Finally, the perfect worlds of Youtopia can be shared with loved ones, allowing Immersers to live out their dreams together... until those dreams become nightmares.
Youtopia has reached its culmination in Infinity, a shared mindspace that offers collective perfection. Within the system, however, lurks a mysterious presence—the Harbinger—who warps perfection into the perfect killing grounds.
As Youtopia creator Sonya Young chases the Harbinger, the FBI knows it has only one place to former Special Agent Anabel Downer, who will seek to unlock the mystery and finally overcome the company that has come to haunt, and define, her life.
EVOLVED PUBLISHING PRESENTS the third exciting installment in the "Youtopia" series of techno-thriller/sci-fi/crime adventures, which, though fiction, seems all too possible in the real world... real soon.
I’ve been waiting for the third instalment of Youtopia since finishing the second. The moment I saw it, I bought it and read it, putting aside other books to do so. There’s always a chance that it could have been a disappointment, but this is the best book of the three. Ana Downer is back on the case. Another murder within the virtual world of Youtopia. Sonya Young’s having flashbacks, and both Bruce and Saeed are back; even Paul makes an appearance. Joseph Rein constructs the murder mystery itself well, using the technological aspects of this world to create a trail to follow which would be impossible without the technology, entwining the two together.
It’s so well done, and the immersive Youtopia setting, with all the politics and anti-Youtopia protests, the stolen side of the tech, it’s how it would be, and portrayed not in an in your-face way, but as a background motif.
Could you read this one as a standalone? Yes, but reading the first two would make the world much richer and give deeper context. Would I read a fourth, if it’s written? Yes. Without question.
