Still Spinning

Rate this book
Celeste didn’t expect her new colleague to be the intriguing musician she met one chaotic night over a year ago. Their connection was instant then and it's only growing stronger. But Celeste has made too many messes in her life to risk another one—especially at work.
She’s tired of feeling stuck. Tired of second-guessing every part of who she is.
When she gets the opportunity to plan events and weddings in the small-town where she grew up, she takes it, desperate for a change of scenery.
Isak has spent years pouring everything he has into the family-owned beach hotel he calls home. It’s where he lives, where he works, where he quietly tries to belong.
Then there’s his new colleague. The woman he can't get out of his head.
He’s never been in love. That would mean letting his guard down. Admitting how he truly feels—something he reserves for songwriting.
But Celeste seems determined to turn everything upside down. Her energy is contagious, even if she doesn’t see it.
She sees him though. Believes in him.
He wants her to trust herself again.
He also wants to be more than a secret.
It might take patience. It might get messy.
But some connections are worth the risk—especially when they lead you back to yourself.

Still Spinning is fourth book in The Without Filter Series. It’s a slow-burn, steamy and heartwarming, new adult romance taking place in Denmark.

This was long awaited, but so worth it. We’ve met Celeste in previous books, but now we get her story, and boy, what a story. The writing is amazing, such realism, I felt like I was in the room talking to Celeste and Isak. The themes and issues so relevant in today’s society, and you can tell immediately that neurodiversity is something the author has personal experience of. She writes it so well, but what is also so great is that, as a non neurodiverse person (at least not diagnosed) I could identify with so many of Celeste’s feelings and thoughts. Her actions made sense. I think it helped how she was so aware of her own feelings, and also those of others. Isak was great with her, so gentle and understanding. He sees the real her straight away, and he still likes what he sees. He has his own issues, and Celeste is a big part in helping him navigate his family issues, as she instigates changes between him and his step dad, and also helps Isak see that love can be shown in different ways.

This was an amazing end to the series, we get to see all the main characters from previous books and see their lives progressing, which is always great. Any of these books can be read as a stand alone, but if you read the series you’ll get so much more out of it.

A wonderful and heartfelt story
This book has been a long time coming. What a joy it was to remember all the characters from the previous stories. Now I need to go back and reread them.

Celeste and Isak's story is one that makes you feel as though you are a part of their lives. I was able to relate to them and how they were feeling and what they were dealing with. How they put on a front to hide their true feelings. Yet, they took a chance on each other. One of the things I loved most was how Isak never made Celeste feel like she wasn't worth anything. He was always encouraging her to move forward with what she enjoys doing. Complimenting her. Watching these two grow together and grow individually was eye opening. Their story shows how much our thought can make us see things poorly about ourselves even when others see the good in us.

Still Spinning will pull you in from the beginning and won't let you go until you get through to the end. I certainly couldn't put it down. It's a story I highly recommend to those who love a good heartfelt story. One that makes you feel as if it's your story. Don't pass this one up. I promise you'll love it. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

*𝐬𝐪𝐮𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬* my flippin heart has been stolen. I am a complete sucker for Felicia Bladeals writing and this story did not friggin disappoint. Celeste and Isak are breathtakingly beautiful. The story is beautiful and will take you on one heartfuling journey.

There connection, lust & angst is effortless and you feel their journey and growth throughout the book. For me this captured how supportive Isak is and the strong Celeste can be!

The costal feel, the workplace dynamic was just such a great read. I honestly was addicted to this read from page one to the end!

Yet another fabulous instalment in this wonderful series!😍😍😍

I love this series, so it was great to be back in this world and to see some of the previous characters.

This book tells the story of Celeste and Isak, years earlier, they briefly met at Holly's while Isak was playing with his band. Fast forward a few years, and Isak and Celeste are reunited as work colleagues at a hotel.

What I loved about this book was the cosy vibes; it was heartwarming and really sweet. That being said, there are a few sensitive topics throughout. The characters, at times, did annoy me, but in a way, it made them "real"; they had flaws too.

This book is part of a series. I would recommend reading the other books in the series, this book can be read as a standalone if you prefer.

Overall, I would recommend this book and the entire series.

Thank you to the author for a copy of this e-arc in exchange for an honest review.

[ARC REVIEW 📖]

Still Spinning
(Fourth Book in The Without Filter Series)
Author : Felicia Blaedel

The story begins with Celeste Ravn, a young adult facing career & life crisis : had surgery with alternating knee pain, quit nursing school & applied to designer school not knowing if she will be accepted or not, & broke up with ex-boyfriend Arthur who she went out with 2 years ago. With growing anxiety as if everything is in disarray & all going downhill, she made herself busy helping plan & design her sibling's wedding ceremony & successfully made her breakthrough.

Little did she know that her partying with Esther, her bestfriend & roommate, would lead to her encounter with Isak, a musician of a local band during an event at Holly's, & eventually became her colleague a year after.

The connections of Isak & Arthur were one of the tough challenges she had to deal with since they were both in a way related with each other (Arthur is Isak's stepcousin, & Arthur's brother Ramsus, is Isak's bestfriend).

The question now is, is Celeste ready to open up again & be swept off her feet? Or better yet find herself again?

Despite the sensitive themes touched in this novel, the unfiltered, rawness & realness of the characters (plus neurodivergence) are so relatable, that I can't help to just cheer them silently on; incredibly likeable from the start & easy to love, plus the narrative is quite fluid making it easy to read & follow the story's plot.

All in all, this is a lovely, heartwarming, & cozy romance (oh don't forget steamy!), enough to give you that warm hug you need on a cold winter's night.

4/5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you personally to the author for letting me read such a lovely book. 🥹🫶

“I’ve learned that there isn’t one right way to do things and that all the possible scenarios come with ups and downs.”

I think if there’s one quote from this book, this one resonated with me the most! I’m my own worst critic and it usually gets the best of me.

I related to Cella’s character more than I’d like to admit and I’m so happy that she pushed herself out of her comfort zone and just took a chance! Especially after losing gymnastics which was something huge in her life! That had to have been hard and to force yourself to potentially ‘lose’ again is scary! So the fact she did it with not only her career but her love life too was just huge!

Honestly, both her and Isak pushed their fears aside and just showed up for each other. I think that Celeste needed someone like Isak to support her and just be a listening ear instead of someone who got inside her head and pushed her around like a little puppet. And the way he got to know her disorder and was patient with her, and made her feel comfortable whatever she was at (the pillow at his house!!!) was really sweet and thoughtful! Or proofreading her emails, and bring a backup auto correct!

And Isak needed someone like Celeste to show him his worth. To just be someone to give him acceptance and recognition. And a proper work station! 😉 And the way she helped Thorsten realize how things needed to change with not only his and Isak’s work dynamic but also at home!

They just needed each other! And I’m glad that they got their happy ending! They both deserved it!

I give this one 3 ⭐️’s!

Still Spinning really surprised me in the best way.

This is a quiet, character-driven romance that focuses much more on emotional growth than on big dramatic moments, and that worked incredibly well for me. The story feels honest and lived-in, especially when it comes to feeling stuck, unsure, and a little lost in early adulthood.

Celeste is a very relatable main character. Her doubts, frustrations, and tendency to second-guess herself felt realistic rather than overdone. I appreciated that her journey was not about suddenly having everything figured out, but about slowly learning to trust herself again. Isak was a lovely counterpart to her. He is thoughtful, reserved, and quietly supportive, and their connection develops naturally over time instead of feeling rushed or overly dramatic.

The seaside setting in Denmark adds a lot to the atmosphere without overshadowing the story. It feels calm, familiar, and grounded, which matches the tone of the book well. I also liked how themes of belonging, creativity, and choosing your own direction were woven into the romance without being heavy-handed.

Overall, this is a warm, emotionally grounded romance with strong character work and a satisfying slow build. I would definitely recommend it if you enjoy romances that focus on connection, personal growth, and realistic emotions.

Still Spinning is the fourth and final book in the Without Filter series. Although it can be read as a standalone, I think it's better to read it to get to know Celeste better. She is a preteen in the first book, and here she is already in her early 20s. Without Filter is a contemporary romance series set in Denmark, in a small coastal town, with a few neurodivergent protagonists. It focuses on romance but also personal growth and family dynamics.

Celeste is one of those people who doesn't like to make mistakes and feels like the world is falling apart when she does. She has mild dyslexia, which causes her to make work mistakes when writing and reading, but she has a keen eye for event planning, which is why she will be hired by a small, charming hotel that is in serious need of renovation. Isak is the stepson of the hotel owner. He loves the hotel and is 100% involved, but since it's a family hotel, he feels like he doesn't quite belong there.

Celeste and Isak are lovable and sometimes feel raw and flawed, which makes them realistic. They both want to belong somewhere or with someone. They start out as friends who are attracted to each other but are cautious with their feelings. Neither wants to get hurt. Isak loves the hotel and knows that this is his calling, but Celeste wants to have options and good experiences. They have a very beautiful and healthy relationship, always listening to and supporting each other. Celeste encourages Isak to talk to his stepfather and tell him how he feels about the hotel, and Isak encourages Celeste to take risks and have new experiences, even at the cost of changing their relationship.

It's lovely, perfect for summer reading, set in a Danish seaside town, feels cozy and relaxing, with a nice ending that feels like new beginnings and adventures. It's lovely to catch up with the previous protagonists and find out what has happened to them.

Thank you to the author for the ARC!

This was a cute, cozy romance with a lot to love. The characters were genuinely likeable, and I really appreciated the neurodivergent representation, which felt thoughtful and refreshing. I also enjoyed the dual POV, and there’s a touch of spice that fits well with the overall tone of the story.

For me personally, I found myself losing interest around the 70% mark. While the writing was solid, and I was rooting for the love story, the story didn’t have a big, standout moment or emotional peak that kept me fully engaged through the end. It felt more like a slice-of-life romance, following the everyday moments of the characters rather than building toward something dramatic or jaw-dropping.

I think this would be a great fit for readers who love gentle, character-driven romances and enjoy settling into a cozy story without high stakes. For those looking for a stronger plot or bigger emotional beats, this one may be more of a maybe.

Still Spinning is a heart warming and emotional small town romance.

The characters feel incredibly real and flawed. Watching Celeste return to her hometown to find her footing again while navigating a complicated past felt very grounded and relatable.

The chemistry between Celeste and Isak is electric but handled with so much care. I loved their connection having met once before in a chaotic night only to be reunited as colleagues. Isak is the ultimate book boyfriend; supportive, observant, and his songwriting adds such a romantic layer to the plot. The setting in Denmark is also charming and adds a unique atmosphere to the story.

The slow burn is very slow. While the emotional payoff is worth it, there were a few chapters in the middle where I found myself wanting the plot to move just a little faster. However, if you love a story that prioritizes character growth and emotional depth over a rushed romance, this is perfect.

This book was heartwarming, wholesome and cozy, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! The characters felt real - flawed and likeable - and throughout the book I wanted the very best for them. The story is sweet and beautiful, while still touching on some topics that are difficult and I think many can relate to. This book is for sure the best one in the series so far, and an easy reread. Its been a while since I fell in love with characters this effortlessly, and I was sad to let them go at the end of the book.

When Felicia Blaedel let me know she had the next book in the Without Filter series coming out, I was absolutely ecstatic. I have enjoyed every book I've read of hers and I knew I was going to be in for a treat again with Still Spinning.

Based in Denmark, we follow Celeste and the musician she meets, Isak. When it turns out Isak works at the same hotel she gets a job at, the two begin working together and getting closer.

I won't give too much away except to say this new adult romance hits all the right notes. You can't help but get invested in the character's relationship and want them to work out how they will manage it moving forward. The author has such an easy to read writing style. I always find that when I go in to read one chapter, I can easily finish a couple because the story just flows so well. I'm already eagerly book five now!

This story stayed with me long after I finished. The characters feel authentic, and the emotions are raw without being overwhelming. It’s a quiet, powerful book about healing, resilience, and finding your way again. I couldn’t put it down.
