Remington Kane

Remington Kane is an American author that writes action-packed thrillers. The author might be unfamiliar to some people because Remington Kane is actually a pseudonym for Donald Wells.

Donald Wells has garnered a reputation for writing darker and somewhat serious novels about killers. The author was born in New Jersey. He never really left and has since made a home there. Like most of his peers, Donald Wells was an avid reader as a child.

He spent many an hour devouring every book he came across. And it wasn’t long before he began to yearn for the chance to write. Like many aspiring authors, Donald Wells knew he had the capacity to tell stories. However, he was a little hesitant to venture into such uncharted waters, not only because he didn’t know where to start with regards to writing a book but also because he didn’t have confidence in his own ability to produce compelling fiction.

Again, like most notable authors, Donald meandered about for a while. Rather than going into publishing the first chance he got, Donald tried his hand at various odd jobs. He worked as an insurance salesman, a Real Estate Sales person, and even a Retail manager.

The jobs, though seemingly meaningless in the grand scheme of things, did wonders for the author’s writing capabilities. Whether he was driving trucks or cleaning floors, Donald gained insight into the workings of the world.

He met unexpected people and heard their intriguing stories. He came across numerous strange encounters and even participated in some of them. He essentially dipped into so many unique aspects of life that it came as no surprise that he had more than enough stories rattling around his head when it finally came time to write his first novel.

Not that many authors can claim to have been offered a chance to act as bodyguard to a drug dealer. Since getting his first book sold, though, Donald has finally settled in his career. The author loves writing novels and there is nothing he else he would rather be doing. The fact that he has found a way to make money out of his passion makes him one of the luckier individuals in the world.

By the time Donald Wells began writing as Remington Kane, he had already become established as a novelist with numerous thrillers under his name. However, writing as Remington practically took over his life.

This is because Donald has achieved more success writing as Remington Kane than he did producing novels under his real name. Kane is best known for the Tanner series of novels. Tanner is a hit man who accepts a job to take out a mob boss.

When he is betrayed and thrown into prison, Tanner thinks of little else besides getting revenge. And once he finally gets his freedom, the hit man becomes a one man army, engaging in a brutal way against a crime organization known as the Conglomerate.

Each new book sees Tanner raising the stakes by finding a new target that will sting the Conglomerate in ways they couldn’t possibly fathom.

Remington Kane has been praised for the Tanner novels because Tanner is such a refreshing hero. The protagonist is so average physically, devoid of the exaggerated traits that most action heroes seem to bear. If not for his natural fighting and survival instincts, one would be hard pressed to tell Tanner apart from any other ordinary man on the street.

A Wild, Thrilling Reunion

This story was an absolute ride. Having Six, Seven, and Eight all woven into the same narrative felt like a reunion I didn’t even know I needed. Six may not be on an official job, but he is still right in the thick of things, and it adds a wonderful layer of depth to the whole book.

Cody, who I still think of as Cody even though Henry now carries the Tanner mantle, is restless in retirement. When a frightened woman reaches out to Spenser for help, he can’t take the case and passes it to Cody instead. The situation leads Cody somewhere that felt instantly familiar, almost like stepping back into a place with history. And that final reveal made my jaw drop.

Meanwhile, Henry is handling a paid contract while dealing with interference from people who don’t understand what he is actually there to do. One sharp character sees the truth, though. I wasn’t surprised by one part of the interference, since I had already read the blurb for Legacy, but it still played out in a satisfying way.

This is one of Mr. Kane’s strongest Tanner stories. I devoured it in just over three hours, barely moving except to grab my glass of iced tea. Even Five pops in for a blink‑and‑you’ll‑miss‑it moment, which made me smile.

For longtime Tanner fans, this feels like a tour de force. It even made me consider going all the way back to Inevitable I and starting fresh, especially with the way Sara and Cody reminisce about earlier days. I’ll admit I had a moment of worry that we were heading toward a Goodbye Old Friend moment, but thankfully that isn’t where the story goes.

Warm, exciting, and full of familiar faces, this one hit all the right notes for me.

GUARDIAN delivers exactly what long‑time Tanner fans come for: fast pacing, sharp action, and a protagonist who never loses his edge. Cody Parker stepping into a new purpose adds a fresh emotional layer without slowing the momentum. Meanwhile, Henry—Tanner 8—continues the Tanner legacy with a complex assassination assignment that tests both his skill and his judgment. Even 65 books in, Remington Kane keeps the series feeling energetic and engaging. And what an ending! More trouble is coming for the surviving Tanners. I can't wait to read the next book.

Tanners Six, Seven, & Eight....the boys together!

Another great Tanner novel. The only thing that makes me mad is they end way too soon. I hate it when they end and I have to wait for months and months for the next one!
Tanner 65 is so good. Both Seven & Eight doing what Tanners do best and Six still being Six.
The end of the book will probably shock you as much as it shocked me. Can't wait for Tanner 66, 67, 68, 69, 70.......
Please just keep writing Mr Kane.
I have read EVERYTHING you have written and have never been disappointed!!

I'm so happy!

I had been looking forward to this story but I also was feeling terrible like losing a best friend. I didn't want my Tanner stories to be over even though I knew Remington Kane wouldn't disappoint us. I love to read Series and Tanner is one of my all time favorites! Well his other Series are great reads as well, but I feel like these ones are like family and I think about them all the time wondering what they'll be up to next.

The Celebration if being a Tanner

As usual this was a highly entertaining adventure with several men having been or being Tanner. As was the case the Tanners’ triumphed over pure evil again. I look forward to the next adventure. If you haven’t started with these adventures, you need to start enjoying every moment these books offer - start at the beginning and you won’t be disappointed.

Did not disappoint!! In true Remington Kane style he has managed to keep Tanner Six and Seven as main characters whilst introducing Tanner Eight as the leading character and also managed to throw a few twists and turns into the mix keeping Cody as a headliner! Bloody brilliant 👏

Have read all of the Tanner books and never thought that I would about a paid killer. Now that Cody is retired like Spenser it’s going to be fun watching Henry grow into the role of being a Tanner.

New chapter

A new chapter in Tanners life can't wait to see what happens next. I had hoped it would not end with him retiring.
