The drawn out courtship from Summer’s end started to annoy me. That easily could’ve been reduced and made the overall story a bit more succinct. I appreciated that the author included translations within the sentences for the native language since that wasn’t done much in the first one. However, some of the titles and names were a bit much - a glossary would’ve been able to fix that. Overall though a good time was had.
4.5 stars. This is like a mix of Moana and aquaman. I personally prefer Wynter ans Kham and I like they were in this book. The book was definitely predictable but I still really wanted to read it and the writing and storytelling sucked me in. This was a bit more HEA than previous but I’m here for it.
Love the Train Soul series, so had high j hopes for this novel. Total disappointment. Names of characters impossible to pronounce as well as family and tribal names. Gave up after second chapter.
Okay, so now that the first book dealt with the hidden abused sister we can get to the one who doesnt think shes pretty, even though she obviously is. She uses her siren song powers to misdirect and befuddle him after her makes a critical Mr Darcy type comment about her being as appealing as cold tea. She is attacked in the city and uses her siren song to turn the attacker into mince meat, alerting all the visiting sea-men that she is a newly awaked siren, which their people have not seen for 2000 years. Anywa, she is kidnapped by their nations enemies, her sisters are fake killed and she goes on to rule the sea kingdom full of women-loving warriors.
