An absolutely fascinating book. Having stood at his grave on many occasions it was a delight to read this book, giving a well rounded view of an Army Chaplain who was loved by all and whose tragic loss affected so many.
I would place this book in the same category of the “half-shilling curate” as a must read book, if you want to know anything about the life of a Chaplain in the First World War.
