The ball on the first evening of the Moonflower Festival ends as a resounding success, and though exhausted from the previous long night, Misha jumps at the chance to experience the second day of the festival in the city among the common people. As the celebrations draw to a close, she finds herself looking for ways to spend the remainder of her time with the friends who will be leaving in the wake of the festival’s conclusion. But while life tries to slip back into a peaceful rhythm, Misha happens across a terrifying The plague that once brought Redford to its knees has once again set its sights on the capital. Every second counts if Misha hopes to prevent the same tragedy from repeating itself.
Starting where v2 left off, Misha is confronted with the arrival of the plague and the heavy learning moments that come with it. The result is a tad darker story than earlier books, but that is a good thing as far as I am concerned. I would have expected it a bit earlier to be honest. Whether or not Misha learns something from it, is something for future volumes, but for now it made an intriguing, all be it high paced, read. I am looking forward to the next volume were we hopefully will learn a bit more about her heritage.
