A hidden condition affects 1 in 3 Indians and is responsible for six of the nation's top ten causes of death. Shockingly, 99 percent of Indians have never been tested for it.
This condition, insulin resistance, silently harms families nationwide.
Doctors treat diabetes, heart disease, PCOS, obesity, fatty liver, stroke, and Alzheimer's as separate diseases, but miss what connects them all. Conventional medicine measures the wrong markers. By the time fasting glucose shows prediabetes, insulin resistance may have been damaging the body for years. Medicine waits for disease. Prevention is crucial.
Indians are genetically predisposed to these conditions. Genes that once aided survival now increase vulnerability to insulin resistance. Rapid dietary shifts, chronic stress, and sedentary lifestyles are fueling a growing epidemic.
Insulin resistance is reversible, if detected early.
Sick Nation presents a proactive, preventative protocol for metabolic health, designed to detect insulin resistance years before diagnosis and reverse it before chronic disease begins. Developed through extensive research, food testing, and expert consultation, this evidence-based book aims to prevent and address the condition affecting millions across India.
Inside, readers will

Review: A much-needed wake-up call.
This book tackles a critical issue that most people ignore until it becomes personal. The scale of lifestyle disease, poor health awareness, broken systems, and preventable damage comes through strongly.
The middle sections do get a bit technical at times, but you still understand the larger message and urgency behind it.
One thing that felt repetitive was the personal story the book opens with. It keeps coming back in almost every chapter and could have been used more sparingly.
What I appreciated most is that the book does not stop at fear or diagnosis. It ends with realistic action items and practical changes rather than dramatic solutions. That makes it useful, not just informative.
Important book. Especially for modern urban India.
this book is a must-read for every household in India. a lot of this was already known to me, but some aspects did give me an aha that is why moment. I am already low carb high fat in terms of my nutrition and really ace some of the lifestyle modifications recommended in the book, but there is always room for improvement. as a reader I felt the book was very easy to read, written in simple language and no medical jargon or other such. editing could have been a little better- I found there were repetitions in some parts especially a sub sections last paragraph often being repeated in the subsequent sub sections opening paragraph. nevertheless a must read.
Great starting point for anyone trying to understand what is happening to their bodies. Most of it might be know to people with expertise or interest in the area but the good part is that the explanation is simple, a lot of random (but useful) advice given online is consolidated in one space, and it offers practical implementation guidelines.
Superb book. Clarified so much of my confusion about what's right and what's wrong when it comes to lifestyle diseases. Easy to understand and well written. The entire science of insulin resistance being at the root of all our lifestyle diseases was fascinating, and makes things so much simpler for people who aqctually want to improve their health without overthinking.
