Julian Heil is known for his sharp intellect and icy composure. As the future alpha of the Black Moon Pack, his only concerns lie with the strength of his pack and the safety of his wolves. Under his calculated leadership, the Black Moon Pack will soon be one of the most dangerous in the world— echoing their future alpha's reputation of being cold, ruthless and entirely emotionless.
That is, of course, with the exception of one werewolf.
Aiden Calderon, the rebellious and unpredictable heir to the Dark Woods Pack, has built his legacy through blood and brute force. With unmatched strength and zero tolerance for threats, he is destined to turn his pack into an unchallengable force. His charms and carefree nature have earned him countless allies—except for Julian Heil.
Two future alphas. One never-ending pool of hatred. What happens when they discover they're fated to be mates?
So this book was sooo long and it had soo many sex scenes but i loved it so much!
This was an enemies to fated mates. These two hated each other from birth, their dads are besties so they grew up together and instead of becoming friends they became enemies.
They become fated mates pretty early on the book and even though they hate each other, being mates makes it hard for them to stay away from each other which I actually loved. I loved these two so much. Julian did piss me off at times but I grew to really like him. But Aiden was definitely my favorite character!!!
This book was funny and very angsty at parts. I actually really loved the angst though. I’m definitely going to be reading the other book in this series as well as the books about their kids!!
NO CHEATING SOME OM DRAMA (Julian tries to make Aiden jealous and it does not end well) NO THIRD ACT BREAK UP BUT THERE IS A THREE WEEK SEPARATION AFTER JULIANS DUMB STUNT MENTION OF PAST TORTURE AND KIDNAPPING VIOLENCE AND MURDER MPREG (I didn’t even realize this was in the book until far into it and I couldn’t stop reading it)
Enter the packs of 2 wolves from neighboring packs, who have known each other since infancy. Aggressive, competitive, and retaliatory, their entire existence seems to have been a rivalry of duels, dares, attacks, pranks, stunts, and destruction. So when the ruling Alphas and Deltas, sets of parents of these Alphas are at a point where counsel prepares for transition and transfer, which Alpha will be chosen?
Instead of 1 Alpha who will choose a mate, the alphas discover they have been predetermined to be each other’s mate, an undeniable force that prohibits them from ignoring. And as they figure out how to navigate their relationship and their shared leadership roles, they quickly learn that their strengths will serve the pack well for they provide a balance which the packs realize as they train with partners from opposing packs. Each training regimen differs, yet each compliments the other, one emphasizing balance, agility, and strategy, one emphasizing strength, skill, and combat. While one training highlights defensive maneuvers and strategies, the other highlights attacks and battles.
The unified new pack will be tested as they confront the newer mutant rogue wolves, wolves who have been altered, manipulated, and controlled by a soulless creature, a wolf maniacal monster who plans to attack And another threat of powerful witches lurk.
Throughout this lengthy (nearly 800 pages) paranormal romance, conflicts from the past and in the present challenge the relationship. Further, internal conflicts involving their inner wolf voices and guides occur. Covens of witches and one extraordinary witch, Kat, impact the Alpa pair. Filled with dramatic encounters, the book’s pace accelerates during each battle.
Readers can expect romances to include sexual details, and since this involves 2 Alphas, the physical navigation becomes a compromise, a test, a battle, and eventually a union. Further, some surprising anatomical features and functions of werewolves.
Despite the length of book, action punctuated with romances maintains a great pace, never boring. Book concludes as a solid stand alone; however, this could easily become a series following the adopted first pup and/or subsequent pups, or following inter species governing board or exploring werewolf and human unions…endless possibilities.
I’ve been following this story and this universe for years, since its days on Wattpad. It is beyond exciting to be doing exactly this, writing a review for the published version on Goodreads. I have had this thought for years, but it’s been confirmed by this book; T.P. Wright is one of my favorite authors. I thought she was spectacular in her early days and that thought holds today. For a first time author in the published space, this book was fantastic. Even though I knew exactly what was going to happen, I read all 750 pages again because of the love I have for the characters created and the story told.
Going into why I thoughts this was fantastic, here’s a few spark notes on my thoughts:
- These two MMCs are TRUE enemies to lovers. Not over some miscommunication or lack of understanding, but these characters intentionally hurt each other for years before they come together as lovers. Lots of emotional turmoil to get through before they started to accept themselves as mates, which was rewarding to see since there were actual reasons to not want it.
- TRAUMA HANDLED WELL!! We see what they do, we see why they did it, and it DOESN’T feel like mental gymnastics need to happen in order for things to make sense. Too often we see trauma in romantasy/paranormal romance that is NEVER addressed until the back 1/3 of the book, or is brought up in order to fill a plot checkpoint. Here, we see the trauma and the remaining effects from the first chapter. It is a driving force behind the plot instead of something haphazardly added once the story was finished. Because we see the trauma from day one, it is so much more rewarding when we can see them grow and move through healing.
- Side characters that don’t feel empty. Again, side characters in other books I’ve read feel shallow compared to the complexity of the main characters, so much that I don’t even remember their names when I’m finished reading. These guys are fully fleshed out and made them so much more memorable and fun to see the MMCs interact with.
My personal freak out moment: “It wasn’t time yet, but I had a plan to make Damon the greatest alpha that ever lived, and if he was a bit violent, then that couldn’t hurt.” KNOWING WHAT HAPPENS IN DELICATE I SCREAMED AT MY PHONE TIPPY JUST RIP MY HEART OUT WHY DONT YOU.
To wrap up the longest review I’ve ever left, Tippy, your books have been something I’ve been able to turn to through some of the worst times of my life as a mental escape. From one of your humans, thank you for everything you’ve been able to share. I sincerely look forward to see what comes next for you. :)

i’ve reread this book so many times lol i’m just so in love with julian and aiden it’s unreallll, this book WILL be published one day and i’ll be there cheering it on because it’s literally a masterpiece! idk if im just obsessed bc it’s a mash up of my fav genres (bxb, enemies time lovers and werewolves) but i literally love every bit of it!! it’s so well written and it’s literally one of the books i always reccomend when people talk to me about books/wattpad. an obvious 5 stars but i’d give it unlimited stars if i could
I love emotional characters who share their feelings but these two became too much for me. They both cry so much and they have too much sex, and yes, there is a thing as too much sex.
I first started this series on Wattpad in 2017, checking my phone’s notifications frequently and impatiently waiting for the weekly chapters to drop. Now, in 2025, I had the luxury of purchasing the book from the Kindle store and can revisit my ABSOLUTE favorite gay alpha couple anytime I please.
When I first got into reading romance novels I was disinterested and disappointed in what I saw - nothing was wrong with the books, I just hadn’t yet realized that I was desperately craving queer representation. Aiden and Julian’s romance was my first time reading a gay fantasy book, which really opened up my world.
I vividly remember laughing and crying while reading new chapters around my family, and them questioning me about it. Back then, I was too far in denial about myself to be open with them, but now, I’ve updated my mom about the publication of this book every day since Wright first made her huge announcement months ago. She’s looking forward to reading it as well.
This story introduced me to shifters and pack dynamics, proved to me that other gay people exist and we can have happy & fulfilling lives with our partners, and hell, MPREG hahaha. At the time of starting Alpha Mates, I was a little younger than Aidan and Julian but could relate with their mentalities and who they are as individuals. These two and their families became MY family, and I don’t have the words to describe how much their story means to me.
Yes, this is a book about gay werewolves. However, it’s something my adolescent self (and the majority of her followers, I suspect) needed when I was trying to discover myself. Wright, or Tippy (as she’s known on Wattpad), effortlessly writes all her couples to be in loving and healthy relationships sustained by communication and mutual respect. If they don’t start there, they work hard as fuck to improve their relationship. They inevitably encounter situations that strain their relationships but they make efforts to work together to fix them.
In a lot of the gay media that was present in the 2010s and earlier, authors kept perpetuating (whether intentionally or not) straight stereotypes of having a “girl” and a “guy” in the relationship. In Tippy’s books, that’s not the case. Julian and Aidan are two people in love who happen to be gay. This is the way ALL relationships should be viewed btw- they shouldn’t be confined to gender roles.
I would never gatekeep Tippy’s works, as I feel everyone could benefit from reading a book or five of hers.
While I don’t know her personally, I’m so proud of Tippy for this major achievement and wish her all the best. Thank you so much for deciding to write and publish this book and your other series. I would absolutely LOVE a release of Beta Mates and/or Delicate next. Please give this book a try, you won’t regret it.🫶🏽
This is the story of how Julian Heil and Aiden Calderon—2 future Alphas of their respective packs who have a big hatred for each other—come to find out that they are actually fated mates, something never heard of before.
Throughout the story, they have figure out how to deal with new emotions and what happens when 2 male Alphas find out they are mates.
Even though the challenges they face, the ending will leave you feeling warm inside and slightly teary (or maybe more than slightly) ________________
I read the original book available online on Wattpad and it was the story that introduced me to T.P Wright’s wonderful writing, and what’s kept me hooked ever since. I began following along on her Patreon as she started on the rewrite that would end up as the official book now published, and I fell in love with the story and characters even more.
This book is so beautifully written, and you will not want to put it down.
The characters have so much thought and emotion written into them. Julian and Aiden’s relationship has so much chemistry and love that feels so so genuine.
This book has a special place in my heart, and getting to see their story get professionally published has been a joy. The mature and adjusted plot line is very fitting, and I promise for anyone who might have read the original story but is getting the rewrite for the first time, you’re going to enjoy it. At least I know I did!
And for anyone who hasn’t yet delved into this story and her writing, give it a shot because I would highly recommend!

Aiden and Julian were the reason I fell in love with mm romances. I read about them growing up, making a family and later on about the families their children made. Tropes like enemies-to-lovers, adoption, dealing with trauma so you can be better for your children, making friends that feel like family all come together in her books. I started in wattpad then published books, but this particular one is where I always come back to. My comfort book. Now it's about to get published and I am so excited to get it in a physical form as well. Congratulations Tippy! You have come such a long way and the best are yet to come...

An epically beautiful, fantastic, heart gripping, and smutty read. Alpha Mates is everything that you want and more. From the epitomy of enemies to lovers, werewolves, Fated Mates, battle, found family, love and spice, and so much more... It encompass so much and yet you come back begging for more. I am truly in love with this book and the characters, their development and growth, it's everything. The author is an incredibly talented writer who deserves all the praise and adoration. Please read, it's good for your health lol. Amazing! Forever one of my favorite books and author. A must read, a 1000 percent!
Alpha mates are my favorite things and this book nailed this theme. I'm so in love of Julian and Aiden. In the middle of my reading I was like "it is amazing the one thing that could make it perfect would be if they switch" and they in fact switch -> God bless the author
OMG best book i’ve ever read so far. As someone who usually can never read the same book more than twice, I’m on my 5th read right now. This book has introduced me to emotions I didn’t even know were possible. Really good writing that never ceases to amaze me <3
One of the best MM werewolf stories I’ve ever read. Addictive, emotional, and beautifully written I got attached to the characters in a way I didn’t expect. This story will stay with me for a long time
This book is amazing! It was good when she first wrote it and now its a masterpiece!! Some moments with the characters pissed me off because I didn't understand the reactions at all. But overall I love love love this book!
I can’t believe after 10 years of rereading this book Wattpad, I can finally read the printed version. This brings me back to binge reading this book and the other books, and constantly waiting for the next update on Wattpad.
I have read it sooooo many times, I love Julian, Aiden and their chaotic family. The only thing I didn't like was that there were too many sexual scenes, I think the author should minimise them somewhat. Half of the book is smut. Tippy you should cut the scenes in the upcoming books so its not just about sex, toooo much sex
I found this book 3 days ago randomly here and I’m so addicted I read all of your books on Wattpad 😭. I love the universe and Damon is so cute I want to protect him forever. And what about Peter? I need peter’s story asap
