Deja Johnson has opinions sharp enough to cut glass and marketing skills that could sell snow in a blizzard. She is always in control, until she becomes the last single woman in her book club and the final keeper of the magical journal that has already transformed her friends’ lives. With bridesmaid duties approaching and a wedding full of glowing couples ahead, Deja refuses to face the event alone. Her solution is hire a fake date.

Rashaad Clairfield is calm, polished, and uninterested in love. He prefers clean lines, clear goals, and absolutely no emotional chaos. Then Langston, his business partner, tells him he needs a date for this wedding. Suddenly, Rashaad and Deja find themselves agreeing to a tidy, temporary arrangement.

Their plan works perfectly. Until it doesn’t.

Chemistry sparks. Emotions slip through the cracks. Old insecurities rise exactly when they shouldn’t. And soon, Deja and Rashaad must decide if their pretend partnership is worth risking for the real, messy, extraordinary love neither ever believed they could have, yet always hoped for.

A cozy, witty, heartwarming Christmas romance about vulnerability, found family, and falling for the person who sees the real you.

All of the books in the series were entertaining, however this was the best one. It addressed the all too familiar head butting scenarios between parents and their grown children. How the constant criticism diminishes the self esteem of their children. Both Deja and Rashaad are two headstrong individuals who decide to fake date for very different reasons and we all know where this leads 🙂.
The storyline was cute, but Deja's mother...that woman made me want to scream.
