I really enjoyed this story. Seamus and Jaxie pulled me in quickly, and the tension between them stays consistent from beginning to end. The protective, forced proximity dynamic adds just enough intensity without taking away from the emotional side of their connection. Seamus has that quiet, steady presence that makes his character stand out. The way he shows up for Jaxie feels natural and not overdone, which made their dynamic even stronger. Jaxie holds her own in every situation. She’s strong and fierce, and you can feel the weight of everything she’s dealing with throughout the story, loved that. The mix of suspense and danger adds depth and keeps things moving, while still allowing the relationship to develop in a way that feels believable.
Esther E. Schmidt did a great job with this. It’s a strong start to the series with emotional depth and just the right amount of steamy elements woven in. This was a great read, and I’m definitely ready for more from this series. I'd suggest reading it.

Book 1 of what is shaping up to be a great series.The author has given us a well written book with wonderful characters. The book is full of suspense and romance along with Ms. Schmidt’s way of adding bits of humor to the storyline. This is Seamus and Jaxie’s story. Seamus worked at Stalwart Ridge Security (Jaxie’s Dad) until an unfortunate accident forced his retirement. He was asked by her father to personally protect Jaxie should something happen to him. A few weeks later Jaxie’s dad did die, leaving her controlling interest in the Security Company. Was his death an accident? What did her father know that would cause him to ask Seamus to be her personal body guard just prior to his death? Now strange things are happening all around Jaxie and Seamus - Why? Who's causing these things? Can Seamus protect her and keep them both safe without losing his heart?

I highly recommend this Outstanding quick read. As for this reader, I can’t wait to see what happens next in the Stalwart Ridge Security Series.

This is book 1 of a new series by Esther and it was a great start to the series. In this book we meet Jaxie, who just lost her father from there she gained controlling interested in her father's security business, Stalwart Ridge Security. Seamus, who had retired from Stalwart Ridge Security due to an event was set with protecting Jaxie if something ever happened to her father. Jaxie had gone through a traumatic event that left her scared in different ways, Seamus was able to break through those scars of her. Seamus is hard at first to like but once he let down his walls, he was the right person to love and protect Jaxie. This book has suspense which will have you turning the pages just to find out what happens next. The other characters in this book were a great addition and I can not wait to read their stories.

Holy shit!! What a read!! I am not going to lie, when I started this and first met Seamus, I wanted to nut punch him so hard! The only other person that has had that instant reaction from me is Spence who is the Prez of the NJ Chapter of Broken Deeds MC! #iykyk lol! And if you don’t then go read it, it’s another fab read by this author!
Anywho, Seamus is a regular ray of sunshine, a real peach! A grumpy bastard to be honest. But he has accepted a job to protect Jaxie.
The reason he has to protect her? Well you need to read this but sweet baby Jesus! The twist, turns and betrayal are strong and stole my breath! It’s hard to know who to trust but with Seamus by her side, Jaxie feels safe. Even if he is an asshole!! Lol!!

I’m already addicted to the start of this new series Stalwart Ridge Security, Seamus & Jaxie’s story! Jaxie recently lost her father who was the majority owner of Stalwart Ridge Security. When she goes to his cabin to get away she meets Seamus who was sent by her father if anything happened to him. She doesn’t understand why her dad would send him to protect her when his death was an accident or was it?? You’ll have to read the book to find out what’s going on in this new series. I’m so looking forward to the continuation in Murray’s book.

I loved Jaxie & Seamus! They hit it off from the start. Love how he pushes her to talk. The little attitude they give each other in the beginning really made this book for me. He didn’t let her hide. Ongoing danger

Danger brings Seamus and Jaxie together when her father asks him to protect her. Their relationship is resolved but the danger continues on to the next book so it's what I consider a cliffhanger if you care about that part of the story. They are an interesting pair with flaws and wounds.
