This was a cute holiday read. I loved Bianca and Wise. Their chemistry was immediate and didn't let up throughout the book. The spice was hot!!!! These two were getting it in once Bianca let her guard down. I would've loved for this to be multiple POV to see how Wise was feeling, but it worked as is. The epilogue gave me everything I needed it to give. Everything came full circle and everybody was happy. This was my second book by the author, and I will continue to pick up her work.

Bianca deserved to get her groove back and her back blown out. I’m glad Tasha made her go to the party. Wise is def a young old man.

feel good holiday read

This book is about Bianca, who’s super excited to see her two kids for Christmas, but the weather completely messes up those plans and she’s heartbroken. She’s stuck in her feelings until her friend Tasha refuses to let her stay there and makes her go out to a Christmas party. That’s where she meets Wise.

Wise is like a breath of fresh air, and their connection is instant. They can’t get enough of each other, and before they know it, things move fast and both of their lives change in a short amount of time.

I started the book feeling really bad for Bianca, but as the story went on, I couldn’t stop smiling. This is a feel-good read with no drama or toxicity just good vibes and holiday feels. Perfect for a cozy Christmas read.

This book is really well written with no grammatical or spelling errors. The story flows effortlessly and keeps you intrigued from start to finish. Personally, I would’ve liked a little more from Wise’s POV, but that’s just my opinion and it doesn’t take away from the story at all.

Experiencing everything through Bianca’s POV gives you a clear picture of what she’s thinking and feeling, and you can really feel the emotions as you read. The attention to detail makes it easy to visualize every scene. Author Kyiris did a great job bringing the story to life in a vivid and engaging way.

The message in this book is really subtle. What I took from it is that you never really know what’s going to happen. You can plan for one thing, but life has something completely different lined up for you. Bianca planned to spend the holidays with her kids, and when that changed, she accepted that she’d be alone. What she didn’t know was that another plan was already in motion one that turned out better than anything she could’ve imagined. It gave her something she didn’t even realize she was missing.

I definitely recommend this book, especially if you’re looking for a feel-good story that keeps you hooked. Even the sex scenes will have you stuck in the best way possible. It’s refreshing to read something that doesn’t rely on toxicity or drama but still delivers excitement, emotion, and all the right vibes. It may be a short novella, but it doesn’t feel rushed at all, and honestly, I could read about Bianca and Wise all day. Great job, Author Kyiris you continue to put out fire reads every single time.

What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas was such a beautiful, affirming read. Bianca felt real from page one. A mother who did everything right, poured into her kids, built a successful life and a winter storm forced her to spend Christmas without her children. The feeling of loneliness wasn’t dramatic or pitiful it was honest. As someone almost in that empty nester season yourself, it makes perfect sense why this one landed so deeply.

Tasha is that friend who refuses to let you wallow. We all need her. Sometimes love shows up as a push out the door instead of a shoulder to cry on.

Wise and Bianca together just worked. The age gap was a non issue because the connection was rooted in maturity, presence and mutual desire. Their conversations had substance. Their attraction had intention. Nothing felt gimmicky or forced. It was refreshing to see a woman in her forties desired fully mind, body and spirit without apology.

Let’s be clear this book gently but confidently reminds us that connection doesn’t have an age limit. Wanting companionship, passion and intimacy doesn’t disappear just because your children grow up. Bianca didn’t lose anything she discovered something new.

This was heartfelt, affirming, a little spicy and deeply validating. A perfect Christmas read for anyone navigating transition, loneliness or the quiet after pouring into everyone else first.

💜🔥

This was a five star read for me and baby it did exactly what it was supposed to do. Short, sweet, emotional, and satisfying in the best way. This is one of those stories you pick up thinking you are just going to read a little and next thing you know you are smiling at your phone.
The title alone pulls you in, but the story delivers. Bianca is a grown woman who did everything right. She raised her kids, built her career, and loves Christmas hard. When her children cannot make it home because of the snowstorm, the loneliness hits different. That quiet kind of lonely that sits with you when the house is decorated but empty.
Then comes Wise. Younger, confident, charming, and exactly what she was not looking for. Their connection felt natural and grown. The age gap was done perfectly. He is in his early thirties, she is in her forties, and it never felt awkward or forced. It felt like two adults meeting at the right time instead of the right age.
What I loved most is how real this story felt. It was not overly dramatic. It was warm, sensual, and honest. A reminder that love can show up unexpectedly, even when you think the season is going to look one way and ends up looking completely different.
This is the perfect Christmas read, but honestly it works any time of the year. If you want something cozy, grown, romantic, and feel good without dragging on, this is it. Finished it happy, satisfied, and lowkey wishing I was at that party too.

Bianca, although successful in her career, is lonely being an empty nester. With Christmas around the corner, she is so excited to see her children and partake in the activities as a family that make the holidays special to them. When she gets the news that neither of her kids will be able to make it home, due to weather conditions, she is crushed.

No worries, her bestie Tasha is going to get her out of that funk! Off to a high-end party they go! With a bit of an attitude, and no expectations Bianca just tags along. As soon as Bianca enters the party, she is spotted by a handsome young man who will change everything. Conversation, a few drinks, and several spins on the dancefloor, turn into a night they won't forget. Cute read. 👍🏿👍🏿

The Epilouge Saved It

Despite the repetitive "I am sad that my kids aren't here", and "I am so lonely without my kids" statements literally repeated every few pages- which became Irksome and started to feel like page filler statements - this was a decent spicy holiday novella. I wouldn't say it was love at first sight between the characters, but some feelings developed after they were feeling all over each other for a few days. The age gap while mentioned, didn't seem very apparent and there was no angst or drama because of it. The epilouge was super cute and had a redeeming quality. This was my first book from this author and while it wasn't a 5 Star read for me, it held my interest.

Enjoyable holiday read

Bianca is content staying home, drinking wine, and crying over Christmas movies when bad weather prevents her two young adult children from coming home for Christmas. Her best friend forces her to come out for the night to a party, where she meets a much younger Wise. Taking a chance on the vibe she is feeling with Wise, Bianca invites him to her home for the night where they get stuck in a snowstorm. This couple has amazing chemistry and a great connection.

I like that the author mentioned the age difference but it wasn’t a huge factor in the story. Would have loved a bit more detail but I understand it was a short story.

What do the lonely do at Christmas What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas by Kyiris Ashley they definitely don't stay at home. Bianca went to the party with her bestie and left walking into an experience she never thought would happen to her. His name was Wise and thanks to a snow storm then two of them discover what they didnt realize they were missing. I felt incomplete after reading the book because i want to get the kids coming home and meeting wise and how they handled it. The ending was perfect and definitely not what I expected.

They find love!!

What do the lonely do at Christmas? They cry a little bit and then the suck it up and go to a party with their best friend that they don’t want to go to and get found by the love of their life, that what they do!!

I absolutely loved Bianca and Wise’s story!! When they met each other at that Christmas party, they knew something was different about the other and once they got to know each other better the rest was history.

If you love a good Christmas urban romance, add this to your TBR you won’t be disappointed!

Party …‼️

Hmmm 🤔, great question? Whether concise or rhetorical, “What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas ⁉️”….pivot, PARTY & plan to indulge & enjoy the holiday festivities for two 🤭🤷🏾‍♀️. Meanwhile, yes, Bianca & Wise, acclimated to their unconventional met & mingle circumstances. However, “necessity, the mother of invention” they transformed lemons into an orchard cash cow🫣🤭‼️ “What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas” was a great read, nostalgic, festive & entertaining with a HEA storyline 🥰. 👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼

What Do The Lonely Do At Christmas

I'm going to a Christmas party this year, and I hope that I find my future husband. Christmas is one of my favorite holidays, so I was feeling Bianca when she thought that she would spend it alone.

However, going to a party with her bestie turned out to be a great thing. She met wise, started enjoying his company, got snowed in, and the rest is history.

Soft and Easy

This was a soft low angst sweet romance. It has low key Christmas vibes and activities. There wasn’t anything that blew me away but it was a solid read. Moderately paced, clean writing, and I enjoyed that it was a story with mature characters. New to me author that I’ll keep an eye on.

Really Cute 🥰

This is my first time reading a book by this author and I really did enjoy it. It was a cute and straight to the point read. Some books with an older woman and younger male character messing around is straight drama, but this was really enjoyable. Looking forward to reading another book by this author.

Unexpected Love ❤️

This was a cute, cozy, spicy, romantic read. I love the whole unexpected Christmas love story. I wish we could have gotten more of the characters development and more history, but still an awesome read.

This was such a cute lil novella! Very Stella-got-her-groove-back-ish. There wasn’t much character development especially for Wise the MMC. I would have liked to know more about him. Nonetheless, this is a good and spicy palette cleanser.
