Working for the Kannon Ridge Rodeo Company was my chance to get out of a town that seemed to be moving on without me but as they say, the more things change – the more they stay the same. Here I am in a new town with a new job and yet, nothing is different. Cows are still cows, the job is still the job, and I’m pretty much living the same life just with new scenery. That is, until a beautiful, unexpected face keeps popping up everywhere I look. Now I’m navigating uncharted territory while we face massive changes, vandals, and challenges everywhere we look that threaten to unravel everything all over again.

A sense of direction has never been a strength of mine so I’m purely winging it as I tiptoe outside of my tiny little comfort zone. But ‘new me’ isn’t afraid. ‘New me’ goes for what she wants. ‘New me’ puts on her big girl pants and takes the scary steps – that somehow land me right back where I started. But before I know it, ‘new me’ is feeling an awful lot like ‘old me’ but still totally different? Whatever sense that makes. It’s full speed ahead until the ground quite literally vanishes from beneath my feet and all I can do is hope he’s holding on as tightly as I am.
this is the first book ive read from this author and I absolutely loved it. Watching this story unfold was so sweet and seeing these two come together was so sweet. also getting to meet some of the other characters and watching their interactions was fun.
This was my first time reading a Wren West book, so I wasn't familiar with the background of the characters...but it didn't stop me from enjoying it! I loved how fate brought Rudy and Missy back together after their break up. I like how quickly the story moved - some authors get so focused on givng very detailed descriptions of places and I just want to get on with the story.
It was clear that Rudy wasn't over Missy when he tried dating someone else. I felt so bad for Missy when the people stonewalled her - it felt like dealing with mean girls in high school all over again. She handled it with grace instead of being catty.
The transition from chapter 12 to 13 was a bit confusing when an important chunk of their story was left out, prompting me to go back to chapter 12 to see if I missed a page. I ended up putting the pieces together though.
There was a bit of mystery in the story that I enjoyed and I liked that the intense part didn't drag on. It showed how protective Rudy could be with Missy.
I absolutely adored this book! I loved how it followed Rudy who played a more minor role in the other series, so I was already ready to love him in this.
I love how easy to read, humorous, spicy and a great plot this book had. It really moved along quickly and a lot happened!
Contains Spoilers:
There were a couple of events that I had hoped for more detail on like the wedding (but I was thrilled when she made up for it later!) I swear the reveal happened and I had to go back to reread three times certain I missed something because I was shocked. When she said “all gas” she really meant it. I would love a little more background on Missy’s upbringing and family dynamic to fully understand why that was so bad. I also want to hear more about her sister’s life! I devoured this book mostly in one day and I look forward to more in this series!
Also, if we could get some more redemption for those cancelled clients and The Merc that dropped her too. I’d love to see some groveling.

Might As Well (Kannon Ridge) was an ARC read for me. This is a second-chance cowboy rodeo romance. I was fully invested in the story, though there was one moment where I had to go back and reread because it felt like I might’ve missed a chapter. Since this is a spin-off of the author’s Stone Valley series, it does work as a standalone but at times I did feel like I was missing a bit by not having read that series first.
That said, I absolutely loved the characters at Kannon Ridge. The MMC and FMC had the best kind of whirlwind romance, and their moments together had me smiling nonstop.
I’m definitely looking forward to future books in this series especially Otto and Josie’s story.
I love that we get to see the inside of the rodeo world a little more. This is an author that will show all the love so a way of life that needs to be lived and respected more. We need cowboys! This one is a slower pace and focuses more on the everyday things that make or break a relationship. A bit slow for me but still enough to love to keep it in my hand till I finished it. I will say finding out the marriage the way it went down was a bit jarring but I loved them both as a couple and they totally needed to be together.
Honestly, this story took me on some roller coasters. There was so many big “WOW” moments in this book. I went from being mad to sad, to scared to over the moon happy, not in that order per se but all I can say is wow.
Honestly there is so many ways Wren can go with this series and I have a feeling after every book I’ll be begging for more. Also Wren, It was rude that you didn’t tell us what the next couple was and left us hanging! I’ll be the first one to buy her next book! Kannon Ridge you have my heart and soul… be nice to it please!
I’ve read all of Stone Valley and absolutely loved it, so I was beyond excited to finally get a deeper look at a character who popped up so often throughout the series. This book did not disappoint.
If you love second-chance romance, cowboys, small-town charm, and rodeos, this one is for you. I genuinely didn’t see some of the twists coming, just when you think you know exactly where the story is headed, it completely surprises you. This one kept me hooked from start to finish!
Read the “Stone Valley” series and was really excited to read Rudy’s story line.… now as a rodeo cowboy! Great plot with some spice and some parts/witty lines that will make you chuckle! Already enjoying the new group of characters! Also loved the shoutout to silversmiths! Cowboys and turquoise… what more do you need?
"Might As Well" is such a sweet second chance cowboy romance. It had fun, heartbreak, sadness, happiness, love. It had just the right amount of spice. I really enjoyed all of the characters, but most importantly how the MMC never hesitated to protect his girl. With this being my first cowboy romance, I was a little shocked at how good the spice actually was. I can't wait to see what comes next!
Small Town, Second Chance Cowboy Romance is my type of book and I couldn’t get enough of this book. Rudy never really got over Missy after they broke up and little did they know fate was going to bring them back together. I was a bit lost where I had to go back and reread some chapters but after I did it all made sense and Im looking forward to the next book. Thank You Wren for this ARC.
Second chance, frienemies to lovers! This was an emotional roller coaster. Just when you thought you knew what was going to happen you get surprised…. Spice in just the right spots!
