Part two picks up, and it’s heavy. The whole dynamic has changed, now that Dionne has come clean about what painfully happened in her childhood. Dionne has carried this heavy secret since she was eleven years old. The kind of secret that she held, it shaped her into becoming the woman that she is today. She never realized how broken she was, due to all the trauma that she kept inside. Now, at thirty- eight years old, with all that trauma, and brokenness on the front line, it’s affecting the relationship that she’s building with Tank. Tank is putting pressure on Dionne, no longer allowing her to hide in her truth anymore.
It's one thing for a man to love you, but it’s another for him to actually see you. Tank sees Dionne. He sees her behind the physical, the pricy designer items that she loves to fill her closet with, and her beauty. He wants nothing more than for Dionne to address the inner part of her that’s crying out for help. With that, its testing their relationship, putting Dionne in a situation to branch out, and letting go of the weight that she’s been carrying for decades.
In part two of Wasn’t Supposed To Be Yours, bad decisions come to light. People’s loyalty gets questioned. All business deals that were done in the dark, has now brought it’s way to the front. Rico takes some big hits this go round, making him question everything that he ever did that put him in this messed up situation.
This story will keep you on the edge of your seat as secrets continue to unravel, and love is tested in so many ways. Something great can come from Dionne and Tank’s love story, but with so many obstacles standing in the way, is it possible?
I enjoyed this book definitely messy and engaging but a few things had me squinting at my Kindle like be so for real. 1. These kids need their own spin-off because they’re hijacking the plot. Diamond please… please. Stop putting these bad a** kids in the grown folks story lmaoo. Rico & them are entertaining, YES, but I opened this book for Tank and Dionne, not the daycare cinematic universe. Every time the tension got good, here comes the youth causing a scene.
2. Everyone has smoke for Dionne but not the man WHO STARTED THE MESS?? Crystal,(while not tied to dionnes past it just feels like everyone picking with her) Toby, Garrus & his cousin, now the son?? Why does Garrus walk around like a free civilian when HE was the one married? I’m tired of Dionne being the punching bag like she seduced a helpless victim. That man is grown hold him accountable too. His entire family tree is weird and I stand on that.
3. Tommie… girl. get that she’s iconic in the universe but why does every cameo feel annoying like she chimes in at the wrong time is brash as fuck and seems to have a weird dynamic w. Dionne. Then the “Read more in Free Me From You" be serious 💀it was just a tiny bit tacky but that’s a me specific gripe
Overall fun, dramatic, page-turny chaos. I liked it, but not without side-eye. Would still read the next one because I need to know if accountability ever clocks in 😂
Toby was playing with FIRE and he definitely got that burn!!!…I hope Bash does not repeat what Toby told him!!!… I was glad Dionne finally told her mother what happened to her, because she was carrying a heavy weight for real!!!… Garrus ia drowning in his Karma for real!!!….I hope he is able to get through to his son before he is introduced to Tank or Free and her crew!!!.. I hope things turn around for Rico, because he was on the rise only for Toby to shatter his life and his future!!!… It was good to see law back on the scene!!!…I’m betting Dionte is going to get his woman back!!!…He said it has been 30 years!!!…
So much trauma and drama! Tank and Dionne have come a long way with their relationship, but past drama will not stay behind. Rico has gotten himself into some serious trouble that his family may or may not be able to help him resolve. Garrus and his family don't know how to let go of the past. Dionne has paid her debts. Prayerfully, Dionte will be approved for his parole to help keep his family stable. Waiting patiently for part three to see what happens with everyone. Amazing job!
Lots of misuse of your (you’re*) somehow Miami was spelled Maimi several times in the story and I blame the editor, how come they didn’t catch this? The same can be said for the first book as well. I like the story line and learning about the oldest sister but she acts like the youngest and it’s annoying! I like hearing about the other sisters again as well.
Love this story so much BUT I think there was too many unnecessary details shared—like what someone was wearing or what they were doing the last time this or that happened. I’m certain you had a good reason for over sharing but I don’t think it’s necessary. Still, I love you down Diamond and can’t wait to get to part 3! ~XoXo
Life presents challenges that test our resilience and character, shaping us through our responses and the consequences that follow. In this moment, it seems everyone is navigating their own personal storm, confronting trials that have the potential to transform and strengthen us. Wow! Deep! ReneeG
When I read Free from you the author stated that we would possibly hear more from Tommies daughter true and I was intrigued to hear more about her but we didnt get that at all and if Im being honest Idc about Rico and his drama because it could have all been avoided. But now im curious if Garrus son gone come for Dionne.
When I say she never disappoints. I swear this woman can’t do no wrong. This book was everything! And it will take you through all the feelings. A guest appearance! And bae wasn’t playing with her at all! Outstanding
I sure hope Garrus son don’t make good on that mess with Dionne like noooo stay where you at son!!! If so Tank is going to have a field day with him! Rico stressing me out like dude go back upstairs over here looking guilty smh 🤦🏾♀️
wow DIAMOND you got me hooked on this when are you dropping part three you done you're Big one i’ve been able to learn so much from this character Dionne dressing up her pain i’m happy she has given Tank a chance Girl run me part 3 Blessings to you
Man!!! Rico, I feel so bad for him. He needs Seyvn as his attorney asap.. I'm so glad Dionne got that off her chest... now they slew of problems with Garrus son.. I'm ready for part 3.
I just love Tank & Dionne! Tank is so patient with Dionne, but he's also firm! Now Rico, geesh this young man is giving me a headache, but my heart aches for him! So much trauma has been released! I can't wait for the finale!
This book was so good and real. There were a few scenario that I could relate too that had me in tears! Great job on this book! I love majority of this author books. Some I complain are a little boring lol but for the most parts I love her writing.
Toby is real foul for a wanna be street ninja! I'm glad Dionne talked to her mom. This book has a lot of twists but I'm loving it. Ready for the finale.
I guess it has to get really messy before it gets better so I’ll keep going. Oh my God this book is taking me through the motions 😬on to the finally book 😬
Dionne and Tavion have been thru a lot of drama and pain in such a short time. Dionne and Tavion are now facing pregnancy and trauma from her childhood and finally telling her mother about the sexual abuse. Tavion is now facing his cousin Rico going to prison for killing Toby the so-called friend who ruin his football career for a mistake he made years ago. Garrus the men she had affair with wife committed suicide and his oldest is threatening to kill Dionne who he blame for his father's indiscretion. I can't wait to read Wasn't Supposed To be yours 3. What's going to happen to Dionne and Tavion relationship and the pregnancy. Will she tell her sisters Free and Tommie about rape. I hope her mother doesn't blame herself will she tell Dionne father. Diamond D Johnson great author great read
