Rincontrarsi dopo dieci anni, e rincontrarsi del tutto casualmente è davvero difficile; se poi aggiungiamo che questi dieci anni non sono stati scelti da nessuno dei due protagonisti si capisce che la storia è un più di quello che sembra.
Dopo quella notte insieme, tutto è cambiato per Lily, dai suoi sogni rinunciati e messi in un cassetto, all’amore sconfinato per sua figlia: ritrovare ora quell’uomo e scoprire che la sua non è stata una sparizione volontaria la spiazza non poco.
«Perché c’è stata quella connessione inconfondibile che ho sentito passare tra di noi, nell’istante in cui i nostri sguardi si sono incontrati.»
Per questo, quel senso di familiarità che la lega a Matt la fa riscoprire se stessa poco alla volta, creando un nuovo legame con un uomo che scopre sincero, con cui riesce a sorridere di nuovo.
Il legame con gli altri protagonisti e la squadra di Matt è sempre molto presente, come negli altri volumi della serie, in una storia semplice, leggibile, senza grossi traumi e che riesce a dare qualche ora di svago.
Quattro stelle.

Diventa difficile dopo otto romanzi trovare parole originali e nuove per recensire la Aster.
La novità di questo romanzo è che la coppia non è uno dei risultati di Cupido di Freya, anche se in qualche modo, come le dirà Mason vista la sua delusione, lei centra.
Ci troviamo nuovamente alle Haway, per il matrimonio di Ryder e Maggie e qui Lily, l'amica di lei, rivedrà il militare che dieci anni prima l'ha messa incinta ed è sparito.
Ma nulla è come sembra.
Nonostante il tempo passato l'alchimia fra i due protagonisti è la stessa, e in breve si ritroveranno di nuovo vittime dello stesso incantesimo, ma con un bagaglio più pesante dei loro vent'anni.
Di sicuro non il romanzo che mi è piaciuto di più dell'autrice.
La Aster però si legge sempre volentieri: le sue sono storie brevi piene di romanticismo e di spicy, che sanno sempre rallegrare e divertire il lettore nella migliore tradizione del rosa.

Loved this book!!
I loved this story of Matt and Lily!! They met in New York City 10 years ago and had an amazing night, with a promise of more. But circumstances beyond their control, kept them separated. Until now, at her best friends destination wedding in Hawaii, they meet again. Lily tries to leave, thinking the worst of Matt, but thankfully destiny intervenes and she is unable to get a flight out and must stay with Matt. This gives them time to get to know each other and their attraction is fire. I love these two together and their chance at a family and paradise they both want. I love this book and all by Kate Aster! I highly recommend!!

I enjoyed reading this book. It’s been a while seen I read A Kate Aster book and I love her stories of strong military men. I love her settings also and this is in the gorgeous island of Hawaii. I’ve never been so she takes me there with her words. Lily is there for her BFF Maggie who is getting married. She then sees the father of her daughter, Matt, who she had an affair with 10 years ago. He doesn’t know that he has a daughter because she thought he gave her a fake name and number and has disliked him ever since. This is a second chance romance for both of them with an HEA. Worth the read.

Matt and Lily met in New York City 10 years ago and had an amazing night, but they lost touch. They meet up again at the marriage of their besties. She thought he gave her the wrong number, he thought she didn't want to meet up again. They have a daughter, the attraction is still there.

Holy fucking toxic best friend. If your best friend gaslights and belittles you and doesn't believe you, tell them to fuck off.
I've read this story or a variation of it many times. It's predictable, and I struggled to finish it.

I enjoyed this but not as much as some of the others in the series. Loved Matt but had trouble liking Lily. Still worth reading - Kate Asters books are always a one click for me!

Short & sweet.
Pros: I read this in only a few hours time and it was a decent read. Above average spice, some heart strings being pulled from his loss, some relatable mom-vibe themes....and a dog. Like I said, short and super pineapple-brochure for a vacay to Hawaii-kinda sweet.
Cons: worth the $3 on kindle....ummmm....in retrospect I wish I would've waited until I could've read it on kindle unlimited.
Also it is missing SOMETHING...some element of angst or just something I can't put my finger on. Good story but it definitely falls short of the *holy shyte* where has this book been all my life.

45/50% The Hawaii brochure stuff was a turnoff. It certainly is missing SOMETHING (idk what exactly) as well....but overall a quick, easy read.
