can't deny his possessive obsession with Sarah and the chemistry between the two is still off the charts regardless of the years apart but the reasons they didn't stay together are still there and need to be addressed if they are going to get their HEA.
This was an entertaining read that had me turning the pages right up to the very end. I look forward to the rest of the series.

Ms. Adrienne has taken her writing to another level here, and I found myself connecting with Sarah’s grief and Damon’s heartbreak.
Four years ago, Sarah left Shadow Ridge searching for a better life, and in the process, she left Damon behind. He’s never stopped loving her, and their shared history binds them in ways neither can outrun. The chase brought them together once, and it might be the only way they find their way back to each other.
Another superb addition to the Paramedic Rangers series.

This is a high steam, heavy passion second chance romance. Be ready to swoon, blush, and smile all at once!
Sarah and Damon were deeply in love in the past, but the small town, her abusive father made her leave it all behind. 4 years later, she is back to pack her past dad's house, but once Damon sees her , he knows it is time to remind her that he can only be his. Well their passion is animal, BDSM, prey games, and just brutal possession are in the list. BUt also there is a love that goes beyond the passion, they are fated to be one, He is the one who chose to stay behind, and now he will have to chose between promise or love.

Taken by the Ranger is emotional, engaging, and full of good writing. It is a darker, second chance, small town romance that is a powerful short read about re-connection. Damon and Sarah meet years later after she left the Shadow Ridge. Their meeting is intense with a push-pull dynamic between them that fuels their relationship. Their connection is explosive but each of them realize that being together in their life’s journey will bring their happy ever after. Taken by the Ranger can be read as a standalone. However, it is a read worthy part Paramedic Rangers series.

Primal play? Yes, please! Taken by the ranger was so good! I devoured it in one sitting. It checked all of my boxes: primal play , possessive mmc , dark second chance , small town and a HEA . This story follows Sarah and Damon. They were childhood sweethearts but we're separated for four years. Sarah left to escape a toxic environment but left the man she loved. Damon was left brokenhearted and angry. When Sarah returned, all of their feeling resurfaced and the chase began. I loved how the story explored their complex emotions and relationships.

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

The characters were very appealing and complex and complicated and perfectly steamy together. Plot was intriguing and intense and well paced. World building was excellent and solidly drawn. Enjoyed immensely and highly recommend.

Bridget has done it again. ARC review. Short and sweet, small town spicy romance. This one is about Sarah leaving to get away from the small town but has to go back. Of course running into her old boyfriend who she never stopped loving. This book has some primal kink and the story was well told. 10 out of 10!! A must read!!

This was a good read and a darker addition to the series. Sarah and Damon have been separated for years but the death of her father has her heading back to Shadow Ridge and the man she left behind. Can they forgive each other and move on? Good characters and decent storyline with a HEA FN.

Once again Bridget Adrienne does it again with a short spicy can’t put it down book! This one is about Sarah and Damon and if it’s even possible spicier than some of her others! I read it in one sitting without a break! She definitely knows what a reader wants!

AHH this was such a great novella.
It’s a second chance, but gives off vibes of enemies to lovers too, it’s a little dark, it’s kinky, and it just pulls at your heart.
