FOUL JUSTICE

Detective Inspector Lorne Simpkins is back on the force. Before she can get comfortable with her new partner, newly-promoted DS Katy Foster, the two are assigned a tragic murder case that looks like a robbery gone wrong. However, when another wealthy footballer's family meets the same deadly fate within twenty-four hours, it is clear the crimes involve something far more sinister.

Keeping her focus on unravelling the complex case isn't easy for Lorne when she learns news that throws her personal life into a spin--her fiancé, M16 agent Tony Warner, is involved in a dangerous covert operation in Afghanistan. But innocent people are dying on her patch, and someone must catch the killers. Lorne can't allow this Foul Justice to prevail.

GUARANTEED JUSTICE

Linda Carter is brutally raped and left for dead in an alley by wealthy playboy, Graham Gibson. During the ordeal Gibson threatens that Linda’s sister Fiona will be his next victim.
Retired DCI Lorne Simpkins and her husband, Tony thought they knew what they wanted when they started up an animal rescue centre. Despite her new role being a fulfilling one, Lorne feels something is missing from her life and decides to become a Private Investigator.
Feeling vulnerable Fiona searches the paper and an advert catches her eye which leads her to Lorne’s rescue centre. During a home check to see if the girls’ flat and a dog are suited, Lorne witnesses Linda’s horrendous injuries. She urges the girls to let her take up their case. Little does she know that more victims will come forward to accuse Gibson of being a multiple rapist.
Lorne is determined that Gibson will get his day in court, but will the girls be guaranteed justice?

ULTIMATE JUSTICE

A ship wreck--

Dozens of bodies washed ashore--

Clear evidence that evil has made port in London.

The horrific case piques the interest of P.I. Lorne Simpkins. It doesn't take long before Lorne learns that young, helpless women are being caged and sold to the wealthy and salacious. Old wounds are wrenched open when she suspects a cover-up by the very authorities that should be keeping lawful order. Can she trust the self-serving journalist bent on making the human-trafficking ring his next big story? When her daughter is involved in a life-threatening accident, it's difficult for Lorne to keep her head in the game. But Lorne and her ex-MI6 husband, Tony, are determined to end the repulsive slave trade and bring the criminals to justice--even if it means Lorne ends up locked in a cage herself.

I have read all of the books in this box set and reviewed them individually – you can see them below and overall, this is definitely a 5 star read!!

FOUL JUSTICE

This is the fourth book in the Justice series and it is a brilliant addition to the series!

This is a really challenging story for Lorne both at work and in her home life and it made me feel really emotional at times. I was completely engrossed in the story and it had me fully engaged right from the start through to the brilliant ending. Having a young daughter I am getting quite picky now with what I read as my time is limited but I will always make time for this series!

Lorne is definitely one of my favourite leads in a series, she is really genuine, likeable and the author has done an excellent job with the characterisation of not only Lorne, but also her supporting cast of family and friends and that makes them exceptional reads for me.

Five stars from me for this one – already reading the next book!! Very highly recommended!!

GUARANTEED JUSTICE

This is the fifth book in the Justice series and it is a brilliant addition to the series, it is slower paced that the previous books but Lorne has had quite a lot on her plate to deal with at the moment so she is entitled to a well earned rest!

I really enjoyed that Lorne was able to follow her heart in this story and set up an animal rescue centre (not a spoiler as it is in the books blurb). She wants to take a step back following the events in the previous book and the impact that has had on her family life so this is the ideal opportunity to engage in one of her passions whilst remaining close to home.

Although anyone who follows the series will know that Lorne won’t be able to resist anything tempting that she comes across regarding people in need and wanting assistance through her newly set up PI business – and that is indeed what happens here.

I really enjoyed the plot as it developed and I liked being able to see more of Lorne’s private and home life too with Tony now he is back from his previous mission in Afghanistan. There have been quite a few changes and it is interesting to see how these could affect their relationship.

You can read the book as a standalone if you are not looking to read the rest of the books, but it works much better if it is read as part of the series if you get an opportunity to pick them up – they are best read in order too if you do follow the series as there are underlying themes and stories that run through the books.

Five stars from me for this one – already finished the next book – loving this series!! Very highly recommended!!

ULTIMATE JUSTICE

This is the sixth book in the Justice series and for me they just keep getting better and better - I loved the plot in this one, it is gritty hard hitting and I found the story completely addictive and it is also really relevant to recent news stories with the increase in the numbers of migrants trying to make their way to the UK.

Lorne is a fantastic character; the author has really developed her so she is a force to be reckoned with, I love her interaction with the other characters in the books and her family and friends support network is excellent. The author has created a set of genuine characters and I love seeing them work together in the stories.

This story is a tough one as the subjects are dark in nature but the author does a fantastic job with them and they are handled with the care and delicacy needed whilst still making sure the book is a complete page turner – and not everyone has that skill!

This book can be read as a standalone as the author does recap so you aren’t missing out on anything needed to help your enjoyment of the story, but they are best read as part of the series if you get an opportunity to do so!

Five stars from me, another fabulous addition to the Justice series – one of my favourite crime series available at the moment – this book is definitely a must read for any fans of police procedurals and crime fiction thrillers!!

Having read Books 1 to 3 of the Justice Series I am now hooked! Books 4 to 6 are all gripping reads and I finished all three in just a couple of days. Amazing reads, all of them. Lorne has now got married, opened an animal sanctuary and, not satisfied wit that has also started up a business as a Private Investigator, having got her qualifications, with her new Husband. These three books follow her as she copes with her new life and ventures. Now, that may not sound much but, believe me, each book is not only gripping but will keep you on the edge of your seat. And, when you finish the set, will leave you wanting to read the next. This Justice Series really is that good. Highly Recommend. I'm off to read the next box set - Books 7 to 9. Give the series a try, you will not be disappointed!

If you like British Mysteries, this is a good series. You do not need to read the first book to know what is going on. The story keeps moving and most of the endings come as some surprise. What makes this series nice, is if you have ever been to London, then you know the places they are talking about.
