New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author Michelle A. Valentine is a Central Ohio nurse turned author of erotic romance and New Adult novels. Her love of hard-rock music, tattoos and sexy musicians inspired her BLACK FALCON series.
Rock the Beginning was a very cute beginning to the Black Falcon series. It's too bad that I completely read them out of order. It's a very short novella, but it was refreshing to see what Lane and Noel were like before they broke up. This of course was way before Black Falcon became famous.
Their romance was innocent and cute AF. They were friends to lovers and just from those couple of short chapters - I fell in love with them. Now after reading the first book I still love them.. but the relationship was very different and I really enjoyed that.
We get a glimpse at how Noel and Lane met. After several years together things finally come crashing down on graduation night when Lame chooses college over Noel. Noel claimed he never put music first but he was so wrong. It was a nice, short look at their relationship before they meet up again when Noel is bitter, angry and blaming Lane for everything.
Very short sweet glimpse into Lanie and Noels beginning and end pre rock star. It shows Noels determination even as a young boy/man on becoming a rock star. Music is his passion and Lanie is his heart. Super sweet!
Loved the story but didn't care for any of the leads. Noel was a giant asshole and Lanie was a whiny little shit. I guess if you want to start this series avoid this prequel because it would make you not read the other books. But I'm intrigued. I want to see how this plays out.
Super short, sweet, frustrating & swoonworthy read. Such a good start to an amazing series. I was giddy & teary. Now I miss Noel & I'm ready for more. :)
Friends since they were 5, HS sweethearts. Now it is time to leave and Noel wants to go on the road and make music but Lanie wants to go to college. Love this glimpse into the past!
