This Thug Universe Christmas Special connects directly to the official INSIDE THE THUG UNIVERSE™ Access Pass and interactive AI experience.
Christmas was supposed to be quiet. For Trae Macklin, it was supposed to be about family, legacy, and enjoying the clean life he fought to build. The streets were behind him. The money was legit. The empire was secure. Then the leverage surfaced. As the city lights up for the holidays, a calculated digital strike threatens to expose everything Trae has worked to protect—his business, his family, and the past he buried at great cost. This isn’t a random attack. It’s precision. Timing. Blackmail designed to collapse an empire from the inside out. With law enforcement watching, rivals circling, and the clock ticking toward Christmas morning, Trae is forced to reunite a crew that knows how to move in silence. Every decision carries weight. Every mistake risks blood. And every choice asks the same What do you burn to save the family? As old ghosts return and loyalty is tested, Trae learns the most dangerous threat isn’t losing the money—it’s losing control. Because the street doesn’t care how clean you’ve gone. It only remembers who you were. A Thug’s Christmas is a gritty urban crime thriller about power, loyalty, and the cost of trying to walk away from the hustle—set against the deceptive calm of the holiday season. The street never forgets. It just waits.
Wahida Clark was born and raised in Trenton, New Jersey. She decided to start writing fiction while incarcerated at a women's federal camp in Lexington, KY. Her style is street, raw, and she has an imagination that's in overdrive. When you read her novels they are so real you are convinced of one of three things: that you are inside the book, you know the characters, or you just have to meet them. Her first novel, Thugs And The Women Who Love Them and the sequel, Every Thug Needs A Lady appeared on the Essence Best Sellers List.
I know AI writing when I see it. I’m very disappointed I’ve been a fan of Wahida Clark since I was 13. I’ve read ALL of her books and this!? You could’ve kept this not to be brash, you tried cutting corners using AI writing to create this book. This not even street literature, it’s very watered down anybody that’s been a fan since day one knows your writing style. Also I’m a writer it’s easy to spot AI writing. I love you Wahida but this… use AI as a tool not to think for you.
Even though I missed reading from this author, I felt like this book could’ve been better. It’s nothing like the original Thug series. It was kind of boring. Not enough excitement. The same characters except November. It was actually kind of boring. I was anticipating a better storyline. This was not it. First of all, how did Nina end up with Rick and not Kyra? When did Kyra and Nina become cordial? I thought that Tasha and Trae had one daughter that was already born and she was pregnant with their second daughter? I thought Faheem was in a mental institution? How did he get out? Angel was pregnant in the last thug series what happened to that baby? It’s a lot of missing clues to this story. I hope the next one is better. Wahida please have a better storyline. This is not your usual writing.
Oh, Ms. Wahida… I’m always going to love you! And my The Macklins — whew! One of my favorite couples, okay?
Of course this book did not disappoint. I’m about to start part two… I should probably go to sleep, but I’ll definitely be reading it tomorrow!
Thank you for all the hard work and for the many, many stories you’ve shared with us over the years. You truly put your heart into these books, and as a reader, I appreciate that more than you know.
I’ve been a fan, I am a fan, and I will continue to be a fan. I’m looking forward to the next book in this series — and of course I’ll be moseying my way through the rest of your books too.
Again, thank you for sharing such a beautiful gift with your readers.
I wouldn't expect anything but the best from the Queen of urban literature. Another episode to add to the Macklin gang. What got to me was November and how he was pulled in to help the family and now he's being shut out. He might be a problem in the end if she gets back with Faheem. Exceptionally well done!!!
This was an Awesome read 📚. I can't wait to read more books from Wahida Clark. She has also been an Awesome writer, and I love reading her books 📚. I love reading short stories, long stories, and Book Series. I'm looking forward to reading more books by Wahida Clark.
This was a good short read. I can’t believe Tre gave away billions of dollars 💵 to go legit. I understand why, when family is involve money means absolutely nothing. I know Tre will get it back and build his empire back. And the Queens will be right there by their men helping.
This book is probably the worst book I have ever read. Sentences and paragraphs were repetitive until I thought I was losing my place in the book. Truthfully I feel hustled because it was not worth the money spent.
Didn't realize how much I missed the crew. I read every book I could find - hope I didn't miss any. They came together and did what they had to do to protect the family. Will it ever be over.
I don't believe she wrote this ridiculous garbage. I don't think Thugs 7 is her work either. Not unless she didn't actually write all the other Thug series books.
LISTEN!!!! A whole Banger as usual!!! Trae Macklin is still HIM! I need more. So does Jaz take Faheem back or nah? I can read about the team all day long.
I really like the character Trae, but in this one he wasn't has thuggest as I expected. This book was boring everything that was going on it went so fast .
