I never meant to get stranded on a mountain with a grumpy, dangerous-looking stranger… but the storm has other plans.
One wrong turn, a brutal blizzard, and suddenly I’m trapped in Jack Morrow’s isolated cabin, cut off from the world and way too aware of the man who saved my life. He’s silent, intense, and built like he belongs to the wilderness, but beneath the rough edges is a protector who sees me in a way no one ever has.
As the storm rages outside, the walls between us begin to fall. Desire ignites. Secrets surface. And when my past comes crashing up the mountain, Jack makes it clear exactly where he stands.
I came here to escape… But what if getting lost is the best thing that’s ever happened to me?
When the snow melts and the road clears, will I have the courage to leave the mountain man who’s claimed my heart… or will I choose the life I never planned for?
Claimed by the Mountain Man is a short, sweet, and steamy small-town instalove romance with a happy-ever-after. It can be read as a standalone or together with the rest of the books in the Wildwood Peaks Mountain Men.
CLAIMED BY THE MOUNTAIN MAN is Book 1 of the Wildwood Peaks Mountain Men series. It's a short and steamy, instalove, OTT, age-gap, opposites-attract, grumpy-sunshine, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her mountain man romance. Lucy is a curvy baker who has come to the mountains to get away from an ex. When she slides off the road in a snowstorm, Jack, a hunky, grumpy, reclusive mountain man, takes her back to his cabin. The two are attracted to one another and sparks fly as they spend time together. This couple had such great chemistry and the ending was happy after a bit of drama. This was a great start to a new series.
Claimed By The Mountain Man was the first title I've read by this author and it proved to be an enjoyable one. It's a short steamy instalove romance ideal for a breaktime read. The main characters were engaging with Jack as the ex firefighter mountain man hiding from grief unexpectedly playing host to the younger curvy heroine Lucy, trying to escape life from down the mountain during a fierce snowstorm. The sweet story is well paced and the exploration of their mutual attraction and chemistry that develops into a meaningful relationship for both for a HEA is satisfying. I look forward to trying other titles by this author.
I think Lucy was the best thing to happen to Jack. Even if she got stuck up in the mountains from a snowstorm. He went into solitude with grief in his heart. And then along comes Lucy and she’s struck with him for the duration of the storm. They find themselves opening up to one another. Attraction is blooming between the two of them. And they find things in one above they never thought they’d find. I loved how Jack protected Lucy. And how she brought his walls down. This was a sweet and steamy, small town romance. I really enjoyed this quick read.
Lucy was unprepared when a blizzard hits the mountains and she is stranded. Luckily for her, Jack comes to her rescue. Lucy is running from an overbearing ex and Jack is hiding from reality. As they spend time together, the sparks ignite. When her ex finds her will Jack become protective over her or will Lucy go back with her ex? Can Lucy show Jack how to live again and let love in? Entertaining story of finding the love they needed. Highly recommend. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
She needs to get away from her ex. On her way to the rental cabin, she lands in a ditch just as a blizzard starts. He sees a red car and goes to help. They rescue each other. Love the story, the people and the way the relationship develops. Best happy ending!
I think looking at this cover my heart skipped a few beats. However, Jack and Lucy are WOW! This book definitely draws you into the storyline and keeps you hooked until the HEA ending.
